INTRODUCTION Swimming pools need treatment and maintenance to be in perfect condition in terms of transparency and disinfect ion. Swimming pool users (swimmers) and atmospheric factors (rain, sun and wind) dump micro organisms and contaminants into the swimming pool water which can damage users health and lead to deterioration both inside the swimming pool and the installation. A great amount of dirt is eliminated with the help of the filtering system/clarification (enclosed picture). However bacteria, algae and virus can only be removed if the right addition of chemical products is used. The company FAPICENTRO provides you with this maintenance manual for you to know the treatment your swimming pool needs and be familiar with the required procedures in order to keep clear, clean and disinfected water. FILTER Do not leave the floodlights on for more than 4 hours The water becomes cloudy because of dirt from air and swimmers, etc., turning into food for bacteria and algae. Therefore, it is necessary to remove it using the filtering system. The filter holds the dirty particles of the swimming pool water, keeping it transparent and crystal clear. It is important this filter works under good condition and that the total volume of the swimming pool water is filtered at least once a day. NOTE: Whenever required to change a function using the function valve, the motor must be OFF. ON ON ON OFF OFF OFF Electrical Time clock Bulb 1 Bulb 2 system 4

CHEMICALPRODUCTSFORWATER TREATMENT The required products for treatment of your swimming pool water are as follows: ph + ph - FLOCCULANT ANTIALGAE GRANULAR CHLORINE CHLORINE IN TABLET FORM These products should be used according to the instructions on the respective packets. ph PH level is a very important factor as it affects the disinfectant action of chlorine, the swimmers comfort and the condition of your swimming pool installation. Ph level shows the water acidity or alkalinity. In swimming pool it should be adjusted to values between 7.2 and 7.6. This ph level, apart from keeping the installation in good condition, is also the ideal value to protect swimmers skin and eyes. In order to keep it between these two values, the swimming pool water should be examined with the help of the chlorine and ph analyser kit. If the ph value goes above 7.6, add to the water ph-; if it goes under 7.2, add to the water ph+. OBS.: It is not advisable to have an inappropriate ph value due to the fact that when it goes above 7.6 it causes the disinfectant to become ineffective, allowing to formation of encrustations not only in the swimming pool, but also in the installation and leads to changes in the behaviour of the filtering system. With a high ph value, the chlorine consumption increases. If the ph value is below 7.2, it may damage the metallic parts of the installation and irritate swimmers eyes. Chlorine Even if the water appears to be crystal clear and transparent, it may contain bacteria and viruses, which can transmit diseases and infections. Therefore, it has to be disinfected in order to remove all microorganisms. Part of the chlorine added to the swimming pool water is consumed while eliminating contaminants from the water; the remaining residual chlorine in the water acts against new contaminants, which are dumped into the swimming pool by wind, swimmers, etc. To assure an appropriate disinfect ion of the swimming pool water, the chlorine level should range from 0.6 to 1.5ppm. Chlorine consumption varies with several factors, such as temperature, sun, number of swimmers, pollution, etc. Therefore it is necessary to regularly carry out analysis with the help of a chlorine and ph analyser kit. 5

Anti-algae Algae are unicellular vegetable organisms that can rapidly reproduce and grow within the water, especially when the water temperature is tepid. Algae appear in swimming pool water by means of wind, rain, etc. To prevent them from developing, disinfectant (chlorine) and also an anti-algae product must be used. Flocculant Flocculant is a chemical product designed to aggregate all dirty micro particles, which make water cloudy and discoloured (caused by the existence of iron salts, manganese, and/or copper depending on what water is used for filling the swimming pool). After using this product, it is necessary to wait for 10 hours for the flocculation to occur, and then carry out the suction process from the bottom removing the vacuumed water. TripleAction The Triple Action is a product for continuous maintenance of swimming pool water, which has a bactericide, algaecide and flocculant power. This product may replace the individual application of chlorine, anti-algae and flocculant. However, it is necessary to take the same care with product level in the swimming pool. Alternativemethodsfortreatment Activated oxygen chemical product with non-oxidant base, suitable for heated swimming pools and for water treatment when there are people allergic to chlorine. Ionisation mechanism based on copper ions emission for purification of swimming pool water. Salt water disinfect ion mechanism through salt electrolysis. NOTE: fluid chemical products (flocculant and anti-algae) should always be diluted in water and added inside the swimming pool followed by a 1hour re-circulation. Solid chemical products (chlorine and ph s) should always be put into the 6

