1 SATURDAY 3:00-5:00pm 5:30-6:30pm Vacationer Check-In A welcome crew of VC Staffers will be eagerly awaiting your arrival in the parking lot with complimentary move-in assistance. Be sure to pick up a parking pass to display on you dashboard for the week. If you are coming in by plane or train, shuttle service is available and arrangements can be made in your pre-arrival information. The Hospitality Coordinator will be available during check-in for additional activity sign-ups or to make any changes to your scheduled activities. Carrillo Dining Commons 6:30-7:00pm New Vacationer Tour New Vacationers are invited to meet at the plaza in front of San Rafael Towers for an overview of the Family Vacation Center s operations and tour of the facilities. 7:00-8:00pm Welcome Show The Family Vacation Center staff will introduce themselves with an exciting show. Following the show, we will excuse the kids to meet their counselors and play games on the lawn, while Sheri Fruhwirth, the FVC Director, and Taleen Askejian, the FVC Assistant Director, will take time to review the week s programs and answer any questions at the Adult Meeting. 1
2 SUNDAY 7:00-8:00am Morning Run Start your day with an invigorating 5 mile guided run through the campus bluffs to the pier at Goleta Beach. 12:30-1:45pm Family Carnival Immediately following the BBQ we begin the Family Carnival. Check out the game booths and group games! 2:00-4:00pm Kids Intro to Tennis Join our Tennis Team on the courts for this fun and interactive tennis event. Kids ages 8-13 are invited to this introduction class. 9:00-11:45am Kids Group and Small World All ages. Kids Groups and Small World meet with their age groups to start the fun week of scheduled events. 9:15-11:45am Tennis Mixer This event is a great way to get information about our tennis program and to learn more about lessons. 9:15-11:45am Santa Barbara Art Walk Shuttle service is offered to the beachside Santa Barbara Art Walk. Local artists and craftsmen display and sell their artwork to the public. 9:15-10:15am Zumba Class This beginning level class is a great introduction to Zumba as a fun exercise. $10 pp 2:00-4:00pm Tennis Competitive Match Play It s time to hit the courts. Our tennis team will match you with other vacationers to guarantee a great time. 2:15-4:45pm Stand Up Paddle Boarding SUP lesson Includes board, paddle, wetsuit and lesson. Ages 10+. $55 pp 2:15-4:45pm Wet suit and surf board provided. For ages $45 pp 4:30pm -8:00am High School Campout The teens will be leaving for their big overnight camping trip. Please bring sleeping bags and warm clothing. 9:15-11:45am Adult Surfing Lessons Surf lesson includes wet suit and board. Must be 13 years or older for adult lessons. $45 pp Kids Group Party This Kids Only Party starts with dinner together followed by fun games, exciting activities and crafts! The Pre-K group should wear their favorite pajamas for their very own Pajama Dance Party! Small World Small World pajama party! 5:30-9:00pm Welcome Mixer and Vegas Night Adults only (21+). Join our crew for a welcome cocktail party hosted by the FVC Supervisors, followed by a dinner at UCSB s unique Faculty Club. Vegas Night will then kick off with Dancing and Casino Play! 9:15-11:45am Kayaking Enjoy ocean kayaking on a single or double sit on top kayak with a guide. Ages 13+, (7-12 okay with an adult) $45pp 9:30-11:30am 10:30-11:30am Yoga The class is for all levels and blends a variety of Hatha styles to create a comprehensive, well-balanced Yoga practice. $10 pp 12:00-1:00pm BBQ on the FVC Lawn 2

Kids groups and Small World meet in age group rooms. will be provided. 9:15-11:45am Stand Up Paddle Board SUP lesson includes board, paddle, wetsuit and lesson. Ages 10+. $55 pp 1:00-4:00pm Crafts is open for ceramics, derby cars and more. Tennis Adult Intermediate and Advanced Lesson Our Tennis Team will direct and guide vacationers who would like to add some polish to their game. This lesson is a great chance to meet other vacationers at your level and set up matches for later in the week. Kids Dance Class Calling all aspiring young dancers! Join us on the FVC Lawn for an introduction to some great dance moves. Rock Paper Scissor Tournament This classic game played against other vacationers. Open to all ages! Bead Animal Class Join the crafts team as they teach you how to make these fun new friends! 9:15-11:45am Kayaking Our tour is designed to give you the chance to enjoy the sport of ocean kayaking on a single or double sit on top kayak with a skilled guide. Ages 7-11 with an adult. $45 pp 9:15-11:45am Tennis Adult Beginning Lesson Are you new to tennis? If so, we are ready to teach you the step-by-step the fundamentals of the game. Join us on the court for this fun, no-stress beginning tennis lesson. All Day Options 9:15-3:30pm Wine Country Tour Adults only (21+). The tour includes tastings at Gainey Vineyard, Firestone Vineyard, and the Consilience tasting room. A delicious lunch is included. $60 pp. 9:15-3:00pm Santa Barbara Hike This hike is a great way to see the beautiful views of Santa Barbara. Sack lunches are included. Please bring a hat and sunscreen and don t forget extra water. The hike is approximately 5 miles long, hilly and suited for intermediate hikers. 11:45-12:45pm Carrillo is available if you're not with Kids Groups, Wine Tour or Hike. 6:30-7:30pm Talent Show A good opportunity to polish up those rusty instruments, wacky skits and have some family fun. Limit one act per guest. 8:00-9:30pm Adults Crafts Night (21+) A special opportunity for the adults to fine-tune their masterpieces. Refreshments provided! Margarita Pool Party (21+) Bring your tackiest Hawaiian shirts as we party at the pool with a hula show, hermit crab races and blended drinks. 8:00-9:30pm 3

