YOUR CHOICE OF A KEY OR AN ID & FASTER PROCESER * Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 4-6 PM and Wednesday 7-8 PM the back pool and slide will be CLOSED due to swim lessons during that time. At that time you will be asked to verify your address with a valid photo ID or 2 current utility bills showing your address and name. Season passes are non-refundable. GOUIN POOL BIRTHDAY PARTIES Have an unforgettable birthday party at our pool. All you have to do is bring your guests for a splash in our pool. Reservations must be made two weeks in advance, so hurry and book your party. Birthday Package: $11 per person Includes pool entrance fee, two hours reserved area (party can stay at the pool after the two hours for no additional charge), food (choice of pizza or hot dog, both include chips and Kool-Aid). Deposit is required when reserving a date. POOL RENTAL FOR PRIVATE PARTIES Finish one of those hot summer days with a dip in our pool! Enjoy the pool with your friends and neighbors, scout troop, ball team or fellow company employees. Lifeguards available. Water slides, diving board and the kiddie pool are yours to enjoy. Pool may be rented on Saturday or Sunday evenings, 6:30-8:30 PM. Pool may be rented for one or two hours. Fee per hour: $175 R / $325 NR $100 deposit required when reserving date. Min/Max: 25/80 CONCESSION STAND A full service concession stand and patio with tables offers soft drinks, ice cream, candy, pizza, popcorn, nachos, pretzels, and hot dogs. New healthy items added to the menu! Concession Stand Hours 12-8 PM Monday Friday 12-6 PM Saturday Sunday Please Note: Patrons are not allowed to bring food/drinks into the complex. BATHHOUSE Large shower and locker rooms with pay (25 cents) lockers. All swimmers are required to shower prior to exiting onto the pool deck. HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE Gouin Pool has an accessible wheelchair lift. If you need special assistance, please see a manager. INCLEMENT WEATHER The pool will close for weather conditions such as lightning, tornadoes or if the temperature is below 72 degrees, or if there are less than 10 patrons in the facility for an hour. GRANDPARENTS DAY: Free admission to the pool for the day for all grandparents. DECORATE THE DECK DAY: Come and decorate our pool deck. TRIVIA DAY: Questions will be asked throughout the day and winner will receive a small prize. Ask our office staff for a calendar. Gouin Pool Special Days DUCKY TUESDAYS Rubber ducks in the kiddie pool at noon. Pick a duck and see if your number matches the number drawn by the manager. If you are a winner, you will receive a prize. WISDOM WEDNESDAYS Throughout the days on Wednesdays we will be asking trivia questions over the loud speaker. Be the first one to come to the office and answer it correctly and receive a prize! TURTLE THURSDAYS Find Crush the Turtle who will be hidden somewhere around the pool, and win a cool treat! 4 VPD Swim Academy Gouin Pool Swimming Sign up for veterans Park District Swim Academy! All classes are taught by Ellis Certified Lifeguards and Swim Instructors. This 6 level program will teach your child to develop their swimming skills and strokes. Each level will review and enhance the skills your child has already learned and introduce them to new strokes and techniques. Level 1 Water Exploration Focuses on supported front and back floating, beginning arm movements, an introduction of safety skills, supported kicking on front and back, fully submerging face and more. Level 2 Primary Skills Introduces unsupported floating with kicks, rhythmic breathing, freestyle, backstroke orientation, holding breath underwater and more. Level 3 Stroke Readiness Includes improving skill competency, deep-water work, including elementary backstroke, treading water, front and backstroke, front and back glide and more. Level 4 Stroke Development Provides a solid reinforcement of the foundation strokes. Breaststroke is introduced and sidestroke is reinforced. Intermediate survival skills and water safety are a focus for this level. Basic diving is introduced. Level 5 Stroke Refinement Includes a review of backstroke, breaststroke, and sidestroke. Butterfly and surface dives are introduced. More advanced survival skills and water safety are also included in this level. Level 6 Stroke Proficiency Flip turns and endurance training are the main objectives of this level. In addition, racing starts from the blocks will be introduced. This class is a good preparation for children interested in joining the swim team. We will work our whole body doing a variety of interesting movements. Makeups are not permitted for missed or forgotten lessons.
