2 Leeper Park Tennis Center, a facility of the South Bend Venues Parks & Arts, is located in the heart of downtown South Bend in historic Leeper Park. With 14 fully-lit tennis courts, men s and women s locker rooms and air conditioned snack bar and club house, it is one of the best tennis facilities in northern Indiana. We are easily accessible just off of north Michigan Street, north of Memorial Hospital and south of the St. Joseph River. Contact us for more information! LEEPER TENNIS CENTER 837 N. Lafayette Blvd., South Bend, IN EVENTS APRIL 2 9 Registration opens for all lessons, programs, camps ICCL School League begins HOURS Regular Season: June 4-August 24, 2018 Monday-Friday: 8:00am-8:00pm We welcome open court time in the off-seasons, however, available hours will vary based on St. Joseph High School Boys and Girls Tennis practice and match schedules. Please Note: Weekend open court hours vary based on tournament schedules - please call in advance for available court times. OPEN PLAY COURT FEES DAILY PLAY Adult $5.00 Child $3.00 (12 and under) Senior $3.00 FACILITY RENTAL Leeper Tennis Center is available to rent for tournaments, tennis matches, tennis fundraisers, etc. based on availability. 3 PEE WEE TENNIS (AGES 3-4) Times: 8:30-9:00am or 5:30-6:00pm (30 minute sessions) Youth size racquets and nets are used with foam balls to encourage success. These lessons focus on developing large motor skills and eye-hand coordination with games and activities geared to teach beginning form and technique. Min 5/Max 20 YOUTH LESSONS & DATES Youth lessons are offered weekly. Participants may sign up for as many weeks as they like; those attending multiple weeks will be identified and will receive progressive lessons curriculum. Families enrolling two or more children or registering for two or more weeks will receive a 10% discount. Week 1: June Week 2: June Week 3: June Week 4: July 2-5 (No Classes) Week 5: July 9-12 Week 6: July Week 7: July Week 8: July 30-August 2 Missed/Cancelled Lesson Policy: We are pleased to provide several options for missed and/or cancelled lessons. Please visit our website at for more information on the Missed/ Cancelled Lesson Policy. This information is also available to pick up at Leeper Tennis Center. LITTLE SHOTS (AGES 5-8) Times: 9:15-10:00am or 6:00-6:45pm (45 minute sessions) Age appropriate racquets and nets as well as low compression balls on smaller courts are used with this age group to encourage rallying and success! These lessons will focus on developing large motor skills, increased eye-hand coordination, development of technique, proper form, and positioning. Min 5/Max 25 BEGINNERS (AGES 9-12) Times: 10:15-11:15am or 5:30-6:30pm (60 minute sessions) Basics of tennis are taught, from ground strokes and volleys to scoring and serves. Green stage balls will be used for better stroke production and play. Min 5/Max 25 INTERMEDIATE (AGES 13-17) Times: 10:15-11:15am or 5:30-6:30pm (60 minute sessions) Great for all skill levels! Players will learn the basic fundamentals with the goal for players to hold a rally, match play and learning how to keep score. Basics are covered with a focus on technique development. Min 5/Max 20 PLAY WITH ME - PARENT/CHILD TENNIS* We heard your concerns regarding wait times during lessons and are pleased to offer this great new program! Parents and their children ages 2-12 will be able to enjoy tennis focused games and activities during siblings tennis lessons! Fee: $3/child drop in fee; $12/week when you register in advance! *This program is available during all regularly scheduled youth tennis lessons. Please Note: Parents are REQUIRED to stay with their children at all times while in the Play With Me area. All equipment provided. An instructor will be available to answer questions.

