1 2017 South Island Country & Town Competition Saturday 1-2 April 2017, Moana Pool, DUNEDIN This meet will be swum under SNZ and FINA Rules and Regulations, along with SNZ By-Laws, with the following specific conditions and criteria; Eligible Swimmers: Please see below the Swimmer Eligibility Example Open to all current financial registered competitive swimmers. The qualifying period is from the 1 st January 2016 to 14 th March A swimmer who has qualified for two or less SIC&T events may also enter one (1) unqualified event. Swimmers who hold a PARA classification are eligible to participate in this competition and will be seeded amongst able bodied athletes based on entry times. It is the responsibility of the swimmer with the disability (or their Team Manager) to inform the Meet Director prior to the start of the meet of their PARA Classification and to supply the Meet Director with their PARA classification card. The Referee will use their best efforts to judge the swim under the applicable IPC Rules. Reminder: qualification for the 2017 NZ Junior Festival or 2017 NZ Division II Competition is based on whether the swimmer has obtained the required qualifying time for the Individual Medley (IM) Any swimmer who has NOT qualified for the 2017 NZ Junior Festival or 2017 NZ Division II Competition, may swim any events they have qualified for. Any swimmer who has QUALIFIED for the 2017 NZ Junior Festival must NOT have achieved more than two (2) qualifying times (including 50m events). Any swimmer who has QUALIFIED for the 2017 NZ Division II Competition must NOT have achieved more than two (2) qualifying times (including 50m events). Swimmers who have qualified for one or two events at the 2017 NZ Junior Festival or 2017 NZ Division II Competition may enter this meet but not compete in individual stroke(s) for which they have qualified for at the 2017 NZ Junior Festival or 2017 NZ Division II Competition. NON-Eligible Swimmers: Swimmers who have attended the NZ Junior Festival or NZ Division II Competition in Swimmers must NOT have qualified for any events for the NZ Age Group or NZ Open Championships in Meet Conditions: Age as at 1 st April Age groups are 10 years & under, 11 years, 12 years, years and 15 years & over, except for; 200m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and IM events where the age groups are 12yrs & under, years and 15years and over. 200m Butterfly is an open event. To be swum as Short Course (25m) in an 8-lane pool using automatic timing. Qualifying times are published as short course 25m. Qualifying times swum in pools other than 25m must be converted using the SNZ Conversions. Swimmers declared entry time shall be the fastest official time swum in the qualifying period.

2 All unqualified event entry times will be verified against the SNZ results database. Performances from regional and local competitions not held within the SNZ results database will not be eligible for entry. No Times (NTs) will not be accepted; all entries must have a time swum in the qualifying period, including unqualified events. Protest fee is $ Payable upon submission of a correctly completed protest form. All participants must agree to comply with the Sports Anti-Doping Rules. In entering this competition, participants agree to allow photograph, video, multimedia or film likeness taken by accredited photographers to be used for any legitimate purpose by Swimming Otago or others that have been approved by Swimming Otago. Individual entries: All events will be swum as timed finals, resulted and scored into age groups, except; 200m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and IM will be resulted and scored into 12yrs & under, years and 15years and over age groups. 200m Butterfly will be swum as open event, resulted and scored accordingly. Regional Relay Entries: Relays will be regional and swum in each of these age groups; 10 years and under, 11 & 12 years, years and 15 years and over. Swimmers may swim up an age group but not in more than one age group per event, and remain in that age group for the entire meet. Qualified NZ Junior Festival or NZ Division II Competition swimmers may be selected for any stroke within the medley relay. Relays can be either mixed (any combination) or single gender. Withdrawal Procedure: Withdrawals for session 1 must be notified to the meet recorder not less than 24 hours prior to the start of the meet. For subsequent sessions, withdrawals must be notified not more than 30 minutes after the end of the previous session. There will be a fine of $50 for any withdrawal not on accordance with this rule, except for medical injury or disability as judged by the Meet Director. Meet Awards and Scoring: Ribbons shall be presented to the 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd placegetters in both individual and relay events. 200m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and IM will be resulted and scored into 12yrs & under, years and 15years and over age groups. 200m Butterfly will be swum as open timed finals, resulted and scored accordingly. Individual and relay events shall be scored as follows: 1 st =14, 2 nd =12, 3 rd =10, 4 th =8, 5 th = 6, 6 th =5, 7 th =4, 8 th =3, 9 th =2, 10 th =1. Regional Team Competition. The points accumulated by regions in individual and relay events, over the meet are to be divided by the number of competitors in the regional team (at the commencement of the meet) to find the overall winning region. A trophy will be presented to the winning region. Club Team Competition. Club points will also be allocated and a trophy will be presented to the club scoring the highest points in the following two categories. Clubs with 7 or more swimmers at the commencement of the meet. Clubs with 6 or less swimmers at the commencement of the meet.

3 Officials: Technical officials are to register their availability through MyPage. Please names of parents who can assist as timekeepers, marshals, announcing etc, including which sessions to Swimming Otago. Entry Procedure: Online entries only. Entries Close on Tuesday 14 March Late entries will NOT be accepted. Regions only please the following to Regional Managers and Coaches Forms. List of swimmers 1 unqualified event, include event name, number and entry time. Entry Fees: Individual Events $9.00 each and Relay events $15.00 per team. Qualification for the 2017 NZ Junior Festival or 2017 NZ Division II Competition was based on whether the swimmer had obtained the required qualifying time for the Individual Medley (IM) if the swimmer has not Qualified in the IM and therefore was not eligible to attend either of the above meets they ARE eligible to swim at SIC&T in any event they have meet the qualifying times for in the SIC&T meet. e.g. 100 free, 100 back, 50 breast, may have been Division II times but as there is no IM they can swim any of these events. 3. Swimmers who had qualified for one or two events at the 2017 NZ Junior Festival or 2017 NZ Division II Competition in the Individual Medley may enter this meet but not compete in the Individual Medley and/or individual stroke(s) for which they have qualified for at the 2017 NZ Junior Festival or 2017 NZ Division II Competition. e.g.: 100IM, 50 free, may have been Division II times so they cannot swim these two races but ARE eligible to swim at SIC&T in any other events they have meet the qualifying times for in the SIC&T meet.
