3 Welcome to the Surf Sports and Junior Surf Season. Surf Life Saving Northern Region welcomes you to our Surf Sports and Junior Surf season. The success of all our events is always dependent on the hard work of many people behind the scenes, mainly volunteers. In particular the Sports operational committee and Junior Surf operational committee, their work in planning and preparing for the season is vast. Thank you also to all the officials, administrators, coaches, and team managers who are also vital to our events. To all the participants, enjoy the events, and the camaraderie; and above all perform to the best of your ability so that regardless of the outcome you are proud of yourself as an individual. Our aim is to provide events that showcase and grow the sport activities and participation within our Lifesaving organisation. We look forward to seeing you at the beach, and on the water! 3

For more information about Competition Safety Vests please see Please note vests need to be worn during warm ups and warm downs. Event Safety All Northern Region Surf Sports events are run under a robust Health and Safety Plan. These plans are reviewed for each event and at all times decisions are made to ensure safety of athletes, officials and spectators. Decisions made may not always satisfy participants but safety is always paramount. Safety Documents relating to IRB Racing, Surf Boat Personal Protective Equipment and IRB Racing Personal Protective Equipment can be found here 6