The ride will consist of a mixture of road and dirt and is approximately 8 miles. 10:30-11:30am Yoga The class is for all levels and blends a variety of Hatha styles to create a comprehensive, well-balanced Yoga practice. $10 pp 11:45-12:45am 9:00-11:00pm FVC Pub Trivia Night (21+) Come show off your inner Alex Trebek and challenge our staffers in a rousing tournament that will surely get you thinking. UC Admission Lecture UCSB Admissions will host an informational session about what it takes to get into UCSB and the benefits of becoming a UCSB student. 9:30-10:30am Kids Triathlon New! Running, biking and swimming, oh my! It must be the Kids Triathlon. Meet us on the lawn for a fun and friendly competition. UCSB Campus Tour UCSB Admissions will provide a campus tour directly following the admission lecture. FVC Mile New! This is not your ordinary mile run. In fact, you can run, skip, or even crabwalk this mile. The catch is that you must guess your mile time at the start line, and the vacationer who finishes closest to their estimation wins! 9:00-11:30am Crafts is open for ceramics, derby cars and more. 9:00-11:15am Family Rock Wall Located at the UCSB Recreation Center, we will outfit you with a harness, helmet and basic climbing instruction. Children 3 and up will head to the beach for a BBQ lunch. 9:00-11:30am 12:00-1:00pm Beach BBQ at Goleta Beach 9:15-12:00pm Tour of the Botanical Gardens Docent-led tour of the Botanical Gardens featuring native CA plants. $15 pp 1:00-4:30pm 1:00-2:45pm Tennis Serve and Return Instruction This lesson is beneficial to all skill levels focusing on the perfect serve. 9:15-12:00pm Urban Wine Trail New! Visit two tasting rooms in downtown Santa Barbara for wine tasting and hors d oeuvres. $ 25 3:30-4:30pm Water Show An annual tradition is our Water Show on Thursday afternoon at the pool. Wear your bathing suits, as there are relay races and water games for every age. As a big finale, the staff performs a show for the entire family. 12:45-3:15pm Adult Surfing Lessons 9:15-11:45am Kayaking 9:15-12:15pm Santa Barbara Bike Ride This very popular 27-mile bike ride winds through beautiful Hope Ranch and to Shoreline Park. You will need a sturdy bike to make it downtown and back. Road bikes are suggested. 9:15-10:15am Hooping Class Hula Hoop your way to fitness with this staff led hooping class. You will work muscles you didn't even know you had with an exercise that is sure to put a smile on your face. All skill levels welcome! 9:15-10:30am Tennis All Levels Adult lesson Tennis Pro will direct and guide vacationers who would like to add some polish to their game. 10:30-11:45am Tennis Aerobics We will hit the courts for a tennis-based aerobic workout hosted by your favorite Tennis Pros. 6:30-7:00pm Family Photos Meet staff on the beach before Campfire to take your family picture with our photographer. The beach provides an incredible background for memorable family photos. 7:00-8:00pm Campfire No camp experience is complete without a Beach Campfire. Bring your beach towels, portable chairs, flashlights and VC sweatshirts. We meet on the beach right behind Manzanita Village. Roast marshmallows (s mores anyone?) and enjoy a sing-along with your FVC staff. 9:00-11:00pm Adult Karaoke (21+) Join other adults in for some crazy karaoke action. We will provide the drinks, you provide the vocals! 10:30-11:30am Yoga The class is for all levels. $10 pp 6

Kids groups and Small world meet in age group rooms. 9:15-11:15am Nature Walk Enjoy a docent-led 5 mile nature walk to the Coal Oil Point Reserve. All levels welcome. Staff vs. Vacationer Softball Game Rumor has it that the staff has never lost a game! 3:30-4:30pm Pinewood Derby Race You have worked on your cars all week and now it s time to put them to the test. Join other Pinewood Derby racers for a spirited battle on the FVC Race Track. They all will race, but only one winner will take home the cup! 9:15-11:345am Adult Surfing Lessons Surf lesson includes wet suit and board. Must be 13 years or older for adult lessons. $45 pp 9:15-11:45am Stand Up Paddle Boarding Stand Up Paddle Boarding lesson. Includes board, paddle, wetsuit and lesson. It's often silly or sentimental and rarely professional, but who cares it's your children and they are just so cute! Don't miss it. Fairy Tale Themed Be sure to look out for the staffers dressed in costume for the Farewell Show. Farewell Show and Awards The grand finale of the week is the Farewell Show. Special Awards are given to event winners and the staff show off their talents and charm. We conclude with a slide show of the week's activities and memories. It's a wonderful end to a magical week. 8:30-10:00pm Early Check-Out Check-out is available after the Farewell Show for guests who would like to complete check-out paperwork early. 11:45-12:45pm Saturday 7:30-10:00am Checkout This final farewell is a time to close out your tab and fill out a vacation evaluation with comments and suggestions for next summer.
