2 Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) is made up of 196,099 active-duty military, family members, civilians and military retirees that live and work in and around Fort Sam Houston, Lackland and Randolph. All three locations provide community service programs that enhance the quality of life for DOD ID cardholders and their families. Sponsorship Why? These programs affect the military mission by improving morale, productivity and retention. Programs such as fitness centers directly support unit readiness by providing a physically fit force. Our family support and quality of life initiatives help attract and retain a quality force. By partnering with JBSA through any one of the three Commercial Sponsorship representatives, you help us provide events that educate and instill confidence in our youth, entertain active-duty members and their families and promote a sense of community. Each event has expected attendance from a few hundred to thousands of service members and their families. Think of the exposure your company could receive and the many chances of acquiring loyal patrons through programs at our JBSA locations! Although not inclusive, this booklet offers several programs from each location; however, there are many other programs available that need your sponsorship support. Please contact one of the representatives listed on the last page of the brochure to obtain more information. Cash and in-kind support is needed and is negotiable based on the type and size of the event. 4 Snow Fest Jan. 25 JBSA~Lackland Slip and slide through the icy slopes of Texas! Bring the family out to the annual Snow Fest at the JBSA Lackland Amphitheater. This FREE event includes two snow slides, a large snow play area, interactive activities for all ages and music. Refreshments are available for purchase. 5 Glow in the Park 5K Feb. 23 JBSA~Fort Sam Houston Put on your neon war paint and come light up the night for the annual JBSA Glow in the Park 5K at the JBSA-Fort Sam Houston MacArthur Parade Field. You can run at your own pace while enjoying many crazy lighting effects and themed party stations on this illuminated nighttime course. After you victoriously reach the finish line you can show off your dance moves and your glow spirit at a celebratory dance party. This event is open to all DOD ID cardholders and all participants are encouraged to dress in their glow gear! Expected attendance is 3,500-4,000 patrons. Commercial Sponsorship Guide

6 Spring Concert March 16 JBSA~Lackland Come out to the JBSA-Lackland Amphitheater for a spring concert featuring the ultimate new wave 80 s band, The Spazmatics. In addition, DJ OMG Sounds will be spinning the latest and greatest tunes between their sets. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and dance the night away! 7 Cowboys for Heroes/Customer Appreciation March 30 JBSA~Fort Sam Houston Come on out for some good ole fashion western fun at the annual Cowboys for Heroes event at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston MacArthur Parade Field. This event features free authentic cowboy cooking with 1800s-style chuck wagons, a live horseback riding performance, petting zoo, family hay rides, pony rides, mechanical bulls, a demonstration of replica western-style guns, a Gun Fight melodrama, crafts, music and much more! Not to mention a sneak peak Cowboy dinner the night before catering to our wounded warriors. Expected attendance is between 2,000-2,500 patrons. Commercial Sponsorship Guide

8 Famaganza April 6 JBSA~Randolph The 502 Force Support Squadron present Famaganza in celebration of Month of the Military Child. Youth Programs is hosting their annual spring festival for all families (DOD ID cardholders) with loads of fun for everyone! The activities include face painting, inflatables, games, arts & crafts and entertainment. There will also be many information booths with giveaways, demonstrations and handouts. 9 JBSA Fiesta and Fireworks April 20 JBSA~Fort Sam Houston Arrive early and bring your lawn chair for continuous family fun at the JBSA-Fort Sam Houston MacArthur Parade Field. This event features refreshments and shopping vendors, continuous live musical entertainment, carnival rides, games, a military equipment static display and much more! 11 Take a Break at Canyon Lake May 4 JBSA~Canyon Lake Joint Base San Antonio folks are invited to take a break at the JBSA Recreation Canyon Lake. This annual event is intended to allow our patrons to experience all that Canyon Lake has to offer. All items that are available for rental are displayed and available for day use. Patrons will enjoy food, entertainment and giveaways. Expected attendance is 1,000-1,500 patrons. Commercial Sponsorship Guide

12 Taste of JBSA May 17 JBSA~Fort Sam Houston Come tantalize your taste buds at our second annual Joint Base San Antonio Wine and Beer Fest at the JBSA- Fort Sam Houston MacArthur Parade Field. This event brings together craft beer vendors and wineries offering tastings and purchases. Our patrons will enjoy a laid back ambiance with great entertainment, food, drinks and fun! 13 Customer Appreciation May 31 JBSA~Randolph The 502d Force Support Squadron thanks all of our customers for supporting our activities and programs throughout the year. This annual event is organized to demonstrate our appreciation and takes place at the JBSA-Randolph Parr Club. This event includes free food, music, interactive activities and much more. 14 Back to School Bash Aug. 3 JBSA~Fort Sam Houston Gear up for the new school new year at the Back-To-School Bash at the JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Youth Programs, bldg Free school supplies will be provided to all school age youth. 15 Oktoberfest/ Customer Appreciation Sept. 20 JBSA~Lackland Danke to all of our JBSA Community! The JBSA-Lackland Oktoberfest Customer Appreciation takes place at the JBSA-Lackland Amphitheater and includes a free German dinner for adults and free kids meal. Come join us for an evening filled with entertainment, door prizes, interactive activities, friendly contests and lots of fun for the entire family. 16 Rambler 120 Oct. 5 JBSA~Canyon Lake The Rambler 120 is a fun challenging event that promotes teamwork and competition and is designed to build esprit de corps among units, improve fitness levels and foster enjoyment of the outdoors! Start assembling your teams and training for a race through the Texas Hill Country. The event consists of a 22-mile bike ride, a 6-mile run and finishes with a 2-mile raft at the JBSA Recreation Park at Canyon Lake. 17 Oktoberfest Oct. 19 JBSA~Fort Sam Houston Enjoy live music, an authentic biergarten, festive food, and interactive activities for the whole family and much more. Parking and admission are free, so get your lederhosen on and meet us at the parking lot in front of the JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Military & Family Readiness Center for some mirthful merriment, Bavarian Style. 18 Zombie 5K Nov. 16 JBSA~Fort Sam Houston The Zombies have arrived, and it s up to you to survive! Do you have what it takes to escape a JBSA Zombie evasion? Come test your evasion skills at the free third annual Zombie Run behind the JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Aquatic Center. Culminate the evening with some food truck treats, entertainment, fitness challenges and undead fun! 19 Color Run 5K Nov. 23 JBSA~Lackland Wear white and join us at JBSA-Lackland to participate in the brightest 5K you will ever run! Prepare to be doused in different colors. After the race the fun continues with an unforgettable finish festival complete with music, dancing and massive color throw to create a rainbow of vivid color combinations. 22 Holiday Tree Lighting Dec. 6 JBSA~Fort Sam Houston Kick off the holiday season with the 502 Force Support Squadron for the JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Tree Lighting Ceremony, as we welcom Santa and the Grinch to light the 30-foot tree at the JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Main Flag Pole! These joyous festivities will include a real snow slide and play areas, children s crafts, hay rides, holiday music, refreshments and more!
