City Quarters and Semis: Wexford Hydro Fields and Astonbee Park June 11, 2013 ( rain date June 12, 2013) Boys play in the upper fields, and girls will play in the lower fields ****City Finals: Girls Friday June 14, 2013 Boys Friday June 14, 2013 Location : Birchmount Stadium OFFICIALS: Each site convenor is to meet with the referees prior to the start of the tournament to review the rules and the expectations of the day. The convenors will be doing the best they can to get local high school students to referee the divisional games. In the event a referee does not show up we would ask that all coaches bring a stopwatch and a whistle in order to referee a game. Carded referee officials will referee the Regional and City Games. We ask for your support and cooperation with the referees especially at the divisional levels. RULES 1 Remember: Goalkeeper has 6 seconds to pass the ball and is no longer restricted to 4 steps. 2 All rules will be official F.I.F.A. rules, except as listed below. Rules can be found at: 3 Divisional and regional games will be 40 minutes (2 X 20), while city level games will be 60 minutes (2 X 30). 4 Substitution is limited in that they may be made only with the permission of the referee when the ball is out of play. 5 A #5 leather ball shall be used. Each team shall bring one such leather ball to its games and their own practice balls. 6 Any student ejected from a game will also miss his/her next game. A second expulsion will render a student ineligible to participate in any further games for the remainder of the playing season (2013).

2 7 Teams are to wear school sweaters. A set of pinnies should be brought in case there is a similarity of colours. Track pants are at the discretion of the referee during inclement weather. Reminder that goalies are to wear a distinctive shirt from the rest of the team. 8 Ties in the round robin section of the tournament, will remain unless a decision is necessary. In the event that a tie must be broken, the following procedure will be followed: a) no over time session b) penalty kicks- five per team. If still tied, there will be alternating penalty kicks, by players not already having shot, until a winner is determined. 9 Ties in Round Robin at divisional tournaments for seeding will be broken in the following manner: a) total points b) if two teams tie the result between the two teams c) if result between the two tied teams was still a tie or if three or more teams are tied: d) total goal differential (goals for minus goals against, all games included) e) total goals for, all games included f) finally - rule # 8 10 All championship games in divisional tournament must be played until a winner is produced. Tied games will be broken by penalty kicks see rule #8 11 Ties in regional games will be resolved by a) 1 ten minute sudden death overtime period (5 minute halves) b) 5 penalty kicks c) sudden death 1 on 1 penalty kicks 12 Shin guards are mandatory at all levels of play (divisional, regional and city). 13 Awards: One champion pennant, 15 champion ribbons and 15 ribbons. 14 Recommended number of players is 18 per team. 15 Three points for a win, one point for a tie and no points for a loss 16 To promote fair play during matches that are one sided no team shall win with more than a five goal differential. Therefore a team could win a game 7 0 but will only be awarded a five goal margin of victory if goal differential is required for a tie breaker. If a coach is involved in a one sided game she/he is encouraged to play all members of their team. 17 If there are six team pools then the teams will be placed into two three team pools at the same site. Teams will play in their own division to find a winner and then the two winning teams will play for the pennant and the right to move on to the next round. Games will be played in alternate pools in order to give teams a rest between games until the championship game. 18 **NOTICE** When there are five team pools and we are unable to use two fields then the five team modified format will be used. Please review tie breaking procedures for divisional ties, as you will not play a full round robin in this format. Each team will play two games then the top two teams play a championship game to determine the winner of the pool. Rule 16 will be enforced so know your tie breaking procedure. It may come down to penalty shots to determine who advances to the championship game. 19 During game play, spectators are not allowed on the team side of the field. Spectators will be asked to move before play is allowed to begin.
