2 NOTICE OF RACE The IBERIAN CUP LAGOS 2013 and OPEN PORTUGUESE CHAMPIONSHIP for the class of Formula Windsurfing will be held in the Meia Praia, Lagos, from 08 to 10 of June, The Organising Authority will be the CLUBE DE VELA DE LAGOS with the collaboration of the Portuguese Federation, the Real Spanish Federation, the FW Associação Formula Windsurfing Portugal and the Spanish Formula Association. 1. RULES 1.1. The regatta will be governed by: (a) The rules as defined in the ISAF Windsurfing Competition Rules (WCR)1. (b) The Formula Windsurfing Class Rules National prescriptions shall not apply. 2. ELIGIBILITY 2.1. Competitors must comply with the ISAF Regulation 19, Eligibility Code Competitors with Portuguese nationality or with legal residence in Portugal shall also comply with the eligibility prescriptions of the Federação Portuguesa de Vela. 3. ADVERTISING 3.1. ISAF Regulation 20 Advertising Code applies In accordance with ISAF Regulation 20, boats shall display at all times a sticker with the event sponsor advertising, if provided by the Organising Authority. 4. 3 6. ENTRIES 6.1. A minimum of 6 windsurfing boards entered in the Formula Windsurfing class are required to validate the IBERIAN CUP LAGOS and OPEN PORTUGUESE CHAMPIONSHIP The Entry Form must be submitted by 02 June 2013, before 18 hours. ENTRY FEES 7.1. Formula Windsurfing Class Senior / Master / GMaster 35 Euros Fem / Youth 20 Euros 7.2. The Organising Authority reserves the right to accept entries after the established deadline. These entries may have to pay an increased entry fee (The fee will be 50 Euros) 8. COMPETITORS REGISTRATION 8.1 Each competitor must sign personally the Registration Form at the Race Office from to on 08 June of Registration is subject to the presentation of the following documents: (a) Sailor Federation licences (Portuguese sailors only). (b) Third party liability insurance covering a minimum amount of ,00 euros, or Sailor Federation Licences Documents and sailing instructions can be collected from hours to 13.00, on the first day of the event, from the Race Office after fulfilling the requirements mentioned above. 9. SCHEDULE AND COMPETITION FORMAT 9.1. If more than 80 entries received they may sail in 2 groups. A minimum of 3 races must be completed to validate the event. The maximum races of the event will be 15 races. Five races everyday. In the 3 day, the last possible race, will be held at SCORING Scoring and Discard Races Discard or more NATIONAL JURY A National Jury will be proposed by the Organising Authority and appointed by the Federação Portuguesa de Vela. 12. EQUIPMENT INSPECTION Boards, sails, rigging and crews must be at the disposal of the Equipment Inspectors at their respective parking from hours to hours on 08/06/2013. An Equipment Registration Form must be submitted before the start of racing. 13. PRIZES The prizes for this event are described at the Sailing Instructions. TROPHY FOR: 1º Place Youth 1º Place Woman 1º Place Master 1º Place GMaster 1º, 2º e 3º Places IBERIAN CUP LAGOS and OPEN PORTUGUESE CHAMPIONSHIP OFFICIAL LANGUAGE The official language of the regatta will be English. In case of discrepancy, the original text of the RRS and the Class Rules will prevail. In case of conflict between Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions text, the SI will prevail. 15. LIABILITY All those participating in this regatta do so under their own risk and responsibility. 4

5 The Organising Authority or any person or body involved in the organisation of the event rejects any responsibility whatsoever for any losses, damages, injuries or inconveniences that may occur to persons or things, both ashore and afloat, as a consequence of the participation in the races covered by this notice of race. Attention is drawn to Fundamental Rule 4, Decision to Race, RRS Part 1 which establishes: "The responsibility for a boat s decision to participate in a race or to continue racing is hers alone. 16.