skimmer basket while the pump is in operation and the filter function valve is switched to the TO FILTER position. PRECAUTIONSWHILEUSINGCHEMICAL PRODUCTS Before using the chemical products, please read the label carefully and follow the instructions. 1. Do not mix the products; add one product to swimming pool water at a time in order to avoid possible reactions. 2. Keep packets closed and store them in a dry place, protected from heat, and out of reach of children. 3. If it comes into contact with eyes, rinse them immediately with plenty of water (do not rub) and see a doctor. If possible, take the product label with you. 4. Avoid the swimming pool products to contact with other sort of chemical products. INSTRUCTIONSONUSEOFCHLORINEANDPHTEST (OTO/PHENOL) CHLORINETEST 1. Fill the reservoir on the left with swimming pool water up to the 10ml mark. 2. Add 5 drops of SOLUTION 1 (OTO). Close the reservoir and shake. 3. Compare the obtained colour with the colour scale of the reservoir. The resulting colour is equal to the ppm of the total residual chlorine of swimming pool. If the result is below 0.6ppm, powdered chlorine should be used in order to increase the residual chlorine. In case of obtaining a high level of chlorination (higher than 1.5ppm), it is advisable to leave the filtration system on manual operation to eliminate the excessive residual chlorine. NOTE: The optimum level of total chlorine ranges from 0.6 to 1.5 ppm. phtest 1. Fill the reservoir on the right with swimming pool water up to the 10ml mark. 2. Add 5 drops of SOLUTION 2 (PHENOL). Close the reservoir and shake. 3. Compare the obtained colour with colour scale of the reservoir. NOTE: The optimum level of ph ranges from 7.2 to 7.6 ppm. PRECAUTIONS Store the kit in a cool and dry place, protected from sunlight and out of reach of children. Each summer always renew the reagents. 7

