5 The State Tournament Bulletin is for your benefit. Please read and make sure all necessary parties receive the correct information concerning the tournament. Official Game Ball: Baden Perfection VX5EC-209 (Top-Grade, Top-Grain, Full Presorted Leather) 2015 National Federation Volleyball Playing Rules and LHSAA Rules will be followed. 6 TEAM AREAS IMPORTANT REMINDERS Team areas will be located in Hall C. Teams will enter the playing court from the Hall C loading dock. (Loading dock closest to the Hilton Garden Inn) ELIGIBILITY OF PLAYERS All players must meet all LHSAA eligibility rules and be registered and submitted online to the website. SPECIAL REMINDER TO COACHES Do not allow your team members to bounce the volleyball off the ceilings and walls in the lobby or hallways. Each team will be allowed 24 personnel to enter. The 24 includes coaches, players in uniform (18 maximum), managers, trainers and statisticians. No Exceptions. Team photographs will be taken when teams enter court from the Hall C loading dock. (Loading dock closest to the Hilton Garden Inn) Teams must be in game uniform. Photos will take approximately 10 minutes. PARTICIPATING TEAM SEATING Teams must sit in the second (upper) level seating when their team is not playing or in the cut out sections on the east side of the arena. TEAM ENTRY AND EXIT All players, coaches and team personnel must enter through and exit the Pontchartrain Center through the team entrance as a group. Teams may not enter the facility until one (1) hour prior to first match. Teams should court from the Hall C loading dock. (Loading dock closest to the Hilton Garden Inn) Teams must enter and exit the Pontchartrain Center through the Hall C loading dock. No team will be allowed to exit the facility by walking in front of stands. NON-PARTICIPATING TEAM SEATING Teams MUST enter with their coach and MUST be together to enter for free. Non- Participating Team Door is located at the Coaches Pass Gate. TEAM BENCHES All players and team personnel associated with the team must be seated. No one will be allowed to stand behind the benches. THE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. PRE-GAME WARM-UP Teams will be allowed 15 minutes on the court warm-ups for both the semifinal and final games. 7 POST-GAME IMPORTANT REMINDERS (continued) Quarterfinals & Semifinals: Teams are asked to exit the court and return to Hall C and exit facility through Hall C. Finals: Both schools are required to remain on the court and participate in the awards ceremony until its completion. Failure to do so will result in the offending school being fined under Rule on page 56 of the LHSAA Handbook. Post-Game Interviews: o Coaches must cooperate with the media by attending post-game interview sessions immediately following their game. o Players that are requested by the media to attend the post-game interview shall do so in uniform. o Any school failing to comply with this will be subject to being penalized under Rule on page 56 of the LHSAA Handbook. HOSPITALITY ROOM The hospitality room will be located in Meeting Room #3. All coaches must present the colored band of the day for admittance into the hospitality room. No one will be allowed without proper credentials. BUSES Buses must drop off teams by the Hall C loading dock. 9 REPORTING AUTOMATIC QUALIFIERS/WILDCARDS 1. Coaches of 1 st and 2 nd place teams must report to the LHSAA to be placed on the bracket. No extensions will be granted to make-up matches. 2. The LHSAA shall have the following information, submitted on the official forms by the deadline date and time of Saturday, October 31, 2015 by 10:00 PM. a. District Final Standing Form and District Chairperson s Certification Form. The District Chairperson Certification Form must be submitted by District Chairperson. DIVISION WILDCARD SUPPLEMENT NO. 10 PLAYOFF INFORMATION Completely familiarize yourself with Section 24 (Pages ) of the LHSAA Handbook. DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVES NAME: 1 ST AND 2 ND PLACE IN ALL DIVISIONS Must be determined in each district in each division by 10:00 PM on Saturday, October 31, EXTENSIONS FOR DETERMINING DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVES Extensions will not be granted District Representatives must be reported to the LHSAA via one of the following outlets by the established deadline. o Fax: (225) or (225) o rblanfordgreen@lhsaa.org FAILURE TO REPORT DISTRICT RESULTS Schools will be fined $100 for failing to report their automatic qualifiers by the established deadline. FOR WILDCARD INFORMATION Refer to Section on Page 149 of the LHSAA Handbook REPORTING BI-DISTRICT AND REGIONAL RESULTS Must be reported to the LHSAA by the winning schools immediately upon completion of the match. FAILURE TO REPORT BI-DISTRICT AND REGIONAL PLAYOFF CONTESTS The winning team must report the results of the contest or be fined $100 for failing to report. DETERMINING HOME TEAM Refer to Rule on Page 63 of the of the LHSAA Handbook. STEPS FOR ENTERING PLAYOFF SCORES ON MAXPREPS Please go to then Sports, then Bracket s, then Volleyball. There you will find step by step instructions for entering scores via Maxpreps. FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS Found under Rule on Page 150 of the LHSAA Handbook. CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS All playoff matches will be played according to the 2015 National Federation Volleyball Rules and under the rules set forth by the LHSAA Constitution and By-Laws. OFFICIALS USED FOR BI-DISTRICT AND REGIONAL PLAYOFF CONTESTS Must be registered with the LHSAA Volleyball Officials Association and must be selected by mutual agreement between the two schools involved. The LHSAA does not assign officials for volleyball playoff matches. 