2 OUR COACHING STAFF 1 The tennis staff at Four Lakes Athletic Club brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to their craft. They are passionate about maximizing the potential of everyone who walks through the door. All of our coaches are extremely accessible, so feel free to contact them directly with questions and for consultation. JONATHAN TEUNE Director of Tennis: Jonathan has experience coaching elite juniors through his work at numerous Chicago area tennis clubs. He has coached players to USTA District, Sectional and National Rankings as well as college play at NCAA DI, DII, DIII and NAIA levels. Jonathan holds a PTR certification and played college tennis at Taylor University (NAIA) and Lewis University (NCAA DII). GRANT PAISLEY Director of Tennis: Grant has trained some of the top juniors in Chicago. His students have won state championships (Illinois) and earned NCAA DI scholarships. Grant s teaching resume includes Junior Director at Five Seasons Burr Ridge. Besides teaching, he has extensive experience directing USTA tournaments of all levels. JEFF BERNALES Head Pro: Jeff has coached tennis for over 20 years in the greater Chicago area as a Tennis Professional at Midtown, Bannockburn and an Assistant Coach at Stevenson High School. He has coached several kids to state championships in Illinois, and was named Assistant Coach of the Year in Jeff is a USPTA Certified Tennis Professional and brings a track record of success to FLAC. Jeff is also an Etcheberry Certified Strength and Conditioning coach. CHRIS CHEN (262) chris@flaconline.com Staff Pro: Chris is both a PTR certified tennis coach as well as a NASM certified personal trainer. Besides coaching at FLAC, he is also the head women s tennis coach at Elkhorn High School. Chris attended Yale University and played on the club tennis team there. BRIAN JAAKSI (262) jon@flaconline.com (262) grant@flaconline.com (262) jeff@flaconline.com (262) brian@flaconline.com Staff Pro: Brian earned a degree from the prestigious Professional Tennis Management Program at Ferris State University. He has also earned a P2 Certification through the USPTA. Before FLAC, Brian had done most of his teaching in Georgia and Minnesota. He has trained players of all levels from beginners to those with national rankings.

3 Hwy 67 JUNIOR TENNIS OUR PHILOSOPHY The junior program at FLAC is designed to be both fun, yet demanding. Participants will be provided the necessary skill development to excel at the recreational, high school, USTA and college level. FLAC utilizes a USTA recommended pathway, including low-compression tennis balls (Foam, Red, Orange, Green). An evaluation is required for participation in the program. FOAM RED ORANGE GREEN STANDARD ELITE ELITE SUMMER PROGRAMMING We offer both camps and sessionbased programming during the summer. The regular meeting locations for the camps and classes are either Elkhorn Area High School (outdoors: 482 E. Geneva St., Elkhorn, WI) or FLAC (indoors: 351 E. Morrissey Dr., Elkhorn, WI). Please check carefully in this brochure for the specific location of your program. FLAC will be the backup site for all regularly scheduled outdoor classes in cases of rain or extreme heat. Each day is pre-planned to include dynamic drilling, matchplay and an all-important fitness component. FLAC offers flexible, package pricing. The more drills you purchase, the more money you save. If you purchase a group package, you can attend whichever days work best with your schedule. With airconditioned indoor back-up, camp will never cancel! 6 GENERAL DAY CAMP INFORMATION 1. Packages are purchased and good PER summer. Unused packages do not transfer beyond August If you purchase a group package, you can choose whichever days in a session you would like to attend (we will keep track of days attended). 3. Package plans may be split between siblings attending the same camp (ie: a family purchases a 20 drill package in Super Elite and each child attends 10 Super Elite drills). 4. Individual groups cannot be pro-rated (ex: coming for just 2 hours and having only 2 hours taken off your package for a 2.5 hour drill). 5. A 2-pay payment plan is available. CAMP FLAC JUNIOR TENNIS SESSION-BASED CLASSES Besides camps, we are offering multiple classes this summer that are session based. These are held at FLAC (indoors). If there are specific dates that you will not be able to attend, we will pro-rate those days out at the time of registration. In this class, players will hit a lot of balls and learn the proper strokes and footwork necessary for productive matchplay. Summer Session: June 6 August 18 (break: July 3 7) Tue: 4:30 6 pm (at FLAC) / Thu: 4:30 6 pm (at FLAC) 1 day a week for 10 week session... $185 2 days a week for 10 week session (save 12%)... $325 ADULT TENNIS FLAC offers a wide range of programming for adults. Please contact Jonathan Teune at or jon@flaconline.com if you have any questions or would like an evaluation. 6:1 player to coach ratio strictly maintained. To maintain this ratio, advance notice is required when dropping in. Session price can be pro-rated if you specify in advance which dates you will be missing. FLAC will be the indoor backup in case of rain or extreme heat. If indoors, court time is free after the drill (when available). Kids Club (daycare) is available for drills held at FLAC. 9 SUMMER EVENTS We believe in the importance of having fun both on and off the courts. Friendships made through tennis can last a lifetime. FLAC TENNIS SUMMER KICKOFF Sunday, May 21 The 2 nd annual FLAC Tennis Summer Kickoff will be held on the beautiful shores of Geneva Lake at Holiday Home Camp in Williams Bay (571 Outing St, Williams Bay, WI 53191). Come and enjoy time eating, drinking and hanging out with your tennis friends and coaches. This event is open to all FLAC tennis players and their families. There is no charge for this event. Instead, we ask that people consider giving a donation to Holiday Home Camp. Holiday Home Camp s mission is to provide educational and recreational programming that helps disadvantaged youth develop the life skills necessary to become self-reliant, productive members of their families, schools and communities. Please RSVP by contacting Jonathan or Grant. FLAC 15 YEAR ANNIVERSARY BASH Date/time TBD Wrap up the summer with us at our 15 th Anniversary Bash! We have a lot to celebrate and we hope you can join us for this fun for the whole family party. We ll have good food, festivities, contests, raffles and more. Keep an eye out for more details throughout the summer. WOODIE DOUBLES TOURNAMENT Date/time TBD for Everyone for Everyone for Adults Adults, this one s for you! A tournament with a twist all participants must use a wood racquet! If you don t have a wood racquet, we will provide one for you. Food and drinks will be provided. Cost: $20 per person. 10 SUMMER EVENTS GREAT AMERICA Monday, July 31 for Juniors This will be the 3 rd year we take a group of juniors to Six Flags Great America. Anyone who has ever been to Great America in Gurnee, IL knows that this trip is a blast! We ll ride to the park together and spend the day having fun. Let Jonathan or Grant know if your child is interested in reserving a spot. Cost: Your child s ticket for admission to the park and food. TENNIS & MOVIE NIGHT Date/time TBD It s just what you d expect! We ll have a tennis open gym for for Juniors the kids to play, have pizzas for dinner and watch a movie on the projector in the FLAC basketball gym. Cost: $5 per person. TENNIS & BOWLING NIGHT for Juniors Date/time TBD We ll meet at FLAC for some tennis, then we ll be off to a local bowling alley for more fun this time on the lanes! Cost: TBD. FLAC LOCK-IN for Juniors Date/time TBD You won t want to miss this one! We will have a separate lock-in for the Elite and for the Super Elite campers. The lock-in will include games, food, bonfire, and camping outside/inside of FLAC. Cost: $10 per person. 9 MONDAY JR. TENNIS X-TRAINING Every other Monday (starting June 5) for Juniors Jonathan will be running a free fitness workshop for FLAC juniors every other Monday morning during the summer. The type of training will differ each week: bleacher runs, weight training, stand-up paddle boarding, Kettle Moraine hike/jog. Have fun while getting in great shape.
