1 MEDIA ALERT Contact: Presley Holloway, Rodeo Austin phone fax RODEO AUSTIN HOLDS JUNIOR MARKET GOAT SHOW Austin, Texas, March 16, 2016 Rodeo Austin held their Junior Market Goat Show where competitors battled for the title of Grand Champion. divisions. 4-H and FFA members competed in lightweight, medium-weight and heavyweight Luke Bauer, a ten-year-old competitor from Red Rock, said his parents inspired him to show livestock. They both showed steers growing up and have taught him the responsibility it takes to raise an animal. My parents encouraged me to show, and they told me I could choose any animal I wanted if I did, Bauer said. I chose goats because they re fun to play with and they have goofy personalities. Showing is great, Bauer said. It teaches kids about animals and it teaches others about agriculture and what we do. Bauer dreams to one day go to Harvard to study mechanical engineering. Results for the Junior Market Goat Show are listed below.
