1 Hanlon Pool Summer 2015 Hanlon Pool is located at 500 McCool Ave, at Ellis Field Park in the Village of East Syracuse. We are a family friendly neighborhood facility with many recreational activities and events to offer, gifted with a park and playground structure, all open to the public. Please feel free to call our Recreation Department for additional information at Pre-Season Swim Hours June 7 th June 25 th Monday-Friday 4:00-7:00 Saturday & Sunday 1:00-6:00 Lap lane available upon request after 5pm daily. Summer Swim Hours June 26 th August 23 rd Recreation Swim: Monday, Wed 12:00-5:30 Tues, Thurs, Fri 12:00 6:00 Saturday & Sunday 1:00-7:00 Lap Swim Tuesday & Thur. 11:00-12:00 Friday only 11:30-12:00 Saturday & Sunday 12:00-1:00 Lap lane available upon request after 5pm daily. Village of East Syracuse Residents: You may register to use the pool for free by completing a REGISTRATION FORM (Forms are available at Forms are also at Hanlon Pool and the Village Office. You must provide proof of residency when you submit your registration form. Private pool rentals do not qualify for free use and do require a fee. (Learn to Swim & Water Aerobics are free.) Non-Resident Guests: You may use the pool by paying a fee each time you swim. Adults (18 54) $3.00 Children ( 4 17) $2.00 Children under 4 Free Senior Rate (55+) $2.00 Pool Memberships: You may purchase a summer membership for use of the pool. (Also entitles you to reduced rates for swimming lessons & water aerobics with early registration privileges.) June 6 th -August 30 th Single $80.00 (add $20.00 for each additional family member) *Youth $30.00 *Youth rate is for children ages 18 & under who pass swim, height, & safety requirements (Does not include swimming lessons) Senior Rate (55+) is 10% off
2 Water Aerobics- Water Aerobic classes are available to men and woman 18 years and older. There are no requirements: You do not have to be a swimmer, nor do you need experience from other aerobic classes. (As with any exercise program, you should check with your physician before you begin, if you have medical concerns.) What s it all about: Maybe you would like a refreshing cardiovascular workout, or perhaps a reason to get out of the house and stretch your muscles. Which ever the cause, the classes are designed so that everyone can go at their own pace. Each person that attends may have individual objectives. This will allow the class members to feel comfortable, establishing their own boundaries. The class will be instructed in a way that allows the cardio seeker to feel as though they have had a strong workout, and the arthritic sufferer to feel as though they have conquered painless movement. Everyone will be positively motivated during the workout to achieve their personal goals. Class Availability June 29 th -August 20 th 8 week session, 2 days a week Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday 11:00am-12:00 6:00-7:00pm Registration: By phone (you may begin calling at 9am) Village Residents & Members June 1 st Non-Residents June 8 th Pavilion & Pool Rentals- The pool is available for private rentals on weekdays and weekends. The perfect location for parties, birthdays, gatherings, and fun! You will have access to pool toys, swim noodles, water basketball, and other floatation devices or swim equipment you bring from home (otherwise not allowed in the pool.) Also take advantage of our Park Pavilion and reserve your spot for use of the covered picnic area to accommodate your food or cookout arrangements. Charcoal grill is available. Please call for reservations for either facility. Pool rental availability: Evenings (beginning at 6pm) Mornings (11 1 pm) Evenings (beginning at 7pm) Fridays Sundays Tuesday, Thursday, Sat (6:30) Pool 1 Hour $50.00 up to 50 swimmers $ swimmers 1½ Hours $75.00 up to 50 swimmers $ Cost includes private use of pool with lifeguards, pool toys, water basketball. Pavilion Village Residents - $20.00 Non-Residents - $40.00 Group participants from Pavilion Rentals can swim at the pool for a $1.00 fee during rental and open swim hours.
3 Children s Learn to Swim American Red Cross Swim Lessons will be offered this summer at Hanlon Pool. - Sessions 1 and 2 consist of weekday (daily) lessons running for 3 week periods, (Classes offered between the 8:30 - am-11:00) - Monday & Wednesday evening sessions are 4 weeks of lessons, 2 days a week. (5:30pm-8:00 pm) Weekdays: Session 1 (June 29 th July 17 th ) Session 2 (July 27 th August 14 th ) Evenings Session 1-Mon. & Wed. (June 29 th July 22 nd Session 2-Mon. & Wed. 5 Skill Guide At Hanlon Pool, we teach American Red Cross swim lessons. The levels may be different from lessons taken at other pools, YMCA s or privately. This guide has been designed to help you determine what level will be most appropriate for your child. It is important to make sure your child is placed in the correct level so that they will get the most out of their lesson. Teachers will evaluate children on the first day of class. If a child is placed in a level that is incorrect, they will be moved to the correct level.
