Dear Competitors and Coaches, Thank you for your entries into the British Gas National Diving Championships 2011 Please find enclosed some important information relating to this event, including the final list of entries and Schedule of Events at the end of the pack. The venue The British Gas National Diving Championships 2011 (incorporating the ASA Senior Championships) will be held at John Charles Centre for Sport: John Charles Centre for Sport Middleton Grove Leeds LS11 5DL Telephone: Training The pool will be available for training during the following times: Wednesday 8 th June (Training day) Thursday 9 th June (Training day) Friday 10 th June Saturday 11 th June Sunday 12 th June. Technical Meeting 8.00am- 8.00pm 8.00am 8.00pm 8.00am 10:45am 8.00am 10:45am 8.00am 10:45am A technical meeting will be held on Thursday 9 th June at 6pm, in the diving official s room. All coaches and officials must attend. Please inform the event staff if you are unable to attend the meeting or you are not able to send a substitute. Clothing Please could all competitors be aware that no GB kit is to be worn at any point throughout the championships. During medal ceremonies full club kit or tracksuits must be worn i.e. No towels or bare feet are allowed. All divers and coaches will be expected to wear accreditation during the event, which can be picked up at the Technical Meeting

2 Dive Sheets Divers/Coaches are requested to submit dive sheets electronically, both for their own convenience and to minimize the chance of errors loading the data into the Recording program. Coaches may make bulk submission of dive sheets on behalf of their divers by using the program DiveSheets with which they will already be familiar. Alternatively, individual divers may submit their own dive sheets on-line. Please agree with your coach which method you should use. To submit your dive sheets on-line, browse to and follow the instructions. As soon as you complete the on-line submission you will see a success/failure message. If successful you will be sent an automatic confirming receipt of your details and dives. You can check your submitted dive sheets online at: results page. If you experience problems and need assistance please contact Malcolm Taylor at malcolm@mdt.me.uk. Electronic submissions must be made by no later than midnight on Wednesday 8 rd June 2011.You will be asked to sign hard copies of these sheets at the venue, available from the Recorders in the Diving Officials Room on poolside. If neither you nor your Coach are able to use the above electronic methods, you can submit a hard copy of your lists of dives to the Recorders. Deadline for manual dive sheets is the Technical Meeting. Please note that dive sheets are now required to be signed twice under new FINA rules; once by the diver and once by the diver s coach/representative. Photography Static images will be displayed on the website at the venue and used to promote the sport at this event and events in the future. British swimming and the ASA work closely with our experts to ensure that in making these images available to enhance the presentation of the event; we are not putting any children at risk in any way. If you have any concerns please refer to ASA Wavepower document, section 6, pages The document can be found at The Association is becoming increasingly concerned about the new wave of mobile telephones with a photographic capability, enabling the capture of both static & moving images. Used responsibly, such devices are perfectly safe, but sharing images widely may betray a confidence or even an identity & such information may help those who might want to harm children. The use of such equipment is difficult to control but we can all be vigilant & if you have any concerns in this area, please bring them to the attention of someone responsible. The following is taken from the new ASA Data Protection notice and relates to photography and video images for all events: Recording images: The ASA and British Swimming may record the competition events in which you participate and general images of divers will form part of the information we hold and use. In addition to the purposes for general information set out above, the ASA and/or British Swimming may use these recordings and images for the purposes of education and training, analysis, performance, development, selection and event promotion

3 POOLSIDE ETIQUTTE For insurance purposes, please be advised that only coaches, competitors and event staff will be allowed on poolside. On no account should any other persons be on poolside. Please could you also ensure that competitors, coaches and event staff do not change on poolside or on the spectator gallery and use the changing rooms provided. All divers will be required to sit poolside due to limited seating. MEDICAL DECLARATION FORMS Anyone that is representing Great Britain or their Home Country internationally or competing in a British Swimming, ASA, SASA or WASA National event (all disciplines, excluding masters) and taking medication whether prescribed by a Doctor or purchased from a pharmacy or other retail outlet is required to declare these details to British Swimming / the ASA by completing a Medication Declaration Form. This form is available through your club via the registration/welfare officer and must be completed annually or whenever you or your Doctor change your medication. MEDAL CEREMONIES Please could all competitors wear full club kit or tracksuits during medal ceremonies. No towels or bare feet are allowed. Please ensure that NO GB KIT is worn at any time. SPECTATOR ADMISSION No tickets will be available on the door, please pre order your tickets by ing Natasha.cuthbert@swimming.org and requesting which sessions you would like to attend.
