2 1 COREWEST DIAMOND DRILLING LTD. *HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY* Corewest Diamond Drilling Ltd. Is committed to the establishment of a health and safety in the workplace. Management supports participation in the program by all employees and representatives, and is committed to ensuring that proper equipment, safe training, and work ethics are practiced. Through continuous safety and loss control efforts, we can accomplish our goal in having an injury and accident free workplace. We can achieve this by: *identifying risks of all types of work activities *Instruction and training and supervision *Ensuring everyone complies with standards and directions to protect their safety and others Signature Date The safety information in this policy does not take precedence over OHS legislation. All employees should be familiar with OHS acts and regulations.
3 * APPENDIX A* 2. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT *Suitable clothing must be worn long pants,and adequate steel toed footwear * Hardhats, safety glasses must be worn when potential hazards exist * hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs) are to be used in high noise areas * Gloves as needed and when necessary 3. HOUSEKEEPING * Always store materials in a safe manner, Tie down or support materials if needed to prevent falling * Oil and greases should be cleaned up to avoid potential falls/slips * Keep all work areas clean and clear of all loose materials * Do not block aisles, traffic lanes doors, exits or stairs, keep all exits clear COREWEST HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN 4. OBJECTIVES *Identify hazards in the work place *Eliminate or minimize the potential for injuries and accidents *Limit financial losses resulting from accident or injuries

RESPONSIBILITIES A) EMPLOYERS *Do everything reasonably practicable to ensure the health and safety of employees and others present at workplace at which Corewest Drilling is carrying out work *Establish a health and safety policy and program *Provide general direction to supervisors, and workers about their responsibilities and Roles and maintain a healthy workplace *Provide and maintain protective equipment and ensure that they are used *Identify potential hazards thru inspections * Eliminate any workplace hazards that have been identified B) EMPLOYEES RESPONSIBILITIES *learn and follow safe work practices *Report potential hazards to supervisors or employers * Use proper personal protective clothing and equipment *Perform work safely * Not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any other unsafe substances at work 6. RIGHT TO REFUSE *As a condition of employment. COREWEST DIAMOND DRILLING instructs their employees, not to carry out or cause to be carried out any work related process if that person believes to do so would result in hazard to the health and safety of any person. *Any supervisor or employer made aware of such hazards shall investigate the matter and Insure that any unsafe condition is remedied if any such unsafe condition is valid

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT *All personal protective equipment must meet CSA standards *Employees are responsible to wear proper clothing as needed *Wearing work gloves as in required work situations *Proper safety footwear, proper head and hearing protection *Proper safety glasses worn so that they are effective to provide safety in work conditions *All safety equipment shall be worn so as not to compromise any other form of safety equipment * Safety equipment shall be maintained in good working order and in a sanitary condition 8. DRUGS AND ALCOHOL COREWEST DIAMOND DRILLING firmly believes that to maintain a healthy and safe work environment that no use of illegal drugs or alcohol shall be used at any time near or on a work site. Nor shall any such substances be used before anywhere or near getting to a worksite. Any such use whatsoever of illegal substances will result in immediate disciplinary action which may include immediate dismissal. 9. EQUIPMENT INSPECTIONS *COREWEST DIAMOND DRILLING will insure that employees are trained to inspect their machinery and tools regularly, while following the manufacturers recommendations 10. WORKPLACE INSPECTIONS
6 *COREWEST DIAMOND DRILLING will insure that it s workers shall regularly inspect tools, equipment and all worksites for hazards that may cause injury or accidents. Depending on the workplace and types of hazards that might develop, inspections may be scheduled daily, weekly or monthly 11. REVIEWING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES *Reviewing policies and procedures periodically will help with improvement to the workplace 12. FEEDBACK FROM WORKERS * Feedback from workers is welcomed. As workers are on the front line and are most familiar with tasks and processes being undertaken. All employees are encouraged to participate in feedback. 13. INCIDENTS * All incidents should be reported to management the day of the incident unless it is impractical to do so. Or to be reported to management twenty- four hours of the occurrence 14. INCIDENT INVESTIGATIONS/ACTIONS *An incident investigation shall include the following information: a) The place date and time of the incident b )Names and titles of persons involved in incident c) Description of damaged property or equipment involved d) Names of witnesses e) Description of the incident f) The acts, conditions or procedures that contributed to the incident
