Pool Guidelines It is our aim to provide you with an enjoyable swimming experience. Please follow these guidelines. Adults are classified as yrs and above.

2 Pool Guidelines It is our aim to provide you with an enjoyable swimming experience. Please follow these guidelines. Adults are classified as yrs and above. Children under 8yrs of age must be accompanied by an adult in the water at all times. The following adult to child ratios apply Small Pool: Children under yrs: adult to children Children aged -7yrs: adult to children Combination of ages: adult to children Main Pool: Children under yrs: adult to child Children aged -7yrs: adult to children Combination of ages: adult to child Swim Nappies: Working on the advice of the Institute of Sport & Recreation Management all children up to yrs of age must wear swim nappies before entering the pools. These are available for sale at reception. Please shower before entering the pool. School Holidays: During School and Bank Holidays the Pool Timetable may change please either visit our website ( or call the Leisure Centre in advance. Groups: Should you be a member of a large group or club ( people or more) we would really appreciate it if you could call to let us know when you intend to swim. Medical Advice Swim l T For anyone with disabilities or for those who are advised to swim for medical reasons. Rookies 8-yrs l B l K l T Rookies Junior Lifeguards club covers water rescue and emergency response with competitions and challenges. Swim 0yrs+ l B l K l L l T For people aged 0+ looking to swim in a relaxed, social atmosphere. The diving boards at Kingswood are open for use during the last -minutes during set sessions. Scuba Diving 8yrs+ l T Learn to PADI Scuba Dive with Hidden Depths field training team for young divers on our action packed, underwater fun course. All equipment provided. Staff Training l B l K l L l T l Y Pool sessions allocated for staff development and training courses, such as NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification) and Swimming Teachers Courses. NPLQ and Swimming Teacher Courses l B l K l L l T l Y The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is a standard qualification for lifeguarding in any UK swimming pool. The National Plan for Teaching Swimming Our lessons follow the National Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS) devised by the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) who support the delivery of swimming lessons across the UK ensuring all teachers/coaches are fully ASA qualified and receive Continual Professional Development. The plan takes the non-swimmer through to a competent swimmer where skills are acquired through an environment where emphasis is placed on fun.