Clean thoroughly the reservoirs before and after each use. Remove water sample from the deepest part of the swimming pool and from a depth ranging from 30 to 70cm. OPERATINGMANUAL INITIALTREATMENT EXTREMELYDIRTY WATER Green Water Cloudy Water 1 st Water Treatment Flocculation If needed, clean up the swimming pool structure using DISINCRUSTANT. Apply the product on walls and bottom inside the empty swimming pool, where the sunlight doesn t reach, keeping walls and bottom damp; leave the product for approximately 1 hour and then wash the swimming pool with sufficient water. 1 st - Fill the swimming pool up to the highest level, wash thoroughly the sidewalls and bottom of the swimming pool with the help of a nylon brush. 2 nd Fill the motor with water (page 16) and leave it on with the function valve switched to the TO FILTER position. 3 rd Carry out a shock chlorination using powdered chlorine. If the swimming pool takes more than one day to be filled, it is advisable to put a treatment dose inside a container (for example a bucket) and place it inside the swimming pool in order to avoid the algae formation during the filling process. 4 th After 4 hours, test the water ph level and, if needed, regulate it to values between 7.2 and th After 2 hours, dissolve 10ml of FLOCCULANT per each m 3 in a container with water, and put this solution around the swimming pool so that it can act near the sidewalls. 6 th Carry out a re-circulation of this product inside the swimming pool as follows: - Switch the motor off; - Switch the filter valve to the TO RE-CIRCULATE position; - Turn the SKIMMER, BOTTOM DRAIN and RETURN taps on; - Turn the SUCTION DEVICE tap off; - Switch on the motor using MANUAL mode allowing it to operate for 1 hour. 7 th Switch the motor off, wait 10 hours, the dirt will be deposited at the bottom of the swimming pool. h CAUTION! 10 10 th Analyse the water. 11 th According to the kit analysis result, adjust water ph level to values between 7.2 and 7.6, wait for 2 hours, add the CHLORINE in tablet form (1 tablet per each 15m 3 ) and, finally, put in ANTI-ALGAE; carry out the maintenance treatment once a week adding 10ml per each 40m 3 of water. VacuumingProcesswithoutFiltering/Emptying NOTE: The present vacuuming process should only be used in the cases where there is a great amount of dirt trapped at the bottom of the swimming pool and whenever the FLOCCULANT product is used inside the swimming pool. This process vacuums the water and the dirt from the swimming pool. Everything that is vacuumed goes directly into the drain. Always keep the water level in the middle position in Skimmer. The suction kit for your swimming pool consists of the following elements: - Blue auto-floating hose - Suction device - Telescopic pole 1 st Assemble the suction kit outside the swimming pool (put the hose into the suction device and the telescopic pole into the kit previously mentioned). 2 nd Fill the hose with water inside the swimming pool (put the suction kit inside the swimming pool in the VERTICAL position, next to the suction socket; put the hose slowly, also in the vertical position, into the swimming pool, after being filled, fit it in the suction socket,). 3 rd In the engine room (with the motor switched off) carry out the following alterations: - Turn the SUCTION DEVICE tap on; - Turn the SKIMMER, BOTTOM DRAIN AND RETURN taps off; - Set the filter function valve to the TO EMPTY position. - Switch the motor on using MANUAL mode; - Vacuum the dirt trapped at the bottom of the swimming pool by making slow circular movements so as not to raise the dirt. OBS.: Always keep the water level in the middle position in Skimmer. Each time water is added to the swimming pool, please analyse the chlorine level (0.6 to 1.5) and ph (7.2 to 7.6) and, if needed, carry out adjustments. Do not forget to clean the pump prefilter and the non-return valve as well. 10

SWITCH THE PUMP OFF FISRT CONTINUOUSMAINTENANCE Clean water Without using flocculant not significant dirt deposits at the bottom AutomaticCirculation For your engine room to work automatically: 1 st Set the valve to the TO FILTER position; 2 nd Turn the SKIMMER, BOTTOM DRAIN and RETURN taps on; 3 rd - Switch the motor on using AUTOMATIC mode. For a correct filtration of all water volume of your pool, the filtering system should run from 6 to 8 hours/day in summer; and approximately 2 hours/day in winter. For this to happen automatically you just have to adjust the desired time of operation on the time clock located in the switchboard (see page 18). It is convenient that the time of operation doesn t coincide with the time of operation of other electric devices so as to avoid an overcharge of energy and the consequent trip of the circuit breaker. It is advisable to open the pre-filter every week so as to avoid the lid sticking into the motor caused by the pressure. When closing the pre-filter, it is also advisable to use vaseline to facilitate the subsequent openings. Switch the motor off; Set the function valve to the TO RE-CIRCULATE position; Turn the input taps off (Bottom drain, Skimmer and Suction device). Leave the Return tap turned on; Open the pre-filter lid with the help of a special key or by unscrewing the lid nuts; Take the basket off and clean it with fresh water; Replace the basket; Clean the non-return valve, see page 17; Fill the motor with water using a container with water fill the pre-filter deposit; close the transparent lid down; turn the first input tap on from the engine room (Bottom drain); switch the motor on using the manual mode; wait for some seconds; switch the motor off; repeat the operation 4 or 5 times, make sure that all air in the tap, that you have turned on, has disappeared. Repeat the same process for the remaining taps, separately. After this process, put the taps back into the automatic circulation position, page 13. 17 CleaningoftheNon-ReturnValve The non-return valve is a part located in the middle of the plumbing, between the water input valves and the motor. It is advisable to clean up this part in order to avoid the accumulation of dirt, which can damage the standard operation of the filtering system. Switch the motor off; Close all valves of the engine room; Unscrew the non-return valve connections; Remove the valve and clean it up; Take care with the valve rubber o-rings : do not lose them! Assemble the non-return valve on site. CAUTION! When assembling the non-return valve pay particular attention to the direction indicator printed on the valve. It indicates the position of water flow. If the valve is positioned in the wrong place, it will block the water flow, preventing the motor from filling with water. OPEN CLOSE BOTTON DRAIN SKIMMER SUCTION DEVICE RETURN HOT WATER CLOSE ON NON-RETURN VALVE OBS.: When the main equipment is connected with another swimming pool, follow the same procedures. You just have to turn the tap off for the main swimming pool and turn the tap on for the secondary swimming pool. IMPORTANT: If any stains appear inside the swimming pool, these can be caused by corrosive water or containing dissolved metallic ions, such as iron, copper or manganese. For you to resolve your problem, you must adjust the ph value and add the CALCAREOUS REMOVER product, once a week, to avoid the appearance of new stains. If you cannot get rid of them, you should empty the swimming pool and clean the walls using the DISINCRUSTANT product. 17

