Friday, May 29, 6-8pm Eaton High School Swim Pool Age: 7 and older, Fee: $7 Register April 27* - May 15 Open Swim Monday, June 1 - Thursday, July 30 Monday - Thursday 12:30-3:30pm *Pool Closed June 29 - July 2 Eaton High School Swim Pool Pool Rental The Eaton High School Indoor Swim Pool will be available for private party rental on Saturdays and Sundays 1-4pm, June 6 - July 26. Day Pass, Fee: $3 Valid June 1 - July 30 Must be 6 and older Summer Pass, Fee: $75 Valid June 1 - July 30 Must be 6 and older Pool rental reservations must be made in person at the Eaton Recreation Department a minimum of two weeks prior to the event. Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by a responsible adult, and are required to pay a day pass fee of $2. A ratio of one adult per four children is required. Open Swim Rules & Regulations: Swimsuits only, NO cut-offs. Every swimmer MUST shower at the pool before entering the pool. NO horseplay. NO chewing gum. NO glass containers or food in the pool area. Lifeguards have the right to expel any swimmer(s) who do not follow pool rules and regulations. The following fees must be paid at the time of reservation. $50 refundable damage deposit $150 non-refundable rental fee for up to 35 people $175 non-refundable rental fee for up to 50 people You may bring your own pool accessories, music, and refreshments in plastic containers. All swimming lessons are on a first-come, first-served basis. All classes are at the Eaton High School Indoor Swim Pool. Level 1 - Submerge entire body under water, roll front to back and back to front, demonstrate arm and leg movement for 5 ft. on front and back, and safety skills. Level 2 - Bob 5 times going under water, open eyes and pick up submerged object, combined arm and leg movement for 15 ft. on front and back, swim on side, front and back glide, and safety skills. Level 3 - Jump into deep water, head first water entry, perform rotary breathing, tread water 30 seconds in deep water, front and back crawl 15 yards, butterfly kick and body motion 15 yards, and safety skills. 3 Level 4 - Back float 1 min., feet first surface dive, front and back crawl 25 yards, butterfly, elementary backstroke and breaststroke 15 yards, swim on side using scissors kick, and safety skills. Level 5 - Shallow dive glide 2 body lengths and begin any stroke, back float and survival float 2 minutes, front and back crawl 50 yards, butterfly, elementary backstroke, sidestroke and breaststroke 25 yards, and safety skills. Level 6A - Front and back crawl 100 yards, elementary backstroke, butterfly, sidestroke, and breaststroke 50 yards, survival and back float 5 minutes, survival swimming 10 minutes, various surface dives. Level 6B - Front and back crawl 100 yards, elementary backstroke, butterfly, sidestroke, and breaststroke 50 yards, swim various strokes with rescue tube trailing behind, throwing assist, beach drag, carry object swim on back with face out of water.
4 Children's Programs Yum! A bug cupcake! Summer Theme Days Summer Theme Days are a great opportunity for kids to explore their imagination through FUN activities! Kids are encouraged to dress up and bring an item for show and tell according to the theme. Bug Exploration Day Wild West Day Princess Day Animal Safari Day Thursday, June 11, 10-11am Thursday, June 25, 10-11am Thursday, July 9, 10-11am Thursday, July 23, 10-11am Look at my bugs, Mom. Age 3-6 yrs. Cost $5 per party Eaton City Park Registration for all theme days starts April 27* and are available until full. A Princess! A Cowgirl! Play Time at the Park! Enjoy playtime with your friends this summer at the park! Parents and children will enjoy FUN, kid-friendly toys and games. An adult must accompany every child and participate throughout Play Time (a ratio of one adult per two children is required). In the event of inclement weather Play Time will be held at the Eaton Activity Center. 1-5 yrs. 5 T-Ball Start Smart T-Ball Start Smart Programs help prepare children for organized sports in a FUN, non-threatening environment focusing on a variety of skills. Parent participation is required in order to give children the opportunity to work one on one with them while learning the basic fundamentals of a sport. Summer Session is 4 weeks 3 yr Monday, 4-4:45pm June 1 - June 22 4 yr Wednesday, 4-4:45pm June 3 - June 24 Cost $20 Limit 16 Eaton City Park In the event of inclement weather a makeup is scheduled for Monday, June 29. Wednesday, July 22 12:30-3:30pm Eaton High School Pool *Free to Little Reds T-Ball participants Little Reds Programs give young players the opportunity to learn and play sports. Emphasis is placed on learning basic fundamentals and having FUN. Little Reds Programs are based on Parent Volunteer Coaches. Parent Volunteer Coaches