Observe the patient carefully. Never give liquid to a person showing signs of being sleepy or with reduced awareness; i.e. becoming unconscious. Give water (or milk) to rinse out mouth. Then provide liquid slowly and as much as casualty can comfortably drink. Seek medical advice. If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or a Poisons Information Centre. Immediately hold the eyes open and wash with fresh running water. Ensure irrigation under the eyelids by occasionally lifting upper and lower lids. If pain persists or recurs seek medical attention. Removal of contact lenses after an eye injury should only be undertaken by skilled personnel. Not normally a risk due to non-irritating nature of product. If application unintended or irritation occurs, wash with soap and water. If irritation continues seek medical attention. If fumes or combustion products are inhaled, remove to fresh air. Ingestion may result in nausea, abdominal irritation, pain and vomiting. The material is discomforting to the eyes and capable of causing a mild, temporary redness of the conjunctiva (similar to wind-burn), temporary impairment of vision and/ or other transient eye damage/ ulceration. Designed for deliberate application to the skin. Very low risk of irritation to the skin. Not normally a hazard due to non-volatile nature of product. Principal route of exposure is usually by skin contact. Skin sensitisation and allergic reactions can occur rarely in some susceptible individuals.