4 PRIVATE LESSONS & CUSTOM DRILLS Leeper Tennis Center is now offering private tennis lessons! Private lessons are a great way for anyone at any skill level to sharpen their skills and improve their game. Our private lessons are taught by qualified, knowledgeable staff on the courts at Leeper Tennis Center. 8 years & under (30 minute sessions) Fee: $25/session 9-10 year olds (45 minute session) Fee: $30/session year olds (60 minute session) Fee: $35/session Adults (15+) (60 minute session) Fee: $40/session Group Rate (60 minute session) Fee: $20/session/person (min. three people) Please Note: Due to safety concerns, we ask that all children not engaged in tennis lessons please refrain from playing on other courts or throwing/hitting balls in the viewing area. We appreciate your cooperation as we strive to keep everyone safe. Space is limited! To schedule your lesson, please call Leeper Tennis Center at Private lessons are offered on a first come, first served basis based on instructor availability. Group lessons are also available; please call to inquire about rates and availability. LEEPER PARK TENNIS CAMP Ages 5-12 Session 1: June (Monday Thursday) Session 2: July (Monday Friday) Session 3: August 6 10 (Monday Friday) Time: 9:00am 4:00pm Fee: $120/Session 1/child, Fee: $150/Session 2&3/child Join us for a fun filled week of tennis instruction, games, activities and skill level match play! This camp is for all skill levels. Racquets are available for use during camp, however participants are encouraged to bring their own. Campers are required to bring a water bottle, sunscreen and sack lunch. Camp will run rain or shine - in the event of rain, games and skill drills will take place in the clubhouse. *Drop off time is 8:00-9:00am; pick up time is no later than 5:00pm. A late fee of $5 for every 5 minutes past 5:00pm will be assessed. (Register in person or over the phone to receive a 10% discount* per child when registering multiple children from the same family. 5 YOUTH & FAMILY SATELLITE SITES Dates: TBD The South Bend Venues Parks & Arts Department is pleased to offer FREE Tennis Lessons at area parks. Lessons are geared for ages 5 and up with the goal of learning a new sport, improving skills, staying active and having fun! Please Note: There is no registration required, just come out and play! Participants are required to wear gym shoes to be able to play. Lessons and locations are subject to change. No lessons if it rains or in extreme heat. Equipment will be provided however you may bring your own. Participants are encouraged to bring water. YOUTH COMPETITION AND MATCH PLAY RED BALL/ORANGE BALL Dates: Wednesday, July 18 Thursday, July 26 Red Ball one-day tournament is for children 8U to experience tournament play. The 8 & Under division will play on 36 courts with red low compression balls. Orange Ball one-day tournament is for children 10U to experience tournament play. The 10 & Under division will play on 60 courts with orange tennis balls. SINGLE DAY SHOWDOWN Dates: June 13 & 27, July 11 & 25 A Single Day Showdown is the perfect tournament structure for junior tennis players who want more match play but don t have all weekend. These tournaments provide the perfect balance of competition and fun for players, while providing great flexibility for tournament directors and an attractive option for today s busy tennis families. ADVANCED CAMP 1 & 2 (AGES 12 16) Session 1: July 9 13 (Monday Friday) Session 2: July (Monday Friday) Time: 9:00 am 1:00pm Fee: $150/camp/week **NEW 2018** This high intensity camp is for tennis players ready to take their game to the next level. They will focus on footwork, stroke production and technique. Gain more match play experience and learn from experienced local tennis coaches. Participants should bring their own racquet, water bottles and a snack. Drop off time is 8:30-9:00am. Pick up no later than 1:30pm *Multiple Child Discount Available. LEEPER PARK TEAM TENNIS (AGES 7+) Session 1: June 12 July 12 (Tuesday/Thursday) Session 2: July 17 August 16 (Tuesday/Thursday) Grades: 2nd 4th, 5th 8th, 9th 12th 5:00 pm 6:00 pm Cost: $70/session/child Broken down into 3 different grade groups, team tennis will include competition, developmental training focusing on agility, strength and team play. This is a great opportunity to advance your skills and learn to play as a team. Please Note: You must be able to hold a rally, have good tracking skills, be willing to learn to keep score and interested in competitive match play. Players will initially be placed by age but may move based on skill level at the instructor s discretion. JUNIOR METRO CHAMPIONSHIPS Singles & Doubles Dates: July Register online at usta.com, by phone (credit card only), or with cash, check or credit card at Leeper Tennis Center. USTA membership is NOT required to participate in these events. PARENT/CHILD DOUBLES July 6 Fun family night for the parents to pair up with their children and compete! Lots of family activities to do, so bring the whole family!

6 ADULTS USTA START/RESTART PROGRAM (AGES 15+) Dates: June 11 - July 11 and/or July 16-August 15 (no class 7/4) Meets Mon. & Wed. Time: 5:30-6:30pm Interested in learning to play or maybe you used to play and need to brush up on your skills? Join our USTA Adult Start/Restart Program at Leeper Tennis Center! Quality instruction in a low-stress, fun social environment. Drop in when you can or register for the entire session and save!
