1 SENIOR STARS HOCKEY LEAGUE 2014 SUMMER SEASON June - September 2013 The Senir Stars Hckey League (SSHL), the fficial adult hckey league f the Dallas Stars, is ready t light the lamp fr its 2014 summer seasn. Dr Pepper StarCenter facilities ffer A, B, C, D and D2 adult leagues. 2 League Scheduling The fllwing chart shws what days are assigned fr each league. Additinal days maybe required t accmmdate team verflw. The league will use its discretin when making changes t days and times but will try t stick t the days listed belw. 3 USA HOCKEY Insurance All players are required t submit a cpy f their USA Hckey receipt Players nt registered with USA Hckey fr the seasn will nt be allwed t participate in the league. Players wh did nt play in the winter seasn may register with USAH fr the seasn. Cverage frm either r is acceptable cverage is valid thrugh the end f the 2013 summer seasn. Team Assignment: We allw a maximum f 25 players per rster (nly a maximum f 20 players may dress fr any ne game). Players can t play n tw (2) teams at the same level. Players may play in 2 leagues but it can t be in mre than 1 level apart. Fr example a player can t play in the A League and the C-League but he can play in A League and the B League. The League reserves the right t mve players deemed t skilled fr a particular league. Team crdinatrs are financially respnsibility fr their team. Crdinatrs must cllect all registratin frms and turn them in as a cmplete packet by the dates indicated belw. Additinally, it is the Team Crdinatr s respnsibility t assign the team payment t the players in Pintstreak and t make sure each player pays his r her share by the payment deadline. Please nte that the registratin fee is a team based fee. Althugh the league allws yu t divide the payment up in Pintstreak, ultimately the entire team may be prevented frm playing if a prtin f the team fee is nt paid. Crdinatrs will cmmunicate all SSHL game rules and suspensins t the team. Crdinatrs will als be respnsible fr cmpleting a line up sheet t be turned int the screkeeper prir t each game. This is imprtant t keep accurate stats n players (especially tracking games played). Players deemed t skilled fr a particular divisin will be asked t mve. The league reserves the right t mve any player t ensure parity within the divisins and this will be left up t the discretin f the lcal hckey manager. If a player is asked t mve, the lcal hckey manager will try his best t find him a team in the apprpriate divisin. It is the Team Crdinatr s respnsibility t handle all cmmunicatins regarding player mvement f this nature with the League Manager.

4 SSHL PHOTO ID S fr C Leagues and belw Every player participating in the SSHL will require the pht ID card fr the purpse f identificatin. Once the lcal hckey manager has cnfirmed a team s registratin in Pintstreak then players wh dn t have a pht ID card can begin t get their cards: a. Official Rster b. Team Registratin Frm c. Individual registratin Frms and Waivers d. Individual r Team Payment Hw d I get my pht ID card? Once the team crdinatr has registered his team individual players may then jin that team and pay their fees n-line. Players may nt register withut their current USA Hckey number. Once registered and paid bring a cpy f yur receipt t the DPSC frnt desk and they will make a pht ID card fr yu. Is there an additinal cst fr the pht ID card? N, there is n additinal cst. Hw lng des it take t get the pht ID card? It will take a matter f minutes and yu will be n yur way. D I need t bring the card t every game? It is IMPERATIVE that yu bring yur VIP pht ID card t each game. NO CARD NO AY. Wh cllects the card n game day? Players will be required t turn in their pht ID card t the crdinatr, which will then give them t the screkeeper prir t game time. The screkeeper will acknwledge the card and add yu t the fficial game rster. Cards will be returned after the game. Will there be a grace perid? The league will allw a 1 game grace perid. After yu 1 st game, all players must have their ID card.

5 PAYMENT It is the respnsibility f the team crdinatr t set up his/her team accunt in Pintstreak. Each player must be listed and assigned a dllar amunt that the player is respnsible fr paying. The ttal f that $ amunt will equal the team fee fr the league. Attached are the Pintstreak tutrials with instructins n hw t register yur team. The prcess is very simple and nce yu are registered yu will already have an accunt fr future seasns! NOTE: While we allw the team fee t be divided amng players, nn-payment by individual players will affect the entire team. If a player des nt pay his share the Team Crdinatr is respnsible fr dividing the unpaid prtin up amng the ther players. The team fee is a discunted fee, and hence the entire team is respnsible fr the payment. 1) Hw t Register a Team Preparing fr Distributed Payments This dcument shuld be read first by Team Crdinatrs/Captains they will need t register the team befre the Players can prceed with their registratins 2) Hw t Register as a Rstered Player This dcument utlines hw players register fr their teams 3) Hw t Distribute Payments This dcument utlines hw Team Crdinatrs will allcate payment amunts t each f their players 4) Hw t Pay an Allcated Fee This dcument tells players hw t pay their fees after they have been allcated by the Captain 5) Hw t Register Multiple Teams If a Team Crdinatr is respnsible fr registering Multiple Teams they will want t review this dcument NOTICE: Players must be registered with USA Hckey befre the system will allw a player t register with a team and/r be added t a rster. This prcess will als add yur team t the stats and standings side f Pintstreak. Yur team will nt be listed in the schedule r in Pintstreak until the registratin prcess is cmplete. Individuals Lking T Play n a Team Individuals lking t play n a team shuld cntact the Facility Manager in charge f Hckey Prgrams at the Dr Pepper StarCenter yu are interested in. That Manager may set up an pen evaluatin skate and yu ll be asked t cme ut and shw yur skills. Team Representatives in need f players will be invited ut t the evaluatin where they will have an pprtunity t see yu and add yu t the team. After yu have been picked up by a team, yu will be required t register nline with USA Hckey.

6 USA Hckey USA Hckey has initiated an nline registratin prcess fr players. As a part f this prcess every SSHL player is required t g nline t register with USA Hckey. Any player nt registered with USA Hckey can t participate in the league. There is an additinal fee that must be paid directly t USA Hckey at the time yu register. All players, including crdinatrs, subs, galies, and each player n the rster, regardless f whether the team is paying individually r a team fee t cmpete in the league, must register nline with USA Hckey fr the seasn. Yu re USAH insurance will be valid thrugh the summer seasn but will expire after yur final summer league game. Yu can register and review the benefits f yur USAH membership n-line at: Rules It is each player s respnsibility t knw the rules. We will pst a cpy f the SSHL Rules and Regulatins n ur website All SSHL Leagues at all Dr Pepper StarCenters will fllw the same rules. Game Frmat (excludes D2) 5-minute warm up Each perid will be fifteen (15) minutes in length Run time ccurs when: 6 gal r larger lead in the 3 rd perid 15 ttal penalties ccur during the game regardless f perid N game shall end in a tie. If a game is tied at the end f regulatin then a five n five, 5-minute running clck, sudden death OT will be played. If the game remains tied at the end f OT then a 3-man shtut will determine the winner. If the game remains tied after each team has had 3 shts then the shtut will revert t sudden death with each team having an equal number f shts. N player wh was serving a penalty at the end f vertime may participate in the shtut. In any ne shtut all players, except galtenders, must sht nce befre a player shts fr a secnd time.
