3 ISA (Surfing SA) and WSL (Africa) Surfing South Africa (SSA) is a member of the SA Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee and Sport (SASCOC) and is the only recognized governing body for the sport of surf riding (better known as Surfing) in South Africa. SSA is responsible for looking after all amateur events in South Africa. SSA is one of the founder members of the International Surfing Association (ISA) which is recognized by the International Olympic Committee as the governing body for World Surfing. Eight provincial affiliates, four national affiliates and a six member elected Board of Directors make up the National Committee (NATCOM) of the organization. Professional Surfing falls under the World Surfing League (WSL). Surfing South Africa accredits all WSL events in South Africa. 18years and under - Juniors The World Surf League (WSL) is the sole governing body of professional surfing. Crowning surfing s undisputed world champions since 1976, the WSL sanctions the following tours: the WSL World Tour (WT), the WSL Qualification Series (QS), the Big Wave World Tour; the WSL World Longboard Championship (WLC) and the WSL World Junior Championship (WJC). The WSL is dedicated to showcasing the world s best surfers in the world s best waves with the International organization supported by seven regional officers in Africa, Australasia, Europe, Hawaii, Japan, North America and South America. The WSL serves to celebrate and grow the history, elite athletes, diverse fans and dedicated partners that together embody professional surfing today. WSL Africa, manages all and accredits all WSL events in Africa 18years and over Juniors

WSL events apply to conventional, long boarding and big wave surfing only. Also, global partners and exclusivity only applies to WCT Events

Combine Surfing SA Events / Projects with WSL Events Include Male and Female athletes into same events Create a South Africa Series for local and overseas athletes Use the recent Cape Town Pro as the blue print and case study of each event Be first WSL Events of the year, and capitalize on current 2 big WSL events, Ballito and J Bay Value

19 Structure & Role Out of City Surf Series Follows the same format as the Cape Town Pro Junior U18 Boys & Girls Surfing SA Learn to Surf programme Men and Women s Pro event Runs between March and June each Year tight and congested PE: March, QS 1000 Durban: April, QS 1000 Cape Town: May, QS 1000 East London: June, QS 1000 SA Open: June, QS 3000

20 Marketing & Commercial Aspects Highlights package and or Series on SuperSport Live webcasting of each event Partner with each City and Province Local media partners National media partners Single event ownership with secondary partnership City / Province Single event ownership with various sub partners Ability to add other event activities to each event model Ability to look at Africa as extension of event model or create a Long Board Series for second half of the year Ability to build each event up to QS or Prime Events

21 Cost Structure QS1000 Event Prize money: includes Junior and Pro events male and female. Event personnel: Judges, MC, Technical staff, Media personnel. Operations: Sanction fees, hospitality, VIP s, event programme, accreditation, branding. CSI programme: food and drinks, clothing, transport and travel. Athlete and Event personnel clothing: (surfers vests, event personnel T shirts. Highlights package: 26mins on SuperSport. Webcasting: R80K live streaming. Marketing & PR: R100K outdoor, radio, social media, print.