50MISTAKESTOAVOID Your swimming pool is finished or under construction; you are going to spend your first summer with it; to fully enjoy it, read the following pages carefully so as to avoid making the 50 most common mistakes. In the beginning, using your swimming pool can be worrying. The will to do it right, but lack of knowledge about the operations, are often the origin of the mistakes, which although small, can cause complications. To help you, here are some of the most common mistakes: THESAFETY Let s begin with what we think is the most important aspect, swimmers safety. It can be dangerous if you do not follow some basic regulations, which you should be aware of. 1 SLIPPERY BORDERS If you have just got your swimming pool, probably you still haven t installed the borders and the margins. Before deciding on a material, make sure that it is anti-slippery (both dry and wet). In this case, we should refer to Portuguese paving, which in spite of its appearance is extremely slippery. purposes. 2 ADORNING THE BORDERS OF THE SWIMMING POOL WITH SHARP CORNED OBJECTS As far as the surrounding area is concerned do not use flower stands or pots with sharp corners that can be dangerous if someone slips or trips. 3 LEAVING THE CHEMICAL PRODUCTS WITHIN REACH OF CHILDREN Store your products so that the children cannot reach them, always bear in mind that a child can be tempted to eat a chlorine tablet or even drink a liquid product. Remember that the emanation itself can be dangerous. 4 FORGETTING ABOUT THE PRODUCT LABEL Never forget to put a label on a product. When you transfer one product to another packet, it is advisable label it right away, as it can be used afterwards (by you or by other person) for other purposes. 25

5 LEAVING IN THE SWIMMING POOL CHILDREN UNSUPERVISED Children learn how to swim at the age of 5/6. Before reaching that age, it is very difficult for them to get out the swimming pool on their own. Water is a very attractive element to a small child. Therefore, never leave a child alone around the swimming pool. 6 DIVING INTO THE SHALLOW PART OF THE SWIMMING POOL If your swimming pool has both a shallow and a deep part, don t allow even anyone to dive into the shallow part. It is impossible for you to calculate the diving angle so this game could be very dangerous. Follow the same advice mentioned for swimming pools, which are not very deep. 7 JUMPING OVER THE ISOTHERMAL BUBBLE COVER Jumping over the isothermal cover of your swimming pool can be very dangerous. When it comes into contact with a heavy body, the cover closes over it forming a sort of an envelope, making it much more difficult to free the person from the envelope; disconnected movements can turn the situation into a more serious one. Please take care with your pets. Do not allow them to jump over the cover. 8 PLANTING PRICKLY PLANTS AROUND YOUR SWIMMING POOL When choosing the plants you will plant around your swimming pool, avoid sharp and prickly species. Plants such as these near the waterline and the surrounding area can hurt swimmers 9 USE OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT NEAR THE SWIMMING POOL If you use electrical devices near your swimming pool, take care with the lead so that it does not come into contact with water or areas where there is the possibility of dampness or moisture. Be aware of all hazards and eventualities. Never go bare-foot inside the engine room, due to the possibility of water leaks and moisture accumulation that can create dangerous situations. 10 SWIMMING WHILE ELECTRIC CLEANING EQUIPMENT IS IN OPERATION The manufacturers of these cleaning equipments remind all users that it can be dangerous to swim while electric appliances are operating. Water is a good electrical conductor and the appliance could have a defect. Therefore, it is important to comply with this regulation, even in case of 12volts equipment. THEWATER Some mistakes or omissions can spoil your swimming pool water. It is advisable to take note of some important tips. 11 PUTTING POWDERED CHLORINE OR TABLETS DIRECTLY INTO THE SWIMMING POOL WATER Chlorine, either powdered or in tablet 26

