2 Tennis Rates Season Open Court Time Open Court Time is time not reserved for season courts, leagues or clinics. Members may reserve courts up to one week in advance. MRSC is not open Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Years Day & Easter Sunday. Season courts may be used during the Christmas and February school breaks. Balls are provided by the club.. Balls are provided by the club. Leagues are available to racquet associate, winter racquet and year-round racquet members. For racquet associates the league and membership fees are due by September 1 to secure your place in a league. For year-round and winter racquet members, there is a reservation fee of $95 for evening and Saturday morning prime-time play. 3 Adult Tennis Instruction Winter 2014 Get in the Game 6 Week Adult Clinic This six-week clinic is designed for both new and former tennis players who have been out of the game for a while. The clinic covers basic strokes and strategy of the game. Classes are for both men and women. Our experienced tennis professionals make sure you learn while having fun. Players can sign up for this clinic for a maximum of two six-week sessions. The class size has a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 players. Classes will consist of improving strokes and the introduction of doubles strategy and play. Class size will be a minimum of 3 and a target maximum of 6 players. Clinics will follow each 6 weeks. 4 Paddle Tennis Programs Season Paddle Tennis Program Platform Tennis usually referred to as Paddle Tennis is an American racquet sport which is played outdoors during the fall, winter, and early spring. MRSC has three paddle courts with lights and heaters underneath to melt off snow and ice. After a spirited game of paddle, players socialize in the warmth of our lounge which overlooks the paddle courts. Locker rooms with showers are available in the clubhouse. We have a men s doubles league for advanced players on Tuesday nights or you may also form your own group and book a season court at the same time each week. Balls are supplied by the club for season courts and leagues. Open court time is available for members and non-members. Paddle 101 A 6-week introduction to paddle. Find out what makes paddle so addictive! We re so sure you will love paddle that we are giving the first lesson for free. Players can sign up for this clinic for a maximum of two six-week sessions. 5 USTA Adult Tennis USTA Adult Tennis Program A 20 week competitive tennis program from Wed January 22, 2014 through Fri June 13, 2014 * The USTA Program offers the competitive tennis player the opportunity to challenge their skills and improve their game. This program offers instruction, high speed drilling, match play, and team strategy. A 1.5 hour practice session is spent on instruction, drilling, and supervised play. The 2 hour sessions expand the play time. Our target ratio is 4 players per pro. Official matches will be played against teams from other clubs. USTA League play format provides both singles and doubles. Match play is supervised by one of the pros. Our goal at the club is to be competitive in our league and contenders for districts, sectionals, and nationals each year. Cardio Tennis A 17-Week Program beginning January 27, 2014 Cardio Tennis is a popular group exercise that combines tennis with fast paced drills that keep players heart rates up. Cardio tennis is a form of interval training with short bursts of high intensity exercise followed by very short periods of rest. Class enrollment is limited to 10 players. Eight players are scheduled each week and two players are rotated out. 6 Junior Clinics Winter & Under Tennis Program runs from Monday 12/2/13 through Sunday March 30, 2014 (no classes 12/23/13-1/1/14) The USTA 10 & Under Tennis program using the new QuickStart format provides a unique opportunity for younger players to be introduced to the game. The courts, rackets and nets have been resized for children 10 and under who are learning the game. Mini Munchkins and Munchkins use a small court, half the length and half the width of a regular court. Fee will be adjusted for classes missed 2/14-2/17 if club is notified upon registration. 7 Junior Programs Fall/Winter USTA Jr. Team Tennis MRSC welcomes all players in our Junior programs who are interested in playing competitive tennis. With the recent success of Jr Team Tennis across the country and our own 14 & under team winning New England and advancing to the nationals, we have added additional teams in different age divisions to meet the popularity of competitive team tennis. Whether you are starting out in the 10 & Under Division with the QuickStart format or playing in the 14 & Under Advanced Division we have you covered. Match Fees 10 & Under $25 12 & Under $30 14 & Under $30 18 & Under $30 League Registration Fee: $21 Registration fee: $17 All players must be USTA members ATP - Advanced Tournament Player Program Juniors run from Monday 12/2/13 through 3/30/14 (no classes 12/23/13-1/1/14) High School runs from Monday 12/2/13 through Sunday 3/23/14 (no classes 12/23/13-1/1/14) This program is designed for junior players years of age who want to compete at a high level to achieve a USTA ranking. It is expected that players will do at least 2 days of instruction & fitness and a day of supervised doubles match play or singles ladder play against other players in the program. On weekends the players are expected to compete in one USTA tournament per month. *Players must be recommended to the program by the Director of Tennis. Fee will be adjusted for classes missed 2/14-2/17 if club is notified upon registration.
