The seria/rating pate, ocated either on the front frame behind the broier drawer or on the right edge of the foor in the broier compartment, has information on the type of gas that can be used. f this information does not agree with the type of gas avaiabe, check with the oca gas suppier. Converting to L.P. gas shoud be done by a quaified instaer. Gas conversion kt number , avaiabe from your deaer or parts distributor must be used to convert this range for use with L.P. gas. Conversion must be done by a quaified service technician.
3 D w Provide a gas suppy ine of 3/4 rigid pipe to the range ocation. A smaer size pipe on ong runs may resut in insufficient gas suppy. Pipe-joint compounds made for use with L.P. gas must be used. With L.P. gas, piping or tubing size can be /2 minimum. LP. gas suppiers usuay determine the she and materias used on the system. E n f oca codes permit, a new A.G.A. design-certified, 4-5 foot ong, /2 or 3/4.D., fexibe meta appiance connector is recommended for connecting this range to the gas suppy ine. Do Not kink or damage the fexibe tubing when moving the range. A /2 inch mae pipe thread is needed for connection to pressure reguator femae pipe threads. shutoff vave PY t w The suppy ine sha be equipped with an approved shutoff vave. This vave shoud be ocated in the same room as the range and shoud be n a ocation that aows ease of opening and cosing. Do Not bock access to shutoff vave. G w f rigid pipe is used as a gas suppy ine, a combination of pipe fittings must be used to obtain an in-ine connection to the range. A strains must be removed from the suppy and fue ines so range wi be eve and n ine. H n The inet pressure must be a minimum of 1 inch-above the set pressure of the reguator, a maximum of 14 inches tota inet pressure. set Pressure: Natura Gas 4 nches L.P. Gas 10 nches ony after L.P. Converson Kt has been nstaed. n Line pressure testng: Testing above /2 ps (gauge) The range and its individua shutoff vave must be disconnected from the gas suppy pipng system during any pressure testing of that system at test pressures greater than /2 psig (3.5 kpa). Testng at /2 psi (gauge) The range must be isoated from the gas suppy piping system by cosing its individua manua shutoff vave during any pressure testing of the gas suppy piping system at test pressures equa to or ess than /2 psig (3.5 kpa). Eectrica requirements Eectrca ground s required on ths Do Not ground to a gas pipe. Do Not modify the power suppy cord pug. f t does not ft the outet, have a proper outet nstaed by a quafed eectrcan. Do Not have a fuse n the neutra or groundng crcut. A fuse n the neutra or groundng crcut coud resut n an eectrca shock. Do Not use an extenson cord wth ths Check wth a quafed eectrcan f you are n doubt as to whether the appiance s propery grounded. Faiure to foow these nstructons coud resut n a fire, eectrca shock or other persona njury. t codes permit and a separate groundng wire s used, t s recommended that a quafed eectrcan determne that the groundng path s adequate. A time-deay fuse or circuit breaker is recommended. t is recommended that a separate circuit serving ony this appiance be provided. Eectronic ignition systems operate wthin wide votage imits, but proper grounding and poarity are necessary. n addition to checking that the outet provdes 120-vot power and is correcty grounded, the outet must be checked by a quaified eectrician to see f it is wired with correct poarity. The wiring diagram is found on a separate sheet in the iterature package. The wrtng diagram and Tech Sheet can aso be found on the back of the range. Recommended grounding method For persona safety, this appiance is equipped with a power suppy cord having a 3-prong grounding pug. To minimize possibe shock hazard, the cord must be pugged into a mating 3-prong. groundingtype wa receptace, grounded in accordance wth the Nationa Eectrica Code, ANSVNFPA 70 - atest edition* and a oca codes and ordinances. f a mating wa receptace is not avaabe, it is the persona responsibiity and obigation of the customer to have a propery grounded, 3-prong wa receptace instaed by a quaified eectrician. 3-pron groun 8 ng-type wa receptace Now start... With range in kitchen. 1 w Remove shipping materias, tape and protective fim from range. Keep cardboard shpping base under range. Remove oven racks and shipping materias from inside oven. 2 n Adjust eveing egs so there is at east /8 inch between bottom of range and eveing egs. Persona njury Hazard To reduce the risk of tippng of the appiance, the appiance must be secured by propery nstaed toormounted anti-tp brackets supped wth the range. Save these nstaation nstructons. f range s moved to a new ocation, the anti-tp brackets must be removed and renstaed n the new ocaton. Take specia care when drng hoes nto the foor. Eectrca wires or pumbng may be ocated beneath roor. Locate the eectrca crcuts that coud be affected by the nstaation of these brackets and turn off power to these crcuts. Faiure to foow these nstructons may resut n eectrca shock or other persona njury. n Unfod paper tempate and pace it fat on the foor wth the back and side edges positioned exacty where the back and sides of range wi be ocated when instaed. 4 w Use a penci to mark the mounting screw hoe ocations on the foor. Remove tempate. Property Damage Contact a quafed nstaer for the best procedure to dri mountng hoes through your type of foor coverng. Before movng range across foor, check that range s on shppng base, or side range onto cardboard or hardboard. Faiure to foow these nstructons may resut n damage to foor coverng. 5 w To mount ant-tip bracket to wood foor, - dri a 3/16 hoe, /2 deep, at each mounting screw ocation. To mount anti-tp bracket to concrete or ceramic foor, use a masonry dri bit to dri a 3/16 hoe. /2 deep, at each mounting screw ocation. 6 W Pace anti-tip bracket on foor wth turnedup fange racing the front. Line up hoes in anti-tip bracket with hoes dried in foor. Use screws to attach \ bracket to foor. Repeat with right anti-tip bracket. #turned-up fange n Remove shipping base, cardboard or hardboard from under range. Remove storage drawer. Carefuy move range into position. Grasp rear of range and carefuy try to tip range forward. f range tips forward, eveing egs are NOT propery engaged in anti-tip brackets. Remove and reposition brackets so eveing egs wi fit propery under end fanges of brackets. 8 w Pace rack in oven. Pace eve on rack, first side to side; then front to back to check that range is eve. f range is not eve, adjust egs up or down, f needed, pu range forward unti rear eveng egs can be adjusted. Push range back into position and check that range is eve. Note: Oven must be eve for satisfactory baking conditions.
