1 CO-ED SOCCER RULES GENERAL WAIVER OF LIABILITY All participants must agree to the waiver of liability. The waiver can be accepted on each participant player s dashboard. A waiver must be signed for each league that is participated in. All participants in the league assume the risk of injury. The PSL, its volunteers, and employees shall not be liable for injury to person, loss or damage to personal property arising from or in any way resulting from participation in the league. SPORTSMANSHIP Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. Any behavior that is deemed violent, harassing, and/or inappropriate in any way, as witnessed by the umpire, referee, or PUMP/PSL staff, will result in the actions outlined in our Sportsmanship Policy. o A player who is ejected from a game must leave the premises immediately. Play will not resume until the ejected player has left. Officials reserve the right to end a game or call a timeout at any point if the overall sportsmanship is out of line. Captains are to be the team liaison to discuss any call or rule with an official during game play. TEAMS SUBMITTING A ROSTER Each team must submit a roster with a minimum of seven (7) and maximum of fifteen (15) players. No player may register for more than one (1) team within the same league. Rosters must be submitted and a waiver form must be signed before any player may take the field. Rosters must be finalized and no changes are allowed after the 2nd week of play. No player who is not on your roster and signed a waiver form may play in the league. Only rostered players will be eligible for playoffs. PLAYERS A team consists of six (6) players (two (2) females minimum) o A team can consist of all females but not all men o Female keepers do not count as on the field. Games will be played six (6) on six (6), plus goalies. A team can start play with a minimum of six (6) players (one (1) female minimum) A team may pick up a maximum of two (2) players from another PSL team in the league to avoid forfeit. o If a rostered player arrives late, they must be immediately inserted into lineup for the substitute players. o You cannot pick up substitute players for playoffs.

2 GAME SCHEDULE START TIME All games will start at their scheduled time. If a team does not have enough players to start the game by ten (10) minutes after the scheduled start time, they will forfeit. If enough players to start the game arrive between ten (10) and fifteen (15) minutes after the scheduled start time, the game will be officiated and played as a scrimmage but will still be recorded as a forfeit. Once fifteen (15) minutes after the scheduled start time has passed, the game is still recorded as a forfeit and the teams are allowed to use the remaining time to practice or organize a pickup game. Officials are not required to stay and officiate. Teams forfeiting two (2) or more times during the regular season will be ineligible for playoffs. GAME LENGTH Regulation games consist of two twenty-five (25) minute halves with a two (2) minute half time. There is a running clock with no added time at the end of the half. OVERTIME Regulation games can end in a tie during the regular season. Playoff games that end in a tie will go to a three (3) minute Golden Goal overtime period. o If the teams are still tied, a second three (3) minute Golden Goal overtime period will be played. o If teams are still tied after two (2) Golden Goal overtime periods, there will be a five (5) person shootout. o Teams must choose at least two (2) females from each team and no more than 3 men. The order of kickers will be male-female-male-female-male. o If a team only has two (2) female players on the team, they will continue to alternate kicking through the remainder of the shootout. Playoffs & Seeding The top four teams based on the following point system will advance to the playoffs. Teams receive 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie and 0 points for a loss. To determine a team s rank in the regular season standings, teams will be seeded in the following manner: Winning Percentage- based on total games (not matches) Tie breakers in order: Head-to-Head record Goal differential (total goals scored in the season total goals given up in the season) Least number of forfeits. Least Goals Allowed Coin Toss.

