3 Applicant # 3 Bloorcourt Village BIA Ward: Ward 18 and Ward19 9 th Annual Sidewalk Sale and Music Festival A festival featuring free entertainment with musicians and bands, town crier, fashion show, face painting, and a photo contest. 4 Applicant # 4 Bloor-Yorkville BIA Ward: Ward 27 Bloor-Yorkville Icefest This event will include the installation of ice sculptures throughout the BIA neighbourhood, with a live ice sculpting competition in the Village of Yorkville Park. 5 Applicant # 5 Downtown Yonge BIA Ward: Ward 27 Winter Magic (A Series of Holiday Events) Winter Magic is a combination of two concurrent winter events within the BIA: Winter Kidzfest and Window Wonderland. 6 Applicant # 6 Dundas West BIA Ward: Ward 18 Samba on Dundas Events will take place at various corners of the BIA (Dundas and Brock/Dufferin/Gladstone) and will feature roving Samba percussion music. A musical performance will be held at Dundas and Sheridan. 7 Applicant # 7 Forest Hill Village BIA Ward: Ward 21, Ward 22 Forest Hill Village BIA Photography Contest The BIA will hold a photography contest in conjunction with the CONTACT Toronto Photography Festival. The contest is open to everyone and runs from February 29 th to April 15 th, with a theme of history and memory in Forest Hill Village. A gala, open to the public, will be held to display the grand prize winners. Winning entries will then be showcased in the windows of participating BIA merchants and local galleries from May 7 th to May 13 th, May 7 th to 13 th, $7, $0 $TBD New application $2,000 $1,000 An allocation of $1, is recommended for the Forest Hill Village BIA Forest Hill Village BIA Photography Contest event. 1st year of eligibility.

8 Applicant # 8 Kennedy Road BIA Ward: Ward 37 Kennedy Road Dollar Days A one day sale of Kennedy Road Dollars is proposed at a single location at Winston Churchill C.I. at Lawrence and Kennedy. Music, refreshments and booths will be set up at this location to promote local businesses, and the Dorset Park Community organization. Upon approval of the allocation, the BIA proposes to sell $80, of Kennedy Road Dollars at 15% discount for a cost of $68, The request to the City includes $20, of which $8, would be used for promotion and advertising, and the remaining $12, for the repayment of the retailers. CFSE program funds are not intended to be used to reimburse retailers for discount or sales promotions. If the BIA would like to re-develop the proposal focusing on community activities within the commercial area, further consideration could be given at the appeals stage of the CFSE Investment Program process. 9 Applicant # 9 Kingsway BIA Ward: Ward 5 Taste of the Kingsway Festival This annual festival, now in its 11 th year, is held along Bloor Street West from Prince Edward Drive to Montgomery Road. The event features food from over 30 Kingsway restaurants and entertainment, including a beer and wine garden, fashion show, dog show, harvest market, artisan and crafters pavilions, stage performances, etc. 250, Sept. 5 6, 2008 $180,500 $74,000 $TBD $4,500 $10,000 $4,050 An allocation of $4, is recommended for the Kingsway BIA for the Taste of the Kingsway event. Although the budget has now grown to over $100,000.00, the attendance figures and success of this event merit continued support under the CFSE Investment program. 3rd year of eligibility.

10 Applicant # 10 Liberty Village BIA Ward: Ward 14, Ward 19 Liberty Village s Free Speech Series The Liberty Village BIA plans to arrange speakers on topics of interest to the business community with presentations from distinguished speakers. Attendance will be open to all, and event promotion will reach beyond the BIA. Presentations will take place in local hospitality venues, and may include breakfast, lunch or after-work sessions with a focus on networking opportunities. 11 Applicant # 11 Mimico by the Lake BIA Ward: Ward Mimico Summer Festival The event is planned to celebrate the recent opening of the Mimico Linear Waterfront Park and the opening of the path. 12 Applicant # 12 Mimico Village BIA Ward: Ward 6 Mimico Village BIA Tulip Festival This event centers around the unveiling of annual four foot tall tulips painted by various community groups and children in the area. 13 Applicant # 13 Mirvish Village BIA Ward: Ward 19, Ward 20 Mirvish Village Pedestrian Sundays Mirvish Village will host 3 car-free Sundays (the 2 nd Sunday in June, July and August) to transform the neighbourhood streets to a venue that will showcase and celebrate the collective talents of the neighbourhood, bringing culture to the street. Activities will include music, performances by the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts, a local farmer s market and sidewalk sale. 3, June 8, July 13 and August 10, 2008 $10,781 $250 $TBD New application $5,000 $1,700 An allocation of $1, is recommended for the Mirvish Village BIA Mirvish Village Pedestrian Sundays event. 1st year of eligibility.