4 Numbers correspond to steps. 18 n After burner iahts. turn contro knob to H position. Check each cooktop burner for proper fame. The sma inner cone shoud have a very distinct bue fame approxmatey 5/B ong. The outer cone s not as distinct as the inner cone. Burner fame is factory set. \ 9-J Do Not make connecton too tght. The reguator s die cast. Overtghtenng may crack the reguator, resuting n a gas eak and possibe fre or exposon. A connections must be wrenchtightened. fexibe connector /2 fare union adapters reguator 9 n Pu range forward to make gas connection. Assembe the fexibe connector from the gas suppy pipe to the pressure reguator, ocated on the ower right hand side on the back of the range, in this order: shutoff vave, /2 fare union adapter, fexibe connector, /2 fare union adapter. Sea a openings in foor or wa wherever range s instaed. 10 n Use pipe-ioint comoound made for use with Natura a-nd L.P. gds to sea a gas connections. f fexibe connectors are used, be certain connector is not kinked. 11 n Open the shutoff vave in the gas suppy ine. Wait a few minutes for aas to move through the gas ine. Do Not use an open fame to test for eaks from gas connectons. Checking for eaks wth a fame may resut n a fire or exposon. 12 m Use a brush and iquid detergent to test a gas connections for eaks. Bubbes around connections wi indicate a eak. f a eak appears, shut off gas vave contros and adjust connections. Then check connections again. NEVER TEST FOR GAS LEAKS WTH A MATCH OR OTHER FLAME. Cean a detergent soution from range, 13 Pug power suppy cord into grounded outet. Pane C manua shutoff vave 0&n c n Move range into fina position. Grasp rear of range and carefuy try to tip range forward to check that both rear eveing egs are engaged in anti-tip brackets. 15 n Turn power suppy on to range. Product Damage Carefuy pace burner cap over eectrode. Faiure to do so may damage eectrode. 16 white eectrode n Aign ocating tabs on burner caps with ocating sots in burner base. Burner cap shoud be eve when propery positioned. Pace burner grates over burners and caps. Eectronic gnition System - initia ighting and gas fame adjustments. Cooktop and oven burners use eectronic ignitors. When the cooktop contro knob is turned to LTE position, the system creates a spark to ight the burner. This sparking continues unti the contro knob is turned to the desired seing. When the oven contro is turned to the desired setting, a gow bar heats up bright orange and ignites the gas. No sparking occurs and the gow bar remains on whie the burners operate. 17 n Check the operation of the cooktop burners. Push in and turn each contro knob to LTE position. The fame shoud ight within 4 seconds. Do Not eave the knob n the LTE poston after burner ghts. 19 turn the contro knob to the LTE position and then to the ow position. The ow fame shoud be a mnmum, steady, bue fame. To adjust the ow burner fame, remove the contro knob and turn the adjustment screw in the center of the vave stem. Check the adjustment by tumng the contro knob from H to ow severa times. The burner is propery adjusted when the ow fame remains steady and the burner does not go out. Check each burner. 20 n Remove oven rack. Remove oven screws at rear of oven bottom. Pu oven bottom rear up and remove front of oven bottom from oven front. Remove oven bottom. Remove burner baffe. Check the operation of the oven burner. Push in and turn temperature contro knob to 300 F. The oven burner shoud ight n seconds. Ths deay s norma. The oven safety vave requires a certain time before it wi open and aow gas to fow. Product Damage Do Not nsert any object nto the openngs ot the protective shied that surrounds the gntor. Do Not cean the area. Faiure to foow these nstructons coud resut n product damage. 21 n Check the oven burner for proper fame. This fame shoud have a 1 ong, inner cone of buish-green, with an outer mante of dark bue, and shoud be cean and soft in character. No yeow tips, bowing or ifting of fame shoud occur. 22. ock screw air shutter orifice hood f oven fame needs to be adjusted, ocate the air shutter near the rear of the oven burner. Loosen the ock screw and adjust the air shutter unti the proper fame appears. Tighten screw. 23 n Repace the oven burner baffe, oven bohom. oven racks and broier drawer. To get the most efficient use from your new range, read your Use and Care Guide. Keep nstaation nstructions and Guide cose to range for easy reference.
5 f range does not operate... Check that the circuit breaker is not tripped or the house fuse bown. Check that the power suppy cord is pugged nto wa receptace. Check that the gas suppy is turned on. NOTE: Reter to Use and Care Guide kr operating nstructons and ceaning nstructons. For ceaning and maintenance... if removng the range is necessary for ceaning or maintenance, shut off gas suppy to the range. Disconnect the gas and eectric suppy. f the gas or eectrica suppy is inaccessibe, ift the range sighty at the front and pu the range out away from the wa. Pu the range out ony as far as necessary to disconnect the gas and eectric suppy ines. Remove the range to compete ceaning or maintenance. Move range back into operating position. Leve the range. Connect gas ine to range and check for eaks. Pug eectric power suppy cord into outet. Make sure that rear egs are engaged in anti-tip bracket. f you need assistance...