form should always be put in the Skimmer, with the purification system on and switched to the TO FILTER position so as to dilute gradually. The direct application of chlorine into the water can not only cause discoloration stains in your swimming pool, but also create an excess of product in some areas that can be harmful to swimmers. 12 NOT ANALYSING THE WATER ON A REGULAR BASIS Before water treatment, it is necessary to analyse it for you to know the ph level to work out the amount of disinfectant you should use. Caution! The fact that you own an automatic treatment device in your swimming pool does not mean that you do not need to carry out water analysis. For more information contact your installer. 15 bromine are incompatible chemical products. The conjugation of both components makes the water green or brownish. Always adjust the water ph level before adjusting the chlorine level. Non-compliance with this regulation can lead to an excessive application of ph correctors or changing a large volume of water. USING FLOCCULANT WITH DIATOMITE OR CARTRIDGE FILTER If your swimming pool is supplied with a diatomite or cartridge filter, do not use flocculant. Its function is to agglomerate the fine dust preventing it from passing through the middle of the filtering system and therefore should only be used with sand filters. In case of diatomite and cartridge filters, use of this product will block up the filter. 13 USING COPPER SULPHATE Copper sulphate is a powerful anti-alga, fortunately little used in swimming pools, as it tends to stain swimming pool coverings with blue dots. It causes several stains in the swimming pool and creates green tones in swimmers hair, which has been previously coloured. 16 FORGETTING TO CHECK THE WATER LEVEL OF THE SWIMMING POOL The good functioning of the filtering system of your swimming pool relies on (among other points) an adequate vacuuming of the Skimmer and bottom drain. So, the water level should be kept in the middle of the Skimmer opening. NEGLECTING TO CLEAN UP THE 17 SWIMMING POOL 14 PUTTING Ph (minus/basic) AND CHLORINE OR BROMINE INTO THE SWIMMING POOL The basic ph level and the chlorine or It is advisable to vacuum your swimming pool on a regular basis. You should, at least once a week, remove the debris and leaves that are trapped at the bottom of the pool. 27

18 FORGETTING TO CLEAN THE SKIMMER BASKET The filtering system function of your swimming pool is to vacuum the debris that is trapped in the water surface. This debris is retained in the Skimmer basket. The basket should be cleaned up on a regular basis so as not to interfere with the functioning of the filtering system. 19 FORGETTING TO CLEAN UP THE MOTOR PRE-FILTER BASKET The second barrier to impurities, before they reach the filter, is the motor pre-filter that often collects fine waste, such as vegetation, hair, etc., preventing the system from functioning correctly. Therefore, it is advisable to open the pre-filter lid often and clean it in order to keep the system in good condition. 20 SWITCHING THE MOTOR ON WITH EMPTY (NO WATER) PRE-FILTER 21 If you have opened the motor prefilter to carry out cleaning, remember that you have to refill the basket with water and fill the motor with water, before re-starting the normal running of the filtering system. Noncompliance with this safety standard can damage the motor, causing overheating due to the fact that the motor is running dry. NOT WASHING THE FILTER REGULARLY Fine dirt, such as dust, is trapped in by the filter or, more precisely, by the sand, but only up to a certain extent. It is advisable to carry out cleaning and retro cleaning to get rid of the sand STOPPING THE FILTER WASHING BEFORE THE WATER IS CLEAR The filter washing can last between 2 and 6 minutes, or even more, if required. Next to the 6-way valve there is a screen through which you should regulate water pureness. Never stop the system before checking the water that circulates through the screen. The water should be clear. NEGLECTING TO RETRO-WASH THE SAND AFTER WASHING In order to wash a dirty filter, water current is sent from bottom to top (in the opposite direction to the filtration), within the filter and for some minutes, so as to remove the dirt and unpack the sand. After this process, it is necessary to re-position the sand and stabilize it. This is the function of the retro washing or rinsing of the sand load. It also has the function of cleaning the dirt that may still be in the plumbing and the sand. FORGETTING TO CHECK THE WATER PRESSURE INSIDE THE FILTER In case you cannot deal with some delicate movements and find it difficult to check good filter functioning, remember that you have an excellent way to monitor the situation: the pressure manometer. It indicates the water pressure inside the filter. If the needle reaches the end of the yellow zone or red zone, it means that there are some difficulties with water passage through the filter sand. It is therefore time to wash the filter. NEGLECTING TO CHECK THE FILTER CONDITION 28

