2 Technology changes within the Diving industry... Many of the diving support vessels currently in service are over 10 years old, with some older than 30 years. Many of these older DSVs have simple low-tech electronic equipment within the diving system due to their age and the lack of suitable technology at the time:

Remote management and control of instrumentation and sensors saves time and simplifies control rooms. Individual Diver exposure data is available throughout the dive system, to SPHLs and to shore.

10 Challenges for Dive System builders with new DSVs... Dive System suppliers do not manufacture all equipment in-house, so they must work with sub-suppliers. Managing interfaces with equipment suppliers, vessel owners, certifying authorities and the shipyard is difficult and expensive.
