2 Bus Trips We're traveling in the YMCA bus to the Das Dutchman Essenhaus restaurant and shops in Middlebury. Join us as we enjoy the lunch buffet, then browse the shops for unique gifts and collectible items including quilts and Amish made crafts and foods. A limited number of spots is available so register quickly! CPR/AED Training This 3-hour training will teach the basics of adult, child and infant CPR and the use of the AED. Course includes a course completion card. Dance Classes Middle & High School Dance - Whether you want to learn a new dance style or just enjoy moving to the music, come join our Youth Dance class. This class is set up just for teens. Bring your friends and your dancing shoes! Family Game Night Bring your entire family and enjoy a night of fun playing games or making crafts in the lobby of the Jorgensen YMCA. All ages welcome and free for members! (Second Friday of every month) First Aid Training This 3-hour course will the basics of First Aid. Course includes materials and course completion card. Foreign Languages Adult Spanish Class - This conversational Spanish class for beginner to intermediate levels is perfect for anyone wishing to learn Spanish for the first time or as a refresher course. Our instructor teaches at college level and will help you reach your fluency goals. Preschool Spanish - Over a series of sessions, this course will teach your child basic vocabulary such as colors, days of the week, foods, body parts, numbers, the alphabet, and much more! Each session builds upon the last. Gymnastics-Little Bodies in Motion Focus is on large and small motor skills, coordination, and balance. Kids will enjoy rolling, running, hopping, skipping, jumping and learning basic tumbling moves. All tumbling classes have a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 participants. After the first week, classes may be combined or cancelled due to enrollment numbers. Gymnastics-Parent/Child Tumbling In this teacher-guided class, you work with your child to practice basic stretching, use large motor skills, and learn body awareness. This is a wonderful time to play, laugh, and enjoy a unique activity together. All tumbling classes have a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 participants. After the first week, classes may be combined or cancelled due to enrollment numbers.

4 Gymnastics-Pre School Rollers This class will introduce your child to tumbling and is designed for fitness and age-appropriate skill development including forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, bridges, and balancing. After the first week, classes may be combined or cancelled due to enrollment numbers. Gymnastics-School Age See previous description of the rollers class skills. The school age class is 45 minutes rather than 30 and focuses more on the skill level of this age group. After the first week, classes may be combined or cancelled due to enrollment numbers. Homeschool Programs Enjoy being a part of a program that brings together home school students from around the area. Students in Home School PE will benefit from swim lessons, tumbling lessons, sports instruction, and for the older students, a strength training component. Jorgensen New Member Reception Bring your team and test your skills against the rest! Don t feel like playing dodge ball? Come root on your favorite team, eat pizza, hang with your friends and listen to music. MobileFit Programs Learn How to Use our MobileFitInteractive Wellness Program - You will learn all about MobileFit and how it can benefit your exercise program goals in this 45-minute session. The session includes registration and set up on the program. This is open to both new and current members. These sessions meet on the third Saturday of each month. 6 Parents Night Out Let the YMCA entertain your child while you enjoy a night out! Activities include a pizza dinner, gym games, crafts, swimming, rock wall, and a movie & popcorn. Please see the registration form for more details about what to bring and what to expect. Registration starts the 1st of each month. $5 sibling discount for each additional child. Piano This seven week introductory piano class is offered to kids interested in trying out piano. Beginning skills taught in this small group setting will include basic music understanding, finger positioning, note recognition, and other fundamentals. If you decide you re ready for the next level, individual private lessons are also offered. Contact the Youth & Family director for more information or to schedule private lessons. Safe Sitter Babysitter Class This course will teach potential babysitters how to care for a choking infant or child, basic first aid, personal safety for the babysitter, injury prevention, how to care for children (feeding, diapering, etc.), preventing problem behavior, behavior management, ethics and babysitting as a business. Students must be able to attend all 4 classes. Special Events Last year s party was so spook-tacular that we re doing it again! Put on your costumes and join us for our one-of-a-kind Halloween party. Activities will include a costume parade, games, crafts, treats, balloon animals, face painting, and more spooky fun all in a safe environment. All ages welcome! Special Interest Classes & Clubs Photography Class - Whether you re a seasoned photographer or simply enjoy taking pictures, our class will help you capture better images by teaching you the use of light and background and other techniques that will improve your pictures. Bring your own camera and we will explore the world behind the lens. Weight Management Enroll in this program as an individual or get your friends together and support each other during this challenge. The challenge includes a pre-and post-weigh-in, educational materials and seminars by wellness professionals. A special reward is given to each individual who meets their?contract? of maintaining their weight at the end of the challenge. Pick up a flyer at the Wellness Center for specific days and times for weigh-ins. Youth Flag Football Seven week indoor football program which will focus on skill development as well as practice and games play. Program consists of 1/2 practice and 1/2 game.

