Pioneer track game cards family You re off to a good start. The wagon is ready and everyone is healthy. Move forward The trail is thick with mud and the wagon gets stuck. Pa tries to push the wagona dn breaks his leg. The other wagons pas you because Pa needs to see a doctor, rest and recover. Go back space. Pa s leg is healing but he has to ride in the wagon for a couple more days. Because there is no room in the wagon, you must leave Ma s favorite rocking chair behind. Move forward Ma is expecting a child and is due any day. You make sure you have the pain medicine handy for when the baby comes and an extra blanket. Move forward The new baby is here, but Ma had a really hard labor. In the night the baby died from the cold. Ma is really sick too. Ma needs to get better and you have to stop to bury the baby. Go back The thick mud is making it difficult to travel and the wagon wheel breaks. If you bought a set of tools to fix the wheel, move forward. If you did not buy tools, you must wait for a blacksmith on the trail who will fix it. Go back The wagon wheel is fixed and everyone is feeling healthy and strong again. Move forward During a break, brother takes a walk to see if he can find fresh water. He loses his way and ends up lost. Go back space so that you can find him. You find brother and he has found fresh water. Fill up your empty water barrels. Move forward Thieves in the night came and stole from your wagon. You are missing ammunition, a gun, Ma s favorite teapot and Sister s only doll. Move back space. Along the trail you find an abandoned wagon. To your surprise there is a box of bullets and a Rag doll for Sister, but that is all you have room for. Move forward A fever has spread throughout the wagon trains. Many people have died and Sister seems to be catching something. She needs to ride in the wagon and rest so you have to slow down. Go back space.
Sister caught the fever. You have to stop to wait for a doctor along the trail. Stay where you re at. The doctor came to see Sister. She laid in the back of the wagon until you reached the Salt Lake Valley! (Move forward spaces) But by the time you reached the valley Sister dies. Pioneer track game cards family You have to get started on your long journey. You were frugal with your money and have extra room in the wagon. The wagon is packed. Move forward Along the trail Pa gets bit by a rattlesnake. You are hoping to find a doctor or someone who can help, but he could die. Move back space. Pa needs to rest and another family offers to carry some of your things to make room for him in the wagon. Move forward You came across an Indian tribe. They offered you herbs and medicines to treat Pa and he gets better. Move forward Your wagon wheel is broken. You have tools but still can t get the wheel fixed. You have no money to pay a blacksmith. Move back You came across an abandoned wagon where a family is buried after dying of scarlet fever. You find money hidden in the wagon and can afford to pay the blacksmith. Move forward Sister is very sick and needs to see a doctor. Go back There are no doctors but you have some medicine that may help Sister to get better if she rests. A kind blacksmith helps you fix your wagon wheel for free. Move forward space. You float the wagon across the river successfully without losing anything. Move forward
You need water but there are no clean streams to get water from. The family is thirsty. Brother looks like he is coming down with the measles. Move back space. Another family leaves behind extra blankets that will not fit in their wagon. You have to carry them, but now you will stay warm during the cold nights. Move forward You find a doctor but he says there is no hope for Sister since she has n t had enough fresh water. She dies from dehydration. Go back After burying sister and resting, Brother feels better and recovers from his illness. You also find fresh berries. Move forward Your wagon party is in good health and with all of your items when you get to the valley. You made it! Move forward
Pioneer track game cards family You re off to a good start. The wagon is ready and everyone is healthy. Move forward As brother was loading the wagon, some boxes slid off and caused him to break an arm. Go back space. Brother s arm is healing and the oxen are strong and healthy. Move forward You found an abandoned wagon with extra medicine and wheat. Move forward You had to float the wagon across the river. The wagon flooded and all your dry goods and meat are lost. Go back In an effort to get more food, you go hunting but time is wasted when all you catch is a lb. rabbit. Go back space. The wagon wheel is fixed and everyone is feeling healthy and strong again. Move forward The wagon is heavier with Ma and a new baby riding in it. You don t want to leave behind Ma s favorite quilt so you have to carry it all day. Move back space. The thick mud is making it difficult to travel and the wagon wheel breaks. If you bought a set of tools to fix the wheel, move forward. If you did not buy tools, you must wait for a blacksmith on the trail who will fix it. Go back You successfully float the wagon across the river without losing any items. Move forward Ma had a healthy new baby and is resting in the wagon so no time is lost. Move forward You need to find fresh water so you can fill up your barrels. Stay where you re at. The water you found is bad. Go back space. You have made it to the Salt Lake Valley with everyone in your wagon party alive! Move forward
Pioneer track game cards family The wagon is packed and ready. Everyone is in good health. Move forward One of the oxen went lame. You must wait for him to recover. Go back The ox is better but everyone needs to carry lbs. of the wagon weight to make it lighter. Move forward. Pa and brother went hunting and shot lbs. of antelope. Move forward Brother is sick and needs to rest. Go back When crossing a river a friendly Indian offers to help you. You get across safely without losing any belongings. Move forward A thief came and stole ammunition and your only gun for hunting. Move back space. The thief is caught and you get your rifle and ammunition back. Move forward. Brother is feeling better after his illness. The wagon is lighter because he is not riding in it anymore. Move forward space. The journey is too hard for one of the oxen and he dies. Everyone must carry at least lbs. and you have to leave behind extra clothes and barrels of food so the ox can pull the wagon. Move back Your family finds some wild berries along the trail. Move forward Papa is sick and cannot carry anything. He must ride in the wagon. Leave behind another barrel of food. Go back
Papa is feeling better and the ox is strong and healthy so you keep moving on the trail. Move forward Along the way you find an abandoned wagon. The wagon contains food and money. You use the money to buy an ox and load up the food in your wagon. You are able to move faster and reach the Salt Lake Valley! Move forward
Pioneer track game cards family The frozen river is one of the first obstacles you face. This takes a lot of time and you are already behind schedule. Stay where you are. While traveling brother gets a severe tooth ache and has to have his tooth pulled. There are no doctors and brother is in a lot of pain. This causes you to wait a day. Go back space. While waiting to find a way around the quicksand brother and sister find a lot of buffalo chips that can be burned for fires at night. Move forward You make good time now that you have successfully crossed the river. Move forward spaces You are tired of counting the revolutions of the wagon wheel to keep track of how far you travel each day so you figure out a way to attach a peg to the wagon that makes a loud clicking sound each time the wheel goes around. Everyone in your wagon train is really excited. Move forward After traveling many long days to catch up with a large herd of buffalo. The in your wagon train are able to kill just enough buffalo to have fresh meat for all the families. Move forward You are worried when a large group of Pawnee Indians meet the wagon train. They turn out to be friendly and trade you one item of your choice for two blankets. Move forward Things have been going well until today. You have run into a large stretch of quicksand. The men spend two days trying to find a way around it. Go back You are excited when you reach Chimney Rock because you know you are almost halfway to Salt Lake. The excitement is ruined by bitter cold that causes your baby sis to die that night. Move back The mountains are getting more rugged which causes a wagon in your company to overturn and the family loses everything. You are forced to share what little you have with them. Move back space. Ahead on the trail you find other wrecked wagons. The wagons are useless but you find supplies that are helpful. Move forward There are wild berries on the trail. You are able to pick enough to use for one week s food supply. Move forward
Severe rain and hail are upon your wagon train. You sense that you are close to Salt Lake, but still you have to wait out the storm. Move back space. Finally the hard work as paid off. You are at the top of Emigration Canyon and can see a few log cabisn in the distance. You ve made it! Move forward