are required to attend a Coaches Meeting at the Eaton Recreation Department. Parent Volunteer Coaches will be reimbursed the league fees for volunteering their time with a Recreation Voucher at the end of the season. See page 10 for Recreation General Information. Little Reds League Participants must purchase a universal jersey that may be used for soccer, flag-football, volleyball and t-ball. The Little Reds universal jersey is available at the Recreation Department for $20. Coach Registration April 27* - May 15 Participant Registration April 27* - May 15 Age Division: 5-7 yrs. (Participants must be 5 by June 1, 2009 and may not turn 8 during the season) Fee: $30 (plus $20 fee for new participants to purchase universal jersey) Practices will be one night a week in Eaton starting the week of June 1. Practice time and game schedule TBA. Games will be on Thursday in Eaton starting June 18. No Practice or Games the week of June 29 - July 3. Whack!! Good game! 5

Eaton City Park where artists are born! June 2 Painted Birdhouse Paint a special birdhouse for your garden. June 9 Beach Bucket Hat Nothing says summer like a cool bucket hat. June 16 Tie-Dye-Tee Sport your Tie-dye tee shirt all summer. June 23 Fish Bracelet Create the perfect souvenir from your summer vacation. June 30 Shell Boxes Make a beautiful treasure box with seashells. July 7 Bulletin Board Create a personalized bulletin board for your room. In the event of inclement weather class will be held at the Eaton Activity Center or rescheduled. Registration for all art classes starts April 27* and are available until full. 7 Special Programs Thematic Drama "At the 50's Diner" Come join the fun! Participants will enjoy playing drama games and learning simple scripts associated with the "50's Diner" theme. Age 7-11 yrs Summer Session 6 weeks Monday 2-2:50pm June 1 - July 6 Cost $50 Eaton Activity Center Register April 27* - May 15 Group Guitar Lessons Dig out your guitar and get started making music this summer! This beginning workshop includes becoming familiar with parts of the guitar, tuning, basic chord structures and a touch of finger picking. Group guitar lessons taught by Lauri Sutton. 8 Tennis Catch a Wave of Summer Fun! Tennis Lessons All tennis lessons will be offered at the Eaton Middle School Tennis Courts. Players must bring their own tennis racket and water bottle, and dress appropriately to participate. Fee includes t-shirt. Registration for Tennis Lessons and CARA is April 27* - May 15 Little Reds Tennis This class will teach players the components of ground strokes, volleys and serves. Emphasis will be on proper stroke mechanics in a fun, game-oriented environment. Age 5-7 yrs Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:15-9am Fee $40 Session June 2-25 Junior Tennis Have fun while improving the proper stroke mechanics and developing skills for match play. Tuesdays & Thursdays Age: 3rd - 5th grade (grade entering fall 2009) 9-10am Age: 6th - 8th grade (grade entering fall 2009) 10-11am Session June 2 - July 16 (No Tennis Lessons June 29 & July 1) Fee $60 CARA Tennis Age 8-14 CARA is a recreational tennis program designed to give players the opportunity to develop fundamentals and match play experience. Players should have one year of tennis lesson experience. Practices will be at the Eaton Middle School Tennis Courts on Tuesdays and Thursdays June 2 - July 16. Match play is on Fridays and will be held in various local communities starting June 12. Friday Match Schedule TBA. CARA State Tournament is the week of July for qualifying players. Parents must provide transportation to and from matches. Players must provide their own tennis racket, water bottle and dress appropriately to participate. Mandatory Parent Meeting Monday June 1 following practice. 9 Eaton Reds Sports Camps Eaton Reds Sports Camps will be held at Eaton High School. All camp participants must wear appropriate clothing and bring a water bottle. Camp participants will register for the grade they are entering Fall Registration for all Eaton Reds Sports Camps starts April 27* and is available until one week prior to the start of each camp. Girls Basketball Camp Monday-Thursday, June 1-4 1:30-3 pm 2nd - 5th grade Cost $30 3:30-5 pm 6th - 8th grade Cost $40 These camps will teach the fundamentals of basketball emphasizing skill development. Camp will progressively become more demanding for each age division. Coaches include Todd Hernandez, Head Girls Basketball Coach, Eaton High School, the Reds Basketball staff and current / former Eaton High School basketball players. Shoot, kid. Shoot! Boys Basketball Camp Monday-Thursday, June 8-11, 2-3:30 pm 3rd - 6th grade Cost $30 These camps will teach the fundamentals of basketball emphasizing skill development. Camp will progressively become more demanding for each age division. Coaches include current / former Eaton High School basketball players. Football Camp Monday-Thursday, June 22-25, 2-3:30 pm 3rd - 6th grade Cost $30 These camps will teach the fundamentals of football emphasizing skill development. 