14 Applicant # 14 Pape Village BIA Ward: Ward 29 Pape Village BIA Holiday Celebration & Festival Event Description The event will include a celebration of the holidays to take place in December featuring family friendly activities and a musical concert. Efforts will be made to highlight various ethnic holidays to make this event more appealing to the multi-cultural community. Indoor activities will include cookie decorating, ornament making, face painting, story telling, carolling, arts and crafts, visits with Santa and/or animated characters, etc. Outdoor activities will include wagon rides, ice carving, sports, etc December 6, 2008 $24,000 $1,000 $6,000 New application $10,000 $1,000 An allocation of $1, is recommended for the Pape Village BIA Pape Village BIA Holiday Celebration & Festival event. 1st year of eligibility.

The event is based around the Riverdale Art Walk and will run for two days, June 8 th and 9 th, Activities will take place from 630 Queen Street East to Jimmie Simpson Park, and Munroe Street will be closed for entertainment. 17 Applicant # 17 Roncesvalles Village BIA Ward: Ward 14 Roncesvalles Polish Festival This event includes live Polish cultural performers and entertainment on three stages, a Harvest Parade, a street dance, craft and art display areas, beer and vodka gardens, a midway and skateboard park, and food stations offering samples. 75, , September 12, 13 and 14, 2008 $126,481 $127,000 $0 $2,260 $5,000 $2,035 An allocation of $2, is recommended for the Roncesvalles Village BIA Roncesvalles Polish Festival event. 18 Applicant # 18 St. Clair Gardens BIA Ward: Ward 17 St. Clair Gardens Festival of Lights This event is a lighting ceremony to be held in St. Clair Gardens Parkette. A Christmas tree and display will be will be lit up for the season. Entertainment will include a D.J., singer and refreshments. This BIA has access to the Shop St. Clair (SSC) sponsorship program, which provides funds for new events and festival activities as a mitigating measure during the streetcar track construction. Due to the heavy demand for the 2008 CFSE Investment Program, exceptions cannot be made to the program guidelines which state that allocations are not to be provided for programs where duplicate funding is available from other sources. Therefore, the St. Clair Gardens BIA is encouraged to include a funding request for this event in their SSC program application. 1st year of eligibility.

19 Applicant # 19 St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood BIA Ward: Ward 28 Woofstock This festival is described as the largest outdoor festival for dogs, with close to 100,000 to 120,000 participants. Admission is free for this event, which will include entertainment, educational presentations, demonstrations, activities and a consumer show. The festival will take place on Wellington Street between Church and Leader Lane, Berczy Park, Front Street from Scott to Church to Jarvis Street, Market Street North of the Esplanade to Colborne Street and Market Lane Park. 120, June 7 and 8, 2008 $94,689 $86,000 $222,700 + TBD $4,500 $10,000 $4,050 An allocation of $4, is recommended for the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Market BIA Woofstock event. 3rd year of eligibility.

20 Applicant # 20 Village of Islington BIA Ward: Ward 5 Paint the Street! This one-day event, now in its second year, will be a community celebration of the visual and performing arts. Events will take place along Dundas Street West, from Kipling to Islington. There will be a children s program with clowns, face painters, storytelling and interactive art projects. 21 Applicant # 21 Wexford Heights BIA Ward: Ward 37 Taste of Lawrence Festival Event activities include live entertainment, musicians, vendors village, food items, sidewalk sale, arts and crafts for children, clowns, midway, skateboarding park and inflatables. The event will take place along Lawrence Avenue East from Crockford Boulevard to just east of Warden Avenue within the Wexford Heights BIA. 150, July 4, 5, and 6, 2008 $103,300 $55,000 $TBD $2,200 $2,000 $1,980 An allocation of $1, is recommended for the Wexford Heights BIA Taste of Lawrence Festival. 22 Applicant # 22 Wychwood Heights BIA Ward: Ward 21 Wychwood Farmers Market This event will launch a farmers market that specializes in organic and locally grown merchandise. The farmers market was tested in 2007 and was very successful.