The lifespan of sand loading is from 6 to 8 years. It is advisable, from time to time, to unscrew the valve to check the condition of the sand, which should be loose, mobile and free of crumbs. If sand is hard it means either the water ph level hasn t been regulated correctly or the water is too calcareous. In this case either change the filtrating loading or wash using a specific product for sand decalcification. MANOEUVRING THE 6-WAY VALVE BEFORE SWITCHING THE MOTOR OFF If you need to carry out any operation in the filter and alter the 6-way valve function, do not forget to switch the motor off, at the mains, before every operation. The non-fulfilment of this rule can damage not only the valve but also the electric circuits of your swimming pool filtering system. NOT PLACING THE 6-WAY VALVE CORRECTLY When manoeuvring the 6-way valve, do not forget to replace it correctly. No ensuring correct position can lead to a water leak. 28 NOT SETTING THE TIME CLOCK OF THE SWITCHBOARD 29 SAVING MONEY BY REDUCING THE FILTRATION TIME Note that the hotter and the larger number of swimmers the more time is needed for the filtration take effect. The maintenance of the established filtering period assures the balance of the water quality and saves money with chemical products for shock treat. 30 OVER HEATING OF THE WATER In summer, the water temperature increases, but be aware of the fact that it is much more difficult to monitor hot water (higher than 30ºC) than cooler water. Do not hesitate to remove the isothermal cover if the temperature reaches high values. 31 CUTTING THE GRASS AND NOT CONSIDERING WIND DIRECTION 3 2 If you cut the grass around your swimming pool, take into account the wind direction in order to prevent your swimming pool from being covered by little pieces of grass, which significantly increases the maintenance work for your swimming pool. PLANTING DECIDUOUS TREES Following the information given for the grass cutting, avoid planting deciduous trees. On your switchboard there is a time clock that programs the operation time of the filtering system. If there is a power cut, do not forget to reprogram the time clock to the correct time. 29