10 Adult Summer Fitness Summer Volleyball Kings and Queens of volleyball get ready for mini games and skilled challenges. Age 18 & older Tuesday and Thursday 7pm Summer Session is 8 weeks June 2 - July 23 Benjamin Eaton Park Cost $25 Register April 27* - May 15 Lap Swim Grab your goggles and flippers for lap swimming at the pool. Age 18 & older Tuesday and Thursday 7:15-8am Summer Session is 8 weeks June 2 - July 30 *No Lap Swim June 30 - July 2 Eaton High School Swim Pool Cost $25 Register April 27* - May 15 General Information Registration: Please register in person Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pm at the Eaton Recreation Department, 224 First Street during designated registration dates. A Parent or Guardian must complete the registration form, and may only register his or her own children. A Parent or Guardian must sign the waiver on the registration form at the time of registration. Registration deadlines for all programs are listed in the brochure under the program description. Registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Space is limited. Waiting Lists: Waiting lists are a source of contact and do not guarantee you will receive a call back. We will contact you only if a space becomes available. Waiting lists for a closed class or sport provides us with a name and phone number in the event of a cancellation or if a new class is added. It does not limit you from registering for any other open class. Refunds: All refund requests require an automatic $10 processing fee. A refund request form must be filled out at the Recreation Department. A refund will only be granted during the registration dates for the program requesting the refund. No refunds allowed after the registration deadline. Refunds may require up to four weeks to process. Refunds are mailed to address on refund request form. Full refunds will be given if a program is cancelled and does not require a request form. Parent Volunteer Coaches: The Eaton Recreation Department depends on Parent Volunteer Coaches for youth sports league programs. All Parent Volunteer Coaches are required to complete a background screening prior to each sport season. In appreciation for their time and effort, Parent Volunteer Coaches will have the league fee reimbursed at the end of the program upon return of all recreation equipment with a Recreation Voucher. The Recreation Voucher will be redeemable towards any Eaton Recreation program of equal or lesser value and is valid for one year. Scholarships: Scholarships are available for eligible participants. A Scholarship Request Form must be filled out in person at the Recreation Department prior to registration. Applications must be submitted and pre-approved before registration. For more information call the Recreation Director, Emily Haythorn, at Youth Sports League: Team Selection -- The Eaton Recreation Department's goal is to provide our participants the opportunities to form new friendships, meet new people, and have a fun recreational atmosphere with teams as balanced as possible. Special requests are not taken. Only the head coach and assistant coach's children are placed on teams together. Teams are separated by age, grade, and gender if applicable. Players must participate in the appropriate age group. After registration a participant may not switch practice times. 10

Utilize a variety of cardio and fitness equipment for a full body workout. Fitness Fusion - Monday & Wednesday 5:30-6:15 pm. A workout incorporating flexibility, strength and endurance. For all levels. Forever Fit - Monday, Wednesday & Friday 9-9:45 am. Enhance your quality of life by maintaining strength, balance and flexibility. Lunch Crunch - Tuesday & Thursday 12-12:45 pm. Gain strength, endurance, burn fat and boost your metabolism before lunch. Open Work Out - Monday, Wednesday & Friday 12-1 pm Utilize cardio and strenghth training equipment at your own pace. Yoga - Thursday 10:45-11:45 am and Tuesday 5:30-6:30 pm. Release tension and stress while gaining strength, balance, and flexibility. Appropriate for all levels. New! Zumba - Wednesday 7-8 pm. Latin style cardio dance workout. PERSONAL TRAINING Customize your workout to achieve your fitness goals. Personal Training is now offered by a certified Personal Trainer. Call to set up your appointment at Eaton Activity Center. Individual Personal Training Fees: $25 per session or $120 for 5 sessions. Group Personal Training Fees: $18 per person per session.
