As an alternative to the lattice tower, we produce several types of tubular construction in the form of street works, inclusive of chimneys, flagpoles etc. whose purpose is to conceal the masts and antenna. This improves the options of placing masts in areas where aesthetics are a priority, e.g. to meet requirements made by landscape architects. The picture shows the Carl C. Lattice Tower towers, Series TEL The TEL mast is a slim, three-legged mast measuring 24-48 metres in height. This mast was especially developed for the industry.

Telecommunications companies in Denmark have preferred this mast and use it as their standard mast all over Denmark.

This type of lattice tower was the most frequently used lattice tower in Denmark until the launch of the TEL range in 2008.

3 Lattice Tower towers, Series TEL The TEL mast is a slim, three-legged mast measuring metres in height. This mast was especially developed for the industry. This mast is a further development of our very popular Series 16 which has been widely used since Telecommunications companies in Denmark have preferred this mast and use it as their standard mast all over Denmark. This range of masts is mainly made of solid rod iron which results in a transparent design. The design is adapted to requirements in compliance with applicable standards and government regulations. The advantages of the TEL mast lie in its slim, triangular design which is always fully optimised to meet the application concerned. At the same time, most of the mast consists of solid round steel bars which, in combination with the slim design, make the mast appear almost invisible in the landscape. We offer the mast in a strengthened version for installation in coastal areas. We can offer and install a range of ancillary components such as antenna head frame, ladders, fall arrest and cable management system in our masts. The technology is often installed near the mast and the cables on the exterior or interior on a cable ladder. The mast can also be protected against unauthorised access to its ladder system. The square design means that the tower has a light appearance while still providing plenty of interior space for ladder systems and platforms. The four legs also provide several options for the positioning of equipment within the tower as there is one additional leg compared to a triangular tower. 4 5

Tubular masts As an alternative to our lattice towers, we provide tubular masts in standard heights from 15 to 42 metres.

4 Tubular masts As an alternative to our lattice towers, we provide tubular masts in standard heights from 15 to 42 metres. The masts can be configured for use by single or multiple operators. The advantage of the tubular mast lie in its slim and rounded design that makes the mast appear light and elegant and conceals cabling completely. The tubular mast therefore offers a different appearance to a lattice tower and may be used in situations where lattice towers are not suitable. Monopoles Monopoles are usually provided in heights of metres and are suited to one or more operators. They are constructed with 12 to 18 square tubes with diminishing diameter. There are no transitions between sections as the joints are pressed together without the use of bolts. This is a recognised method that has been used for many years. The top can be customised as required. A star headframe as shown on the image on the right or a rocket headframe is used where the aerials are positioned on top of the monopole. The monopole can also be equipped with ladder and fall protection systems. The tubular mast comes in a hot-dip galvanised finish, but can also be painted to achieve a completely uniform exterior. Access ladders can also be installed for easy access to aerials. To create smooth transitions between the various tube sizes, we offer the option of conical transitions in all section joints. Rocket headframe aerial top. Aerials are positioned on the top and links can be placed on bearing tubes between the two platforms. The technology can be positioned as shown here with a cable bridge directly above the mast. Alternatively, the technology can be positioned further away and the cables laid through the foundations. We offer the option of equipping small monopoles with a hydraulic tilting system to allow the monopole to be tilted downwards to a horizontal position for the servicing of aerials and equipment. 6 7

Streetworks and Flagpole masts Flagpole masts can be used in locations where a highly discreet mast solution is required, e.g. in residential or holiday cottage areas.

We supply our flagpole masts as standard in three different diameters: Ø160, Ø229 and Ø273 and in heights from 14 to 23 metres.

Alternatively, we are able to install a Tri-Sector Radome aerial at the top of the flagpole in the same colour as the flagpole.

5 Streetworks and Flagpole masts Flagpole masts can be used in locations where a highly discreet mast solution is required, e.g. in residential or holiday cottage areas. Since 2008, flagpole masts have been used in great numbers by the industry and are therefore a tried and tested product. We supply our flagpole masts as standard in three different diameters: Ø160, Ø229 and Ø273 and in heights from 14 to 23 metres. Panel aerials for one or more operators are installed at the top and concealed by styrene panels in the same colour as the flagpole. Alternatively, we are able to install a Tri-Sector Radome aerial at the top of the flagpole in the same colour as the flagpole. We also supply oversized flagpole tops which have the capacity to house a mini-link, if required. False chimneys False chimneys are used where a concealed solution for up to four operators is required. This is a new and innovative product that has been used by the industry since The advantages of the Chimney mast lies in its slim and rounded design that allows concealed aerials and cabling. Our chimney masts are made of pipes which, with their light grey painted surface, make the chimney blend in seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. Chimney masts are available in heights of up to 42 metres and have the same diameter from base to top of Ø813 mm. The top 12 metres are divided into four sections of three metres each. This allows each operator space for panel aerials and mini-links. The aerials are concealed with coloured styrene panels which do not reduce aerial performance. Our masts are available with flagpole, finial, rope and flag and it can double up as an ordinary flagpole. The above flagpole is designed for two operators. Standard panel aerials are used. These are concealed by a polystyrene cover. Panel aerials and links are concealed by styrene sheets. This mast has room for four operators. Flagpoles can be installed on standard drilled concrete piles or on ScrewFast foundations which ensure shorter installation times and enable easier restoration of the area. Technology can be positioned close to the mast and the cables laid underground or over a cable bridge to the mast. 8 9

The tilt section is used to raise the mast from its horizontal resting point to its vertical position after which it is ready to be raised to its full height.

6 TELESCOPIC MASTS Our telescopic Turbo mast is a top-quality product designed for professional use in locations where function, quality and service life are a priority. Our telescopic Turbo mast comes with a maximum height of 21 metres and consists of three sections as well as a tilt section. The tilt section is used to raise the mast from its horizontal resting point to its vertical position after which it is ready to be raised to its full height. All functions are carried out using auto break hand winches, optional electric winches. All sections of the mast are equipped with corrosion-resistant guide rollers to ensure very precise movement. When the sections hit their top position, they are locked into place to prevent play. Our telescopic Turbo mast can be used as a stationary mast where easy access is required to adjust or replace equipment at the top of the mast. The mast can also be used for mobile purposes as temporary communication site or as camera platform, flood light etc. Quality Carl C. A/S has always been known for supplying high-quality products. Checks and controls of welding work are carried out both internally and by an external control body. Our welding work is always documented by field reports. Carl C. A/S is further certified to DIN , Grosse Eignungsnachweiss, which means that the company has been certified to supply steel structures to the German market. Most recently, we have also become certified to European standard EN 1090, which means that the company is certified to manufacture to Eurocode standards and to CE Mark steel constructions.
