Weeknights (No Fridays); Evenings, 5:30 pm or later HELP - Healthy Eating & Living Program Are you currently pursuing a health goal? Although your journey is your own, several YMCA members are pursuing a similar path to health. Let's learn and support each other in our journeys to overall health. Join our YMCA Wellness Coaches every third Sunday of the month. Learn from a guest speaker on the topics of nutrition, exercise, and habit sustaining. Open to members and community members at no cost. Come ready to learn, share, and support your peers through their journey. See the front desk for more information. High School Sports High School Summer Basketball program. This program will be a five week regular season & single elimination playoffs. Register as a team or as an individual. A League for upper classmen & more skilled players B League for lower classmen and less skilled players Karate Sensei Lori Brown is a degree black belt with a Tachi rank in kobudo. Lori was compelled to begin martial arts training after seeing what an amazing difference Robert Bowles Karate Academy made in her son. Lori's combination of behavior therapy and over 13 years of martial arts allow her to provide a wealth of knowledge, a nurturing spirit, and a high level of discipline to help your children excel. Lori aims to instill the same love for the mental, physical, and spiritual discipline into your sons and daughters. MVP Sports Mentoring Program When we think of the word MVP?we always think most valuable player. This program focus is on a different type of MVP?most vulnerable people. Our MVP Sports Mentoring program is designed to take the most vulnerable people (young teens) and hopefully turn them into the most valuable people! This program will combine athletics along with classroom type activities to help our teens learn the importance of servant leadership through sports. 14 total meetings throughout the summer. Twice a week. One day an exercise/sports component, the other day more focus will be on character development. No classes the week of 4th of July. New Member Receptions This is a thirty minute presentation designed to help our members understand all the YMCA has to offer. Includes membership information, how to register for programs, locations in our association, and more information about any program we offer. Parents Night Out Let the YMCA entertain your child while you enjoy a night out! Activities include a pizza dinner, gym games, swimming, and a movie & popcorn. Please send a duffel bag for each child with the following: towel, plastic bag for wet item, underwear, blanket, & pillow for movie time. Children should arrive with their swimsuit on under their clothes and should wear gym shoes with socks. Running Programs This non-competitive program is designed to help with conditioning specific to cross country running. The curriculum will follow the RRCA Kids Run the Nation Program (KRN). KRN is a gender inclusive, multi-week, turnkey youth running program designed to meet the physical activity goals outlined by USDA for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Special Events RAD, also known as "Rape Aggression Defense" System is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques. It is a comprehensive self defense course for women that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defensive training. We educate women by enhancing their options of physical defense as being not only prudent, but also a necessity if a natural resistance is to be effective. RAD empowers women to make their own decisions regarding self-preservation and self-defense options. This class is for women 16 and older only. Sports Camps Youth Basketball Program that focuses on the fundamentals of basketball as well as basketball conditioning. Led by staff with coaching/playing experience. NO CLASS WEEK OF JULY 4!

4 Swim Lessons - Age 6mos-3yrs (Parent/Child) (A-Water Discovery) Parent and Child Stage A (Water Discovery) Recommended ages: 6months-3 years Parents accompany children in stage A, which introduces infants and toddlers to the aquatic environment through exploration and encourages them to enjoy themselves while learning about the water. Skills taught include: Blowing bubbles, Front tow, Water exit, Water entry, Back float, Roll, Front float, Back tow, Wall grab. Swim Lessons - Age 6mos-3yrs (Parent/Child) (B-Water Exploration) In stage B, parents work with their children to explore body positions, floating, blowing bubbles, and fundamental safety and aquatic skills. Skills taught include: Blowing bubbles, Front tow, Water exit, Water entry, Back float, Roll, Front float, Back tow, Monkey crawl. Swim Lessons - Age 3-5yrs (1-Water Acclimation) Preschool Level, Swim Basics Stage 1 (Water Acclimation) Recommended ages: 3-5 years old In this class Students develop comfort with underwater exploration and learn to safely exit in the event of falling into a body of water in stage 1. This stage lays the foundation that allows for a student?s future progress in swimming. Skills taught include: Submerging, Front glide, Water exit, "Jump, push, turn, grab", Back float, Roll, Front float, back glide, "Swim, float, swim". Swim Lessons - Age 3-5yrs (2-Water Movement) Preschool Level, Swim Basics Stage 2 (Water Movement) Recommended ages: 3-5 years old In stage 2, students focus on body position and control, directional change, and forward movement in the water while also continuing to practice how to safely exit in the event of falling into a body of water. Skills taught include: Submerge, Front glide, Water exit, "Jump, push, turn, grab", Back float, Roll Swim Lessons - Age 3-5yrs (3-Water Stamina) Preschool Level, Swim Basics Stage 3 (Water Stamina) Recommended ages: 3-5 years old In stage 3, students learn how to swim to safety from a longer distance than in previous stages in the event of falling into a body of water. This stage also introduces rhythmic breathing and integrated arm and leg action. Skills taught include: Submerge, Swim on front, Water exit, "Jump, swim, turn, swim, grab", Swim on back, Roll, Tread water, "Swim, float, swim".

