The OptiClr Manifld allws the user t cnduct all nrmal spraying peratins as well as d fast, simple spray gun clr changes frm a single lcatin. And the gun clr change nly takes apprximately 30 secnds. Besides the spray gun clr change, the hpper clr change and pwder hse cleaning can be dne independently f the gun clr change while the spray gun peratr is cating parts in a different clr. This unique clr selectin system ffers the user a cntaminatin risk free clr change in a quick, peratr friendly package.

2 Thery f Operatin The system cnsists f tw independent but linked peratins; - spray peratin - hpper center peratin The spray peratin is the same fr each peratr in the bth and the system cnsists f the OptiStar gun cntrl unit, OptiSelect manual gun, and OptiClr Manifld. The OptiStar gun cntrl unit and OptiSelect gun peratin is n different when using the OptiClr Manifld. Fr further explanatin f these devices refer t the apprpriate device perating manual. When using the OptiClr Manifld, the cnveying air and supplementary air frm the OptiStar are cnnected t the OptiClr Manifld. During peratin, the clr selectr switches n the OptiClr Manifld direct the cnveying air and supplementary air t the crrespnding clr hpper OptiFlw pump. The pwder hse cnnected t the OptiFlw pump in turn ges back t the peratr statin and is cnnected t the OptiSelect gun in rder t spray the selected clr. The pwder hses f the ther hpper clrs nt being sprayed are cnnected t the OptiClr Manifld next t the crrespnding selectr switch. Because the switch and pwder hse cnnectins are next t ne anther n the OptiClr Manifld, it is very easy fr the user t identify which clr is selected by which hse is cnnected t the OptiSelect gun. The hpper center peratin manages multiple hppers in rder fr varius clrs t be ready t spray at any time. Each clr hpper has an OptiFlw pump fr each OptiFlex manual gun user. The cnveying and supplementary air cnnectins t the OptiFlw pump are always cnnected regardless f which clr is being sprayed. The hppers can be set up prir t prductin in rder t spray the different clrs needed during prductin. Shuld a hpper clr need t be changed during prductin, this can easily be dne withut interrupting the peratr spraying a different clr. The hpper clr can be changed and the pwder hses frm this clr hpper can be cleaned all while the spray peratr cntinues t cat parts in prductin with a different clr. In additin, the Hpper Center has a fluidizatin regulatr and shut ff valve fr each hpper t give the user the flexibility t set different fluidizatin levels r shut ff hppers individually if needed.

Installatin - Mechanical Installatin Fr the mst user friendly installatin, the OptiClr Manifld shuld be attached t the OptiStar cntrl unit munting bracket as shwn belw. Munt the cntrls vertically at a lcatin near the user pening n the bth. - Electrical Cnnectins Refer t the OptiStar cntrl unit perating manual fr instructin regarding supply pwer and prper interlcking f the electrical cnnectins. Please nte that per NFPA 33 Spray Applicatin f Flammable Liquid and Cmbustible Pwders, the supply pwer t any pwder spray applicatin system must be interlcked t the bth exhauster t nly allw spraying while the exhauster is in peratin and all fire detectin systems (if applicable) are functining prperly.

5 Hpper Center Slenid Valve The slenid valve lcated next t the cmpressed air supply filters n the Hpper Center manifld is included t nly allw fluidizatin air t the hppers and OptiClr Manifld when the bth exhauster is in peratin. Tw means f cnnecting the slenid valve prperly are utline belw; - Pneumatic Cnnectins Cmpressed Air Supply Data 1.25 NPT Cnnectin Clean, dry air required Maximum water cntent 1.3 g/m 3 Maximum il cntent 0.1 mg/m 3 Pressure - 90 PSI min. Vlume 10 CFM per OptiClr Manifld 5 CFM per hpper Air Tubing and Pwder Hse Cnnectins - Because the OptiClr Manifld is set up t select clrs t spray frm multiple hppers, the management f the air tubing and pwder hses is critical fr prper peratin. It is recmmended that the fllwing air tubing and pwder hse labeling utline be used t simplify the installatin and insure prper cnnectins. As shwn in the diagram belw, use a tw number system fr all air tubing and pwder hse lines with the first number representing the peratr

number and the secnd number representing the hpper and OptiClr Manifld selectr switch number. Label each end f the air tubing and pwder hse lines with this tw number system t ensure prper installatin.

OptiClr Manifld Air mver Vent The cmpressed air fr the OptiClr Manifld air mver is supplied frm the Hpper Center manifld. The air mver hse must be directed twards the bth recvery fr prper exhaust f the OptiClr Manifld hse cleaning manifld. A flange is supplied t fasten the air mver hse t the bth r recvery system. Adjust the air mver vacuum capability by pening r clsing the lcking ring n the air mver bdy shwn in the pht. A setting f 0 indicates the minimum vacuum and a setting f 12 indicates the maximum vacuum. Set the red dt n the air mver t 6 as a starting pint during installatin.

7 Clr Change Prcedures - Spray Operatr Clr Change Prcedure 1. Operatr finishes cating the last part 2. Discnnect the pwder hse frm the OptiSelect gun handle 3. Cnnect the pwder hse t the OptiClr Manifld 4. Turn the switch t CLOSE the previus clr n the OptiClr Manifld 5. Use the blw ff gun at the OptiClr Manifld t clean the inside and utside f the gun 6. Turn the switch t OPEN fr the new clr n the OptiClr Manifld 7. Remve the new clr pwder hse frm the OptiClr Manifld 8. Trigger the gun t lad the new clr t the OptiSelect gun 9. Operatr begins cating with the new clr - Hpper Clr Change Prcedure 1. Clse the fluidizatin shutff valve fr the hpper t be changed 2. Open the OptiClr Manifld air mver shut ff valve t allw pwder hse cleaning 3. Discnnect the hpper fluidizatin air line n the hpper base 4. Discnnect the hpper grund cnnectin 5. Discnnect the pump cnveying and supplementary air lines frm the OptiFlw pumps 6. Discnnect the pwder hses frm the OptiFlw pumps 7. Remve the ld clr hpper 8. Use the blw ff gun t clean the pwder hses 9. Place the new clr hpper 10. Cnnect the hpper grund cnnectin 11. Cnnect the pump pwder hses 12. Cnnect the pump cnveying and supplementary air lines 13. Cnnect the hpper fluidizatin air line n the hpper base 14. Clse the OptiClr Manifld air mver shut ff valve t disable pwder hse cleaning 15. Open the fluidizatin shutff valve fr the hpper 16. Verify the pwder is fluidizing crrectly in the hpper and adjust if necessary

8 Maintenance Replacing the pwder hse cleaning check valve. 1. Remve the pwder hse 2. Lsen the pwder hse cnnectin using a 1-1/16 wrench 3. Remve the pwder hse cnnectin 4. Using a small screw driver, pry up arund the utside f the check t remve 5. Replace the check valve (part n ) and reverse the rder fr assembling
