2 Durga Puja Durga Puja is loads of fun The field is where the villagers run Just to see the goddess of strength Beside her stands the goddess of wealth. We wear new clothes everyday And get up early to see the sun's first ray. Of course we eat lots of food Cause that's one of our main rule. We have many programs and events And we sometimes even set up tents. We sing, dance and entertain too But sometimes we have to go to the loo. But in the end everybody is sad Though there is nothing to feel so bad. Then enthusiasm they gain Anyway, it comes again and again. IT'S MONSOON AND IT'S A LOVELY SEASON!!!! FOR ENJOYING MONSOON THERE ARE MANY REASONS!!!!! THEN THE TREES GO ORANGE AND BROWN... WHEN THE LEAVES FALL SLOWLY DOWN!!!! THE LEAVES CAN ALSO BE ORANGE OR YELLOW IF ONE CAN SEE THIS SHOW, HE'S REALLY A LUCKY FELLOW!!!! NOW WINTER IS NEARING AND HERE'S SOME ADVICE TO ALL. SINCE IT'S GOING TO BE COLD, GET READY WITH YOUR SWEATERS AND SHAWLS!!!! MOSTLY ALL OF US GO ON VACATION!!!! EVEN THE ANIMALS GO FOR HIBERNATION!!!! 22 DHRITI S BLOG MY SUMMER VACATION 2016 FUN, TRAVEL, SLEEP, TV, FOOD, DRIVE, LEARNING AND CYCLING Hello all, I am Dhriti, going to be class 7, in Abacus Montessori School, Perungudi, Chennai, near my home. I love my school and love to enjoy my holidays with family. My little sister Divija is going to PP3 (Pre-primary III) in my school as well. My Mother, Monjuri had planned for vacation during May end. She was busy during April with her work. My grandma Malati stays with us now. Our Masi (Nilima is actually aunt of my parent) takes care of us, in terms of our culinary delights of every day. My Papa remains busy whole day, talking & working. Here is my starting of Summer vacation. I love to eat, sleep, read, enjoy TV. MY SUMMER VACATION STARTED ON 8 TH APRIL, & LASTED TILL 13 TH JUNE Our Masi went to her hometown and my mother planned for two weeks break from her art teaching classes. She had also arranged summer vacation classes for me. Till then, I played with my sister, I watched T.V. Sometimes my mother gave me homework to do, which are mostly related to studies, which I don t like always. After all, it is a holiday for me. OUR PLANNING ACTIVITIES AND OTHER MISCELLANEOUS WORK Papa & myself had planned to lose weight, but we did not do much activities towards that. We also planned to go out with our new cycles, well that happened little bit. That was fun cycling in morning road, empty & smooth so that we can speed up. Bumpers on the roads were real pain. To measure our workout, we used Argus app and plugged ears with some random music. My cycle doesn t have a bottle carrier, so I couldn t able to carry sufficient water to drink, whenever I m thirsty. The cycle also need a phone mounting, so that we can watch our speed. FIRST 2 WEEKS My summer vacation classes had started. First, I went to archery, then I went to cooking, and then art. First few days in archery, we learned to pull the bow, it was a little difficult. But, then it became easy. After a few days, we learned how to shoot an arrow. Next we had cookery, the recipe on the first day was horrible! Nobody liked it except our teacher. But the recipes in the next few days were quiet good! Then we had our art classes. In art classes, we made many things including chef hat and vase. NEXT 4 WEEKS It was like any other holiday of eating, studying, sleeping, etc. OUR TRAVEL PLANS, OPTIONS & FINALIZATION

