2 SQUASH, BLOSSOMING Rising star, Amanda Sobhy, has claimed multiple squash titles and has achieved history-making, unprecedented success since the age of 12 when she first picked up a racquet. Sobhy won 13 PSA Tour titles even before becoming a full-time touring professional, and she celebrated her 17th birthday by becoming the first American to secure a world squash championship title by winning the Women s World Junior Squash Championship. 3 A NEW ATHLETE FOR THE AGES Just as Mia Hamm was the face of women s soccer and Serena Williams the venerable face of women s tennis, Amanda Sobhy is the new, fresh face of squash. She and her younger sister, Sabrina, led the U.S. National Team to a fifth-place finish -- its best ever showing -- at the World Team Squash Championships in 2014, and will once again join forces in November 2016 as part the US National Team. The top four best squash players in the United States will compete for a world title at the Women s World Team Championships in Paris, France with Amanda Sobhy at the helm of the National Team.