This stage lays the foundation that allows for a student's future progress in swimming. Skills taught include: Submerging, Front glide, Water exit, "Jump, push, turn, grab", Back float, Roll, Front float, back glide, "Swim, float, swim". Water safety is reinforced through treading water and elementary backstroke. Skills taught include: Endurance, Front crawl, back crawl, Resting stroke, Treading water, Breaststroke, Butterfly. Swim Lessons - Age 6-12yrs (5-Stroke Development) Learn to Swim, Swim Strokes Stage 5 (Stroke Development) Recommended ages: 6-12 years old Students in stage 5 work on stroke technique and learn all major competitive strokes. The emphasis on water safety continues through treading water and sidestroke. Skills taught include: Endurance, Front crawl, Back crawl, Resting stroke, Treading water, Breaststroke, Butterfly. Swim Lessons - Age 6-12yrs (6-Stroke Mechanics) "Swimmers focus on perfecting their strokes and further increasing their endurance. Swimmers are introduced to competitive swimming skills of flip turns, and individual medleys, and learn about heart rates and developing good health habits. Pre-requisites: Pass Flying Fish or ability to perform these skills: Front and back crawl (100 yards), breastroke, elementary backstroke, sidestroke (50 yards), Butterfly (25 yards), and tread water for 6 minutes. This session is a five (5) week session due to the holidays."

8 Swim Lessons - Teen & Adult This program creates a welcoming environment that is designed to help adults learn to swim. They will work on comfort in the water, fundamental swimming skills, floating, submerging, recovery, building confidence in and around water, and introduction to stroke development. Swim Lessons - Adaptive This class, designed for participants with special needs, will focus on basic water skills & water adjustment. Helping participants gain confidence in the water & improve kicking & stroking ability. Through participation in the program, participants learn to feel more positive about themselves in a safe & relaxed environment that promotes success mixed with fun & play. Water safety is reinforced through treading water and elementary backstroke. Skills taught include: Endurance, Front crawl, back crawl, Resting stroke, Treading water, Breaststroke, Butterfly. School Age, Swim Strokes Stage 5 (Stroke Development) Recommended ages: 6-12 years old Students in stage 5 work on stroke technique and learn all major competitive strokes. The emphasis on water safety continues through treading water and sidestroke. Skills taught include: Endurance, Front crawl, Back crawl, Resting stroke, Treading water, Breaststroke, Butterfly. Teen Life Skills Youth can learn basic auto mechanic skills that will come in handy as they reach the age of driving and being responsible for a vehicle. The Auto mechanics class will be split into 2 parts. You do not have to attend both, but you are welcome to as they will focus on different skills. The class will consist of an overview of basic car maintenance and what to look for to know what needs work or replacement. The class will also include hands on activities that will help students learn how to safely work on a vehicle. Part one will focus on more?cosmetic fixes? such as changing windshield wipers, changing head and tail lights, and even changing a tire, among other skills. Part 2 will focus more on internal things such as parts of the engine, checking oil, and similar skills. This class will be taught by a professional from the community. Students will participant hands on while learning these skills, which will mean that they will be around an actual automobile and will be working with Training - Lifeguarding This Blended Learning class has online portions that must be completed prior to in-class dates. The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until emergency medical personal take over. Successful completion of this course includes certification in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, Emergency Oxygen, and First Aid. The link for Blended Learning will be sent out after registration. Volunteering Volunteer to serve as a course marshal, helping guide racers through the course as they run through the beautiful Lakeside Park neighborhood. A brief training session will be provided before the race.
