1 Snow Sports NZ is the national organization for all competitive snow sports in New Zealand Our Vision: To be NZ s most inspirational, innovative, exciting and fun sport Our Mission: To lead and support the growth and success of competitive snow sports in NZ Section A POSITION DESCRIPTION Park, Pipe and Freeride Manager (Freeski and Snowboard) POSITION REPORTING TO DIRECT REPORTS LOCATION HOURS OF WORK Park, Pipe and Freeride Manager (Freeski and Snowboard) CEO None however, the role manages the Park and Pipe and Freeride Sport Committees and works closely with the Snow Sports NZ High Performance Team. Wanaka This role involves a minimum of 40 hours per week and will include some working outside normal office hours at weekends and evenings. TERM This is a fixed term contract through until 30 November Snow Sports NZ Park, Pipe and Freeride Manager

3 Section C KEY TASKS & EXPECTED RESULTS This role will play a significant part in Snow Sports NZ achieving its strategic priorities (See 2018 Strategic Plan) that will be ultimately measured by: Ø Organisational Excellence Ø Successful athlete and coach development pathways, and Ø International Success on the World Stage (World Cups, World Championships, Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics) SNOW SPORTS NZ STRATEGIC AREA KEY TASK The tactics EXPECTED RESULTS Excellence Primary point of contact Actively cultivates relationships and engages key stakeholders, so that this role becomes the primary point of contact for all public and member requests around Park & Pipe and Freeride (e.g. calendaring, website, FIS/FWT membership and entries) Winning Strategic direction Working successfully with the Chief Executive, Performance Director, Park and Pipe and Freeride sport committees to develop and implement agreed strategy and tactics for the sports Increased number of athletes competing Clear pathway for athletes and coaches Transparent selection criteria for all squads / teams Excellence Communication Regularly communicate with Park & Pipe and Freeride sport committees Excellence Website Ensure information on the website relating to Park & Pipe and Freeride is accurate, relevant and timely Excellence Planning Develop annual operational plans for Park & Pipe and Freeride in conjunction with the CEO Snow Sports NZ Park, Pipe and Freeride Manager

4 Excellence Budgeting Develop annual operational budgets for Park & Pipe and Freeride in conjunction with the CEO Excellence Reporting Prepare Park and Pipe and Freeride reports for sport committees and Snow Sports NZ Board as required Manage and report against operational plans and budgets Section D PERSON SPECIFICIATION This part of the position description defines the key elements of the Snow Sports NZ Park, Pipe and Freeride Manager. These descriptors of what success would look like will assist Snow Sports NZ in a variety of ways including: Assist in the identification and recruitment of a Park, Pipe and Freeride Manager Assist in the retention of the Park, Pipe and Freeride Manager To keep the Success Profile simple, a framework comprising three components has been created. Essential A passion for Park & Pipe disciplines of Big Air, Halfpipe, Slopestyle (ski and snowboard) A passion for Freeride (ski and snowboard) Proven ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats Superior relationship building skills Development of operational plans and budgets Desirable Experience working with and managing volunteers Event management experience 3. What I Know (knowledge) Our Park, Pipe and Freeride Manager will need to know their stuff. This will ensure they deliver excellence and will contribute to their personal credibility. Essential Knowledge and understanding of Park & Pipe disciplines (as an athlete, coach, administrator or volunteer) Knowledge and understanding of FIS, AFP and FWT rules and regulations Proven ability to use the full suite of Microsoft tools Desirable Knowledge and understanding of Freeride (as an athlete, coach, administrator or volunteer) Knowledge and understanding of FWT rules and regulations Snow Sports NZ Park, Pipe and Freeride Manager