THESWIMMINGPOOL The structure including the tank where you are going to swim is designed to be long lasting. It will last longer, if you avoid the following: 33 NEGLECTING TO CLEAN THE WATER LINE 3 4 The water line is a very delicate point. Here the pollution and sun effects are seen more obviously. For hygienic and aesthetic reasons, it is advisable to keep this space clean and in good condition with the help of special products. EMPTYING YOUR SWIMMING POOL WITHOUT INFORMING THE TECHNICIAN Do not change the water of your swimming pool if it is in good condition. If you want to empty it, regardless of the reason you may have, contact your installer first, who will know what to do. Never forget that the drain system exists for the safety of your swimming pool. 3 7 SURROUNDINGS When there is work in progress, especially involving welding, such as frame installation or telescopic thermal covers, you should carry out the necessary protection so as to prevent debris from coming into contact with the structure as it can damage it. USING CHLORINE IN TABLET FORM DIRECTLY INTO THE SWIMMING POOL The solid chemical products should always be used in the Skimmer so as to prevent your swimming pool staining and becoming discoloured. 38 USING ALUMINIUM OBJECTS WITHOUT PLASTIC PROTECTION Cleaner objects made from aluminium, such as vacuums and telescopic poles should only be used if the edges are provided with the original plastic part protection in order to avoid scratches, which can be difficult to remove from your swimming pool structure THROWING SHARP OBJECTS INTO YOUR SWIMMING POOL Always check your children s toys. A sharp object can, by accident, hit another child or the swimming pool structure and damage it! NEGLECTING TO PROTECT THE SWIMMING POOL WHEN THERE IS WORK OR WELDING IN PROGRESS IN THE EQUIPMENT If you want to keep the equipment of your swimming pool in good condition or operate in an effective way avoid making the following mistakes. 39 FORGETTING TO FILL THE VACUUM HOSE WITH WATER BEFORE SWITCHING THE SYSTEM ON To operate the suction system, either in automatic or manual mode, you should fill the vacuum hose with 30

water first before sticking it into the vacuum socket. Your vacuum device will then work correctly after switching the filtering system on. Non-compliance with this function will prevent the applied vacuum system from operating correctly and can also create serious problems to the motor of your pool as it can start to run dry. THE AUTOMATIC SUCTION DEVICE WORKS TOGETHER WITH THE FILTERING SYSTEM When you switch the automatic suction device on, do not forget that it will only work while the filtering system is on. It is, sometimes, preferable to switch the filtering system on using Manual mode in order to obtain the intended result. SWITCHING THE PROJECTORS ON WITHOUT FIRST BEEN IMMERSED Your swimming pool floodlights spread a heat that dissipates to avoid deforming projector elements and thus burning the bulb. The water cools them. Therefore it is necessary to fill the swimming pool and fully immerse the floodlights, before switching them on. In addition, don t let the projector continue to operate for more than 4 hours. OPENING THE SWITCHBOARD Never touch the switchboard of your swimming pool, without having switched the electricity from the circuit breaker off first and under the supervision of a technician. Remember that it is an electricity conductor and it may electrocute you. NOT PROTECTING THE ISOTHERMAL COVER After removing the isothermal cover from the swimming pool, either through a coil or manually, it is advisable to protect it from sun effects. Protecting it with a cover or keeping it in a dry, dark place will extend the life of its bubble cover. PLACING THE COVER WITH THE BUBBLES FACING THE EXTERIOR These cover bubbles are tiny magnifying glasses that absorb heat from the sun and give it back to the pool water, and thus it should be in contact with water so as to reach optimum effectiveness. In addition, the bubbles faced down not only warm up the water, but also work as suction caps keeping the cover on the water. USING THE BUBBLE COVER AS IN WINTER The isothermal cover should not be exposed to extremes of temperature as it becomes brittle and loses the bubbles. REMOVE THE WINTER COVER At the end of winter, vegetation and dust waste are accumulated on the cover. Be sure that they do not fall into the water. Before removing the cover, eliminate the accumulated dirt and, as a precautionary measure, after having been removed, wash it. Then put it away. LEAVING THE VACUUM HOSE IN THE SUN When the vacuum hose is not being used, keep it straight (not rolled up). In order to be in good condition and with no cracks, it should not be rolled up but stored straight and in a shaded place. LEAVING THE CHEMICALS 48 EXPOSED TO SUN AND HUMIDITY Do not leave the pool chemical products exposed to sun or in very 31

damp places. Avoiding such will better maintain the products and allow you to benefit from its advantages. 49 ALTERNATIVE WATER TREATMENT SYSTEMS Pool treatment is not solely dependent on alternative systems. It is advisable to check the condition of materials, such as electrodes and small electrical breakdowns. forget protect it from frost and dirt, which make it discoloured. Do not use silicon-based products, as they will make it slippery. Contact a technician. 50 NOT TAKING CARE OF THE WALL If you have chosen to put a stoned wall at your swimming pool, do not Notes/Observations. 32