3 RULES SPITTING ON THE FIELD IS NOT PERMITTED, VIOLATION WILL RESULT IN A TWO (2) MINUTE PENALTY EQUIPMENT Soccer cleats or flats are permitted. NO FOOTBALL CLEATS ARE PERMITTED (I.E. HAVING A FRONT SPIKE) All players must wear shin-guards. Mouth guards are recommended, but are not required. Goalies may use their own gloves. PLAYING RULES Games will begin with a kickoff at the center circle. The ball may be kicked forward or backwards. The defending team must stand outside the circle, no closer than six (6) feet to the ball. Kickoffs are used at the beginning of the game, the beginning of the half, and after any goal scored. If the ball leaves the field of play over the goal line or the touchline play will restart in accordance to FIFA Laws. If the ball hits the ceiling the restart will be an indirect kick directly under the spot where the ball hit. All restarts are to be taken within six (6) seconds of possession, any intentional delay to restart the game will result in loss of possession (i.e. throw-ins will change possession, indirect kicks will change possession, goal kicks will result in an indirect free kick from the penalty spot and corner kicks will result in an indirect free kick from the corner arc) All standard soccer laws will be enforced in accordance to FIFA laws. All fouls and restarts will be restarted with an INIDIRECT KICK. EXCEPTION: Any foul committed inside the goalkeeper arc, which are deemed to be direct kicks, which will result in a penalty kick. Penalty kicks will be taken an additional three (3) yards from the top of the penalty arc. Defensive players must be five (5) yards away from the top of the goalkeeper s arc on all goal-kicks and are not permitted to challenge the kick. Defensive players must be five (5) yards away from corner kicks. Defensive players must be five (5) yards away from goal kicks. Defensive players must be three (3) yards away from the touchline on all opponents throw-ins. Goalkeepers are not permitted to cross the center line. An infraction will result in an indirect free kick from the center circle. Goalkeepers are not permitted to punt or drop-kick the ball. An infraction will result in an indirect free kick from the center circle. Slide tackling is not permitted. Violation of this rule will result in an indirect free kick from the spot of the foul. (Any slide tackle deemed careless or reckless will result in a two (2) minute penalty. Any slide tackle deemed excessive will result in a five (5) minute penalty and ejection from the game.) o This excludes the goalkeeper inside their own box. o Players are permitted to slide to shoot the ball as long as they do it in a safe manner. o Players are permitted slide to save the ball from going out of bounds as long as they do it in a safe manner. Offsides rule will apply.

4 SUBSTITUTIONS Substitutions can be made on the fly. Substitutions must be made on the player s side of the field (i.e. players cannot leave the field of play on the opposite side or goal line) If either player involved in the substitution touches the ball before entering or exiting the field of play, there will be a two (2) minute penalty for too many players on the field Goalkeeper substitutions are only permitted during the substituting team s restart and must be completed before play is permitted to restart (i.e. players cannot change goalkeepers on the fly) SPORTSMANSHIP RULE If a team goes up by seven (7) goals, that team will take a male player off the field until the goal differential is back to a five (5) goal differential. YELLOW CARDS FOULS AND MISCONDUCT Fouls deemed to be worthy of a yellow card will result in the offending player being given a two (2) minute penalty. The team will play short for those two (2) minutes unless the opposing team scores, at which point the team may add the offending player (or any other substitute) to the game. EXCEPTION: If the goalkeeper is given a yellow card a male player from the offending team will be designated to serve the two (2) minute penalty in his place. CLARIFICATION: If a female player receives a yellow card, that team will play one female short (i.e. they don t have to add a female and take off a male player). ADDITION: ANY PLAYER ENGAGING IN CONTACT THAT IS DEEMED UNNECESSARY GOING TOWARDS THE END OR SIDE WALLS WILL BE GIVEN A TWO (2) MINUTE PENALTY. RED CARDS Any serious foul play or violent conduct will be given a red card and assessed a five (5) minute penalty. Red card offenses require the offending team to play down one player for the entire duration of the five (5) minutes, regardless if the opposing teams scores. Players receiving a red card must leave the game and may not return. Further sanctions (player suspensions) may be applied, depending on the nature of the foul. ADDITION: ANY PLAYER ENGAGING IN CONTACT THAT IS DEEMED DANGEROUS GOING TOWARDS THE END OR SIDE WALL WILL BE GIVEN A FIVE (5) MINUTE PENALYT AND EJECTED FROM THE GAME.

5 SOFT RED CARDS (TWO YELLOW CARDS) Players receiving two (2) yellow cards in one game will be eject from the game and require the offending team to play down one player for five (5) minutes, regardless if the opposing team scores. However, unlike a straight red card, the offending player will not be subjected to a suspension. SUSPENSIONS Red cards for serious foul play will result in a one (1) game suspension for the offending player. Red cards for violent conduct will result in a three (3) game suspension for the offending player. If the violent conduct includes fighting, the suspension will be five (5) games.