8 Swim Lessons Age 0-3 Lv 1 & 2 (Shrimp/Inia) Parent & Child Level 1, 2 (Shrimp/Inia)- Instructor determines Level. This class introduces basic skills to parents and children. Parents are taught to safely work with their child in the water, including how to appropriately hold their child in the water. Children are introduced to exploring getting wet, blowing bubbles, back floats, leg actions and arms actions. Level 2 (Inia) also includes teaching children safe entries and exits, floating, gliding, and combined arm and leg actions. Swim Lessons Age 0-3 Lv 3 (Pike) This is a transition class from parent/child to independent group lessons. The goal for this class is to build confidence, learn water safety practices, get the face wet, and introduce basic skills that they will learn in preschool group lessons. This class is designed to increase comfort levels in an aquatic environment until the child is ready for group lessons. Swim Lessons Age 3-5 Lv 1 (Eel) This class teaches elementary aquatic skills, which children continue to build on as they progress through the preschool levels. Skills presented are performed with support or assistance for blowing bubbles/ submerging, front & back glide, front & back float, treading, and swimming on front and back. Swim Lessons Age 3-5 Lv 1&2 (Eel/Ray) Lvl 1 (Eel) - Instructor determines level. 10 Swim Lessons Age 6-12 Lv 1 (Polliwog) This class teaches the most elementary aquatic skills. Children develop positive attitudes, good swimming habits and safe practices in and around the water. Skills taught include: blowing bubbles, submerging, front & back float, front & back glide, treading, and swimming 5 yards on front and back. Swim Lessons Age 6-12 Lv 2 (Guppy) This class works to build confidence and encourage children to try skills on their own in deep water. Children continue to develop simultaneous and alternating arm and leg actions on their front and back that lay the foundation for future strokes. Skills taught include: submerging, bobbing, front & back float, front & back glide, 30 seconds treading, whip kick, 2 minutes resting stroke, and swimming 10 yards each of front crawl and back crawl with overarm recovery. Swim Lessons Age 6-12 Lv 3 (Minnow) This class builds on the skills of learn-to-swim level 2. We teach children to improve coordination, stroke technique, and endurance. Skills taught include: streamline, surface dives, dolphin kick, open turns, 1 minute tread water, 25 yards front crawl with rotary breathing, 25 yards back crawl, 25 yards elementary back crawl, and 15 yards rudimentary breast stroke. Swim Lessons Age 6-12 Lv 4 (Fish) This class is geared toward swimmers who want to increase endurance and refine their stroke technique. Instructors will focus on stroke refinement drills, proper turns, and advanced strokes. Skills taught include: surface dives, sculling, flip turns, 50 yards of front crawl with rotary breathing, 50 yards of back crawl, and 50 yards of backstroke, 25 yards each of breaststroke, butterfly and sidestroke, 100 yards individual medley. Swim Lessons Age 6-12 Lv 4&5 (Fish/Flying Fish) Fish - This class is geared toward swimmers who want to increase endurance and refine their stroke technique. Instructors will focus on stroke refinement drills, proper turns, and advanced strokes. Skills taught include: surface dives, sculling, flip turns, 50 yards of front crawl with rotary breathing, 50 yards of back crawl, and 50 yards of backstroke, 25 yards each of breaststroke, butterfly and sidestroke, 100 yards individual medley. Flying Fish - Swimmers in this advanced level focus on stroke enhancement including breathing, body position and arm and leg movements, as well as build endurance in all strokes. The butterfly stroke is also introduced at this level. Flying Fish Swimmers review first aid and safety, and discuss personal ground rules and risk taking. Pre-requisites: pass Fish or ability to perform these skills: Front and back crawl (50 yards), breaststroke, sidestroke, and Dolphin kick (25 yards), and tread water for 3 minutes continuously. Swim Lessons Age 6-12 Lv 6 (Youth Conditioning) (Shark) - Swimmers focus on perfecting their strokes and further increasing their endurance. Swimmers are introduced to competitive swimming skills of flip turns, and individual medleys, and learn about heart rates and developing good health habits. Pre-requisites: Pass Flying Fish or ability to perform these skills: Front and back crawl (100 yards), breaststroke, elementary backstroke, sidestroke (50 yards), Butterfly (25 yards), and tread water for 6 minutes.