7 g) Recommended plans to prevent similar incidents 15. SAFETY MEETINGS *COREWEST DRILLING shall hold safety meetings at the beginning of projects and if needed will regularly have meetings to discuss safe work practices and to address any safety concerns that supervisors, employees or anyone else on the worksite has. 16. GENERAL SAFETY RULES Following, is a general list of safety rules that Corewest Drilling requires of its employees: Wear proper personal safety equipment at worksites ( ear and eye protection, hardhats,footwear,gloves etc) Report all near misses and possible hazards to supervisor Report any accidents resulting in injury or damage to persons or equipment Perform all tasks safely Practice proper personal hygiene ( wash clothes,keep areas clean of clutter,wash hands before going in kitchens etc) Operate all vehicles safely and following highway regulations Avoid shortcuts,( take the safest path /route to your destination Do not move or interfere with any safety signs, barricades Get help with heavier items to avoid injury to yourself or damage to materials Use the proper tools for specific jobs and keep tools in good working order No texting while at job sites, while operating vehicles Checking ice thickness is required before venturing on ice. Safe speeds will be applied All work with helicopters( moving equipment, slinging, transport) will be done in a safe manner and proper safety procedures will be followed. 17. FALL PROTECTION *Use proper harnesses for working in heights of 3 m or more
8 * Always check safety harness and fall protection equipment before use for defects 18. MOTORIZED VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT 1) Do not ride on motorized vehicles unless a proper seat is provided for each rider 2) Always be seated when riding authorized vehicles ( unless they are designed for standing) 3) Do not operate any motorized vehicle unless you are authorized to do so by supervisor 4) Use seat belts 5) Follow all speed limits and road regulations 6) Inspect and check vehicles regularly 7) Always have vehicle shut off and parking brake applied when doing inspections 8) Absolutely no alcohol or drugs shall be used when operating vehicles 9) No texting on cell phones while operating vehicles and equipment 10) Checking of ice is required before operating any vehicles. Slow speeds will be applied when driving equipment on ice. A) RIGHTS *Every employee has the right to know the hazards at work *Employees have the right to participate in health and safety plans *Every employees has the right to not participate in work that they may believe to be dangerous. 19. MANDATORY SAFETY RULES * Alcohol (including hangovers) illegal drug use on any of Corewest Drilling worksites is not tolerated * Fighting or any horseplay or practical jokes that may cause /create unsafe working conditions *Theft or vandalism * damaging disabling or interfering with safety, or first aid equipment *Harassment of any kind
9 20. ENVIROMENT Corewest Drilling is committed to the environment in all of its business activities. We are committed to do and will: *Be environmentally responsible in all areas we operate and correct incidents or conditions that may endanger the environment * Develop and improve operations to minimize waste or other pollutants and dispose of wastes safely and responsibly *Conserving energy improving efficiency in our operations *Meet all federal and provincial requirements set where we do business *Ensure that all employees are knowledgeable of and understand and comply with all applicable environmental safety laws and regulations * Correct any practice or conditions not in compliance with this policy 21. ENVIROMENT PROCEDURES * All employees and contractors are expected to practice due diligence to prevent release of hazardous materials into the environment. Storage and handling of all hazardous materials must follow recognized industry standards and meet regulatory requirements *Corewest Drilling will ensure all facilities, machinery and worksites have adequate spill response materials and equipment on site to respond safely and effectively to the such spills *Instructions to respond to safe handling of materials will include the safe handling of equipment, containment procedures, use of proper PPE.
10 * Spills that also are non- reportable shall also be cleaned up immediately *Corewest Drilling will comply with all regulatory requirements to dispose of contaminated substances COREWEST DIAMOND DRILLING LTD.
