3 Committee Structure Each committee will have a Chairperson There will be at least one or more committee members Each committee will have a detailed description of work to be performed as directed by the GTC Board Each committee will fall under the responsibility of one or more GTC Board members Each Committee Chairperson will report directly to the assigned GTC Board member The assigned GTC Board member will report to the GTC Board 3

4 Committee Chairperson Responsibilities Will be responsible for conducting all committee meetings Will be responsible for submitting the committee s budget Will be responsible for reporting to the assigned GTC Board member on the committee s activities Will be responsible for supervising committee work assignments Will delegate work as necessary to other non-committee members Will get paid the same big bucks as the GTC Board members Will be appreciated by the entire Club membership 4

5 Communication Committee Elect a Chairperson for the Communication Committee Will be responsible for creating and maintaining a monthly or bimonthly newsletter Will be responsible for keeping our GTC website with current information Will be responsible for developing and maintaining the three (3) GTC bulletin boards Will be responsible for issuing blasts for the various leagues, drop-in groups and social events Will be responsible for developing a budget for the Communication Committee 5

6 Social Committee Elect a Chairperson for the Social Committee Will be responsible for developing a social calendar for the year Will be responsible for submitting a budget for the Social Committee Will be responsible for the three (3) major social events for the club: Holiday Party in December Welcome Back Party in October Spring Going Away Party in April Will be responsible for other social events as developed by the Social Committee 6

7 Tennis Instruction Committee Elect a Chairperson for the Tennis Instruction Committee Will be responsible for developing a tennis instruction program (clinics, etc.) for the year Will be responsible for working with the various tennis instructors approved by the GTC (USPTA Certified, and other instructors) Will be responsible for developing a budget for the Tennis Instruction Committee 7

8 Tournaments Committee Elect a Chairperson for the Tournament Committee Will be responsible for developing a tennis tournament program for the year Will be responsible working with the different levels of play to establish what type of tournaments our membership would like to see Will be responsible for finding a Tournament Director for the Shine-in-the-Sun Tennis Tournament and assisting with it Will be responsible for developing a budget for the Tournament Committee 8

9 Court Usage Committee Elect a Chairperson for the Court Usage Committee Will be responsible for developing a plan for to ensure that the club fully utilizes all courts as best they can Will be responsible for unblocking courts blocked but not being used by designated groups Will be responsible for establishing a contact point for gathering information from members for unused courts 9

10 New Comers Committee Elect a Chairperson for the New Comers Committee Will be responsible for developing a plan for welcoming new comers Will be responsible for gathering information from the Treasurer whenever someone joins the club Will be responsible for contacting new comers and letting them know everything the club has to offer (website, instruction, socials, drop-ins, etc.) Will be responsible for directing the new comer to our club Rating System and helping them start in the correct group 10

11 Committee Volunteers Needed There are volunteer sign up sheets on the table next to the exit There is a sheet labeled for each committee Signing up as a volunteer does not commit you to anything until the committee meets Most volunteers will not have to spend a lot of time working on their committee Work should be distributed among the other volunteers To have a thriving, successful tennis club, we need our volunteers to help us accomplish this 11
