2 UNIT ONE Topic: History of Badminton to know the main events in the history of Badminton to ask and answer questions as a group and in groups of four. to select information and communicate it in different ways. Methodological skills: to to develop strategies to understand the contents. to identify and access a range of relevant information. to apply previous knowledge and skills. Timing: 3 sessions Aims: To understand the history of this sport. TEACHING OBJECTIVES LEARNING OUTCOMES To organize the main events chronologically. To locate different places in a map To offer opportunities for the students -Apply new concepts and vocabulary. -To read for specific information. 3 Topic: Badminton:First contacts Timing: 2 sessions UNIT TWO To manage with Badminton Terminology To ask and answer questions as a group and in groups of four. To select from information and communicate it in different ways. To express opinions Methodological skills: To develop strategies to understand the contents. To identify and access a range of relevant information. To assimilate and integrate new vocabulary To work in group, share opinions and be critical Aims: to demonstrate forehand grip and serve and return shuttle to the opponent s court. 4 Topic: The service Timing: 2 sessions: lessons 6 and 7 UNIT THREE To learn and apply basic skills in Badminton To ask and answer questions as a group and in groups of four. To select from their knowledge and communicate it in different ways. To express opinions and understand orders. Methodological skills: To introduce the concept of service. To differentiate the three parts of a service. To assimilate and integrate new vocabulary. To work in a group, share opinions and be critical. To be aware of the importance of doing a good warm-up. Methodological skills: To introduce the concept of stroke To know how to use the strokes properly To assimilate and integrate new vocabulary. To work in group, share opinions and be critical. To be aware of the importance of doing a good warm-up.