23 We planned to go out because my mother s vacation had just started. We had a long list of choices, but the budget was told to be limited this time. I love snow, jungle, waterfall, beaches. Papa gave me the responsibility for the planning & I had to find the possibilities. Route, travel, hotels etc. was not easy to search, but I did some of it. We got a list after initial search. First we planned to go to Kodaikanal, then second was Bangalore, and final we planned for Pondicherry. We thought of driving, now we needed to planned the route as well. Our routes for driving. >> It is around three hours drive from home. We needed to have snack, drinks, movies and music for the road. This time we were five members in the car, so we needed to pack properly. So, after a long deliberation on the vacation, finally we all set out to Pondicherry, now Puducherry. FIRST DAY, 22 ND MAY, DRIVE LONG We started at 11:00 am morning. It took us some time at home to get ready, had breakfast [Maggi] and packed our bags for 2-3 days. On the way, we stopped in a restaurant and had lunch. It was Confluence resort after Mahabalipuram. Then myself, my mother and my sister slept in the car while my father was driving. It was bit hot summer, outside was above 40 degrees Celsius. We reached a Resort called The Ashok beach resort. We got a beach villa, like a tent on a sand, but luckily had AC inside. We got two tent houses, side by side and we all jumped into the bed.

We were tired by then, we again took nap till 6:00PM.Then we got up, my parents had tea and my sister and I had milk. All of us had a long walk on the beach road and also had snacks.

. I got up early and had a small walk around the resort with my father and sister. It is nice, green around, sea view, breezing and sounds of strong waves crashing on the sand.

24 We were tired by then, we again took nap till 6:00PM.Then we got up, my parents had tea and my sister and I had milk. All of us had a long walk on the beach road and also had snacks. Then we returned to the resort and had dinner and slept. So, goodnight day#1. SECOND DAY, 23 RD MAY, DAY LONG EXPEDITION.. I got up early and had a small walk around the resort with my father and sister. It is nice, green around, sea view, breezing and sounds of strong waves crashing on the sand. We had a good breakfast and went to Auroville. We took tickets and the bus dropped us near the Matri Mandir. The we saw the Matri Mandir from outside. We were not allowed to get inside. Anyway, the garden at the view point was nice. We had lunch in the canteen, exotic food, nice smell & colors.

We returned to the resort. In the afternoon till evening we slept and had milk and tea. Then we went to swimming in the resort s swimming pool. My sister had swam for the first time.

On the way back to room, we strolled through the large lawn, the sea breeze was nice. Our room was chill by then and we jumped on the bed. Goodnight day#2.

25 We returned to the resort. In the afternoon till evening we slept and had milk and tea. Then we went to swimming in the resort s swimming pool. My sister had swam for the first time. She was super exited to jump into the mini-pool. I jumped in the bigger pool and practiced a few rounds. Then we had dinner in the hotel restaurant. On the way back to room, we strolled through the large lawn, the sea breeze was nice. Our room was chill by then and we jumped on the bed. Goodnight day#2. THIRD DAY, 24 TH MAY, SCORCHING SUMMER, SUN LOVING STREET Oh, I did not like this day much. It was planned for too many site visits and we had to get up early. We went to a museum, churches and a temple. We also saw statues on the beach road. It was really hot outside, we had to drink a lot of cold waters and bought hats for us. The beach road was nice, clean, but empty as it was too hot then.

We had lunch in a restaurant named Atithi hotel, restaurant. And then, went back to are resort. We had a long siesta. We woke up at 6pm, and then went for swimming again.

The water was bit hot, actually rather warm! We had planned for an early dinner. Then, we strolled on the lawn and had a few swings on the hammock. It was tied between two coconut trees on the beach. We went back to room, watch TV and slept. Goodnight day#3. FORTH DAY, 25 TH MAY, DRIVE BACK HOME.. I woke up early. We all got ready, had breakfast and left for home. After a long journey back to Chennai, we stopped by OMR and had lunch in Mainland China. It was my first time I had a half glass of Blue Lagoon, soda. I have never had soda before. We came back home and slept till 7:00pm. We got up then, had milk and watch a movie. Then we all had dinner and slept. AND THE LAST 2 WEEKS These are the weeks I hated the most!!!!!!!!! My father did not let me see T.V. because I did not finish what you are reading right now! At last when I finished, I saw a movie. And it was just like any other day... BACK TO SCHOOL, ROCKING DAY START. It was the first day in class 7, and it is AWESOME! Thanks for reading my blog, hope you have enjoyed. J
