1 Listed below are the modifications for Future Stars in accordance with new guidelines that U.S. Youth Soccer has recommended for the youth game. Future Stars Maximum 4 Players Per Team on the Field (4v4) Size 3 Ball Starting at the Schedule Game Time: 20 Minute Practice; Four 8 Minute Periods, 3 Minute Break in Between Each Period No Goalkeepers this is consistent with the new USSF/NJYS small sided guidelines No Throw Ins this is consistent with the new USSF/NJYS guidelines. If the ball goes out of play along the touchline (sideline), there will be a kick in for the opposing team. The ball should be placed on or behind the line. All opponents should be 10 feet away from the kick in. There will still be corner kicks and goal kicks. There are no penalty kicks All fouls are indirect the ball must touch another player before going into the net for a goal to be scored. Players are not permitted to head the ball. No Referees. Please start and end your games on time. You are responsible for keeping your own time, calling fouls and out of bounds decisions. Remember the goal is for the players to have fun! Sneakers are okay for this division.

Instructional Maximum 6 Players Per Team on the Field (6v6 Including the Goalkeeper) Size 3 Ball Three 15 Minute Periods 3 Minute Breaks In Between Each Period No offside but goal hanging is discouraged and must be addressed by the coach USSF Referees will manage the game, call fouls and ball in and out of play There are no penalty kicks All fouls are indirect the ball must touch another player before going into the net for a goal to be scored. There will be corner kicks and goal kicks Throw ins a player will be allowed two attempts to throw the ball in correctly Field player substitutions may happen at any time without the referee's permission. The game should not be stopped for substitutions unless it is the goalkeeper. Issues with the officiating are to be addressed with the Director of Referees or any available Howell Soccer Club Board Member, NOT the referee themselves! Players may not head the ball. This is now a foul and a free kick for the opposing team. Coach Dismissals will be reported by the referee to the league. The individual may face
