It s a fun and affordable way to relax and enjoy your summer with family and friends. Remember that the more times you visit the Ottawa Street Pool, the more you save! Patrons must register in person for pool passes! New pool passes will be issued to all pass holders for the 2019 season. Early Bird Season Pool Passes Prices good through June 3. Be sure to take advantage of our Early Bird Discount Rates - A 30% SAVINGS! The Plainfield Park District requires proof of residency when purchasing a season pass. A current driver s license, voter s registration card, or tax bill. 2. When registering, please include all names and birthdates of family members you are purchasing a family pass for on your registration form. 3. Family Pass: includes Father and/or Mother and all children who are under 18 years of age who have permanent residency at the family address. 4. Senior Pass: A Senior Citizen is anyone 55 years and older. 5. Individuals 16 years and older are required to show a Drivers License/State I.D. before they may pick up their pass. 6. Each family member will be issued a pass bearing their name. Pass Replacement: Replacement fee is $5 per pass. Daily Admission Fees Everyone passing through the admissions area is required to either pay the daily admission fee or present their season pass. You may only pay by cash or credit card, no personal check will be allowed. Family Float Nights Every Tuesday 6:30-8p Bring in floats, rafts and other fun items you would like to enjoy at the pool. Parental supervision is the water is mandatory. Five feet maximum length on the rafts and lifeguard has discretion to deny any device for safety reasons. 3 Pool Closing Guidelines: The Ottawa Street Pool reserves the right to close the facility due to inclement weather or low attendance. Inclement Weather *If the outside temperature does not reach 70 degrees by the time of opening, Ottawa Street Pool will be closed until 4:30p. *Swimming is prohibited when thunder is heard or lightning is seen. The pool will close for a 30 minute period after the last lightning or thunder is detected. If the pool is closed due to rain and the weather clears by 2:30p, we will attempt to re-open by 3p. Otherwise the pool will remain closed until the next open swim time. Low Attendance Ottawa Street pool reserves the right to close the pool due to low attendance. If the attendance does not reach 20 patrons within the first two hours the pool will close until the next open swim time. Rain out checks may be issued to those participants paying daily admission into the Ottawa Street Pool and who are rained out within the first hour of their visit. NO CASH REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED. FLICK-N-Float at Ottawa Street Pool Don t miss out on the ultimate cinematic experience! Here s your opportunity to enjoy a movie while floating on a tube at the Ottawa Street Pool! Plainfield DARE Night Out: Teen Pool Party FREE! The annual DARE National Teen Night Out is an event held for former Plainfield School DARE graduates in 6th through 9th grade. This event is designed for DARE graduates to interact and reunite with not only each other but also their DARE Officers and fellow Plainfield Police Officers. The DARE program annually teaches approximately 1,200 students in the Plainfield School District. Come out and some enjoy music, games, pizza and fun! 4 Ages 3-5 Summer Swim Ottawa Street Pool This level encourages young swimmers to be comfortable in and around the water. Games and songs are used in teach supported floating, kicking, front arm movements and various water safety skills. Participants will spend 15 minutes in the little pool and the second half of the class will be spent in the big pool. Ages 3-5 In this level participants will have class in the big pool. They will work on basic aquatic skills (i.e. breath control, submerging, supported and unsupported floats). With assisted instruction and encouraged independence, participants will begin to develop fundamentals for front and back crawl. Basic water safety skills are also covered. Ages 3-5 Participants must have successfully completed preschool level 2 before registering. At this level they will continue to build on their skills from previous levels. They will learn unsupported floating and kicking as well as front crawl and beginning back crawl movements. Basic water safety skills will be covered. All skills will be performed independently. : Introduction to Water Skills Ages 6-12 In this level children will work on under water, opening eyes underwater, bobbing, supported and unsupported floating and kicking, glides, and beginning arm movements. Children will also work on swimming on their front with assistance for two body lengths. Basic water safety skills are also covered. : Fundamental Aquatic Skills Ages 6-12 In this level children will learn unsupported floating and kicking, front crawl movements and beginning back crawl movements, while also learning basic water safety skills : Stroke Development Ages 6-12 This level focuses on improving front crawl, back crawl and learning elementary backstroke. They will build up to swimming 15 yards of front crawl with proper breathing technique and treading water for 30 seconds independently. Scissors kick, butterfly kick, and headfirst entries into water are introduced at this level also. : Stroke Improvement Ages 6-15 Breaststroke and butterfly are introduced at this level. Front and back crawl as well as elementary backstroke are perfected. : Stroke Refinement Ages 6-15 Children will practice all competitive strokes and must perform them properly over longer distances (up to 50 yards per stroke). They will learn competitive turns and various deep water surface dives. : Ages 8-15 Building endurance is the focus of this level. Swimmers will build up to a 500 yard continuous swim and 5 minutes of treading water in addition to learning various surface and springboard dives. 17

8 Parent/Child The goal of the Parent/Child class is to provide the parent with bonding time with their child in a fun, enjoyable atmosphere. Skills covered in this course include exploring buoyancy on the front and back, and introduction to submerging the mouth, nose, and eyes. Participants will spend the first 15 minutes of each class in the little pool and then move to the big pool for the remainder of the class. This class will meet Monday -Thursday with Friday as a make up should the park district cancel class due to weather. PPD Ages 1-3 R$22/NR $28 Min. 4/Max. 6 No Class July 4 Parent/Child This class takes place in the big pool for the entire time. Skills developed at this level are opening eyes underwater, bobbing, floats, glides, and swimming on front and back with assistance.