11 Contact Rhonda Blanford-Green, LHSAA Assistant Executive Director Phone: (225) or (225) SEEDING FOR STATE TOURNAMENT Higher seeded team will be the home team PROHIBITED ITEMS STATE TOURNAMENT RULES All schools are responsible for the actions of their students and fans unauthorized items will be taken up at the gate. 1. Artificial noisemakers (excludes pep band equipment) bells, horns, music boxes, etc. 2. Confetti 3. Food and drink cans and bottles 4. No balloons or flowers in glass containers 5. Laser beams 6. All spectators must be fully clothed and shirts must remain on inside the Pontchartrain Center. ANY POM-POMS, BANNERS, FLAGS, ETC. THAT APPEAR TO CAUSE POSSIBLE INJURY TO SURROUNDING SPECTATORS WILL BE REMOVED. ANY ITEM THAT OBSTRUCTS SPECTATORS VIEW WILL BE REMOVED. SIGNS AND DECORATIONS Please inform boosters, fans and support groups No one will be allowed to present any team with state championship t-shirts, caps or similar items in the Pontchartrain Center on the day/night of play. 12 TICKETS AND ADMISSION ALL TICKETS AND GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS $10 per ticket per session 3 Day Volleyball Tournament Pass (3 Sessions) $25 Sold on Thursday only 2 Day Volleyball Tournament Pass (2 Sessions) $15 Can be used for any TWO days. Gates open 1 hour prior to each session Note: 1 session is equivalent to 1 day of tournament play. TEAM PASSES Each team will be allowed 24 personnel to enter. The 24 includes coaches, players in uniform (18 maximum), managers, trainers and statisticians. No Exceptions. All others must purchase a ticket at full price. CHEERLEADER PASSES All Cheerleaders MUST enter the Pontchartrain Center together, in uniform and accompanied with one Cheer Sponsor to enter free of charge. All cheerleaders will enter through the Hall C loading dock. (Loading dock closest to the Hilton Garden Inn) Any cheerleaders NOT with their team upon entering will be required to pay full ticket price. FACULTY CARDS & LIFETIME CARDS LHSAA PASS GATE (ENTRANCE 4) Must have coaches card. Must present current driver s license. Allows cardholder and one guest to enter Pontchartrain Center. Cards will be revoked if misused and the owner of the card may appear before the LHSAA Executive Committee and LHSCA Executive Council NON-FACULTY COACHING CARDS - LHSAA PASS GATE (ENTRANCE 4) Must have coaches card. Must present current driver s license. Allows only the cardholder free admittance. OFFICIALS CARDS - LHSAA PASS GATE (ENTRANCE 4) Must have coaches card. Must present current driver s license. Only volleyball officials will be admitted on his/her card. 13 SUPPORT GROUPS PEP BANDS All band members MUST enter the Pontchartrain Center together, in uniform and accompanied with one Faculty Sponsor to enter free of charge. All band members will enter through the Hall C loading dock. (Loading dock closest to the Hilton Garden Inn) Any band members NOT with their group upon entering will be required to pay full ticket price. Must sit in a special section behind team area designated by the LHSAA. Bands cannot play during any live ball on any of the 3 courts. Must contain the normal instruments that are consistent with a regular band. Horns or drums alone are not allowed. SPIRIT SIGNS Must be in good taste and illustrate good sportsmanship. They may not block the view of spectators. No duct tape or scotch tape may be used in hanging banner. May be on paper or cardboard, and may have a shiny surface. STUDENTS MUST WEAR SHIRTS THE ENTIRE TIME THEY ARE OCCUPYING THE PONTCHARTRAIN CENTER AS STATED IN RULE 6.22 ON PAGE 66 OF THE LHSAA HANDBOOK. 14 MEDIA/SCHOOL YEARBOOK SCHOOL YEARBOOK/NEWSPAPER PERSONNEL Request media credentials online by visiting the Media Credential link on the LHSAA website ( Submit a letter from the school principal, at least 3 calendar days prior to the beginning of the tournament, requesting one (1) tournament pass for a yearbook and/or newspaper staff member with proper school identification. This letter should be sent to Jacob Doyle via fax at (225) or by to jdoyle@lhsaa.org. The purpose of the School Yearbook/Newspaper credential is to permit a complimentary entrance into the event for which the person is gathering information specifically for the school. Photos taken during an event may not be sold or used in any capacity outside of the purpose(s) of their school s yearbook and/or newspaper. The LHSAA hold an exclusive photography contract with Musemeche Photography. RADIO/INTERNET BROADCASTING Fee Per Game: $200 If station agrees to do LHSAA sponsor reads, the fee is reduced to $150. Stations broadcasting will be responsible for charge to originating point. GAME VIDEO Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Finals will broadcast live by the NFHS Network ( DVDs of the quarterfinals and semifinals can be purchased on the NFHS Network website ( DVDs of the finals can be purchased through the LHSAA for $30. Order forms are available in the official tournament program or on the LHSAA website ( Quarterfinal, semifinal and final rounds are NOT allowed to be videotaped by spectators. MEDIA GATE Media will enter through Gate 4, located at the front of the Pontchartrain Center State Volleyball Tournament Bulletin 13

15 HOTEL HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS Schools are responsible for securing their own hotel accommodations. Information will be posted in this bulletin as the LHSAA receives it. HOTEL SUPERVISION Teams must be supervised at all times. The school will be responsible for any damage to assigned rooms or hotels and their property. HOTEL RESERVATIONS All reservations are to be made by the individual teams at the hotel of your choice. All reservations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. All rooms must be guaranteed. Please supply credit card information at the hotel of your choice. When calling the hotel, please tell them that you are with the LHSAA to receive the discounted rate. All changes and cancellations should be made directly with the hotel.
