The club found just that when they signed Brian Orakpo as an unrestricted free agent on March 13, The 6-foot-4-inch, 257-pounder arrived in Tennessee as a three-time Pro Bowl selection, having registered 40 career sacks and 156 quarterback pressures in six seasons ( ) with the Washington Redskins. In his first campaign with the Titans, he tied for the team lead with seven sacks, and in 2016, he earned his fourth Pro Bowl berth while leading the team with 10.5 sacks and ranking second on the squad with 49 quarterback pressures. The University of Texas product was originally drafted by the Redskins in the first round (13th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: In 2016, Orakpo was named to his fourth Pro Bowl after leading the team and tying for sixth in the AFC in sacks with He also ranked second on the team with 49 quarterback pressures. In 2015, Orakpo started all 16 games in his first season with the Titans and tied for the team lead with seven sacks. He also led the squad with 12 tackles for loss and 37 quarterback pressures. In 2013, Orakpo earned his third career Pro Bowl berth after leading the Redskins with 10 sacks. Orakpo led or tied for the team lead in sacks in each of his first three seasons with the Redskins. In 2009, Orakpo was selected to his second consecutive Pro Bowl after leading the squad with 8.5 sacks. In 2009, Orakpo earned a Pro Bowl berth and was named to the PFW/ PFWA All-Rookie Team after setting a Redskins rookie record and leading all NFL rookies with 11 sacks. TITANS TIDBITS: Orakpo annually hosts The Brian Orakpo Leukemia Golf Classic to raise money for the National Capital Area Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Orakpo is a good friend with former Titans safety Michael Griffin. The two played together for three seasons at the University of Texas and Griffin was an integral part in helping recruit Orakpo to Nashville. Started his first two career postseason games and tallied five tackles, a team-best 1.5 sacks, a team-high-tying six quarterback pressures and a stop for loss. Became the first Titans player since Jevon Kearse ( ) to record at least seven sacks in three consecutive seasons. Led or tied for the team lead in quarterback pressures eight times in 2017 (at JAX, vs. SEA, at MIA, at CLE, vs. CIN, at PIT, vs. HOU, vs. JAX). Against Seattle (9/24), started at outside linebacker and notched two tackles, a stop for loss, a team-best 10 quarterback pressures and a pass defensed. Stonewallled Chris Carson for no gain on a rush off right guard in the first quarter. Batted down a pass intended for Paul Richardson in the opening quarter. At Houston (10/1), started at outside linebacker and tallied five tackles and four quarterback pressures. At Miami (10/8), started at outside linebacker and totaled three tackles, including a stop for loss and four quarterback pressures. Stuffed Jay Ajayi for no gain on a rush off left end late in the fourth quarter. Against Indianapolis (10/16), started at outside linebacker and recorded two tackles and a quarterback pressure. At Cleveland (10/22), started at outside linebacker and posted six tackles, including a half sack, a stop for loss and a team-best seven quarterback pressures. Ended a Browns drive by stuffing Isaiah Crowell for no gain on a third-and-one rush off left guard in the first quarter. Ended a Browns drive in overtime by combining with Derrick Moragn to sack Cody Kessler for a 12-yard loss on third-and-eight. Against Baltimore (11/5), started at outside linebacker and collected five tackles, including a stop for loss and two quarterback pressures. Teamed with Wesley Woodyard to stuff Alex Collins for a one-yard loss on a rush off left tackle in the second quarter. Against Cincinnati (11/12), started at outside linebacker and recorded two tackles, including a sack, a forced fumble, a stop for loss and a team-high six quarterback pressures. Notched his 60th career sack and halted a Bengals drive by coming off the edge and strip-sacking Andy Dalton with the loose ball being recovered by Derrick Morgan on third-and-11 in the second quarter. At Pittsburgh (11/16), started at outside linebacker and notched three tackles, including a stop for loss and a team-best five quarterback pressures. Combined with Johnathan Cyprien to stop James Conner for no gain on a carry up the middle in the first stanza. At Indianapolis (11/26), started at outside linebacker and registered five tackles, 1.5 sacks and four quarterback pressures. Combined with Derrick Morgan to sack Jacoby Brissett for an eight-yard loss in the second quarter. Ended a Colts drive by sacking Brissett for a nine-yard loss on third-andthree in the third quarter. Against Houston (12/3), started at outside linebacker and produced five tackles, including a sack and a team-best eight quarterback pressures. Halted a Texans drive by teaming with DaQuan Jones to sack Tom Savage for a eight-yard loss on third-and-10 late in the second quarter. Ended the game by combining with Derrick Morgan to sack Tom Savage for a 19-yard loss. At Kansas City (1/6), started at outside linebacker and recorded three tackles, including a team-high 1.5 sacks, three quarterback pressures and a stop for loss in his first career postseason game. Teamed with Wesley Woodyard to drop Alex Smith for an eight-yard sack in the second quarter. Dropped Smith for a sack during the Chiefs final drive in the fourth quarter. At New England (1/13), started at outside linebacker and registered two tackles and three quarterback pressures. Combined with Sylvester Williams to stuff Jacob Hollister for no gain on a short pass in the fourth quarter (16/16 - Tennessee): Named to the Pro Bowl. Started all 16 games at outside linebacker and led the team and tied for sixth in the AFC with 10.5 sacks. Ranked second on the team with 49 quarterback pressures. At Detroit (9/18), started at outside linebacker and posted five tackles, including two sacks, a team-high four quarterback pressures and two stops for loss. Dropped Matthew Stafford for a one-yard sack early in the third quarter. Came off the edge and sacked Stafford for a nine-yard loss during the Lions final drive in the fourth quarter. Against Oakland (9/25), started at outside linebacker and tallied two tackles, including a sack and a team-best three quarterback pressures. Ended a Raiders drive by dropping Derek Carr for a four-yard sack on third-and-nine late in the third quarter. At Houston (10/2), started at outside linebacker and recorded four tackles, a sack, four quarterback pressures and a pass defensed. Combined with Al Woods to stop Lamar Miller for no gain on a rush off left tackle in the first quarter. Sacked Brock Osweiler for a 10-yard loss in the first quarter. Broke up a pass intended for DeAndre Hopkins in the second quarter. At Miami (10/9), started at outside linebacker and tied a career-high with eight tackles, including two sacks, three quarterback pressures and a stop for loss. Became the third player in franchise history to record six or more sacks in the first five games of a season since individual sacks became an official statistic in Stuffed Dominique Jones for a one-yard loss on a short pass in the left flat in the third quarter. Dropped Ryan Tannehill for a nine-yard sack midway through the fourth quarter. Two plays later, sacked Tannehill for a 10-yard loss on third-and-10. Against Cleveland (10/16), started at outside linebacker and notched four tackles, including a sack and three quarterback pressures. Dropped Cody Kessler for a nine-yard sack midway through the third quarter. The play gave Orakpo five consecutive games with at least one sack, marking the eighth time in franchise history a player accomplished the feat. Against Green Bay (11/13), started at outside linebacker and notched four tackles, including a team-best two sacks and tied for the club lead with four quarterback pressures. Sacked Aaron Rodgers for an 11-yard loss late in the third quarter. Registered his second sack of the afternoon by dropping Rodgers for an eight-yard loss late in the fourth quarter. At Indianapolis (11/20), started at outside linebacker and recorded five tackles, five quarterback pressures and a pass defensed. Batted down a screen pass intended for Jordan Todman in the second quarter. Against Denver (12/11), started at outside linebacker in his 100th career NFL game and collected four tackles, a sack and a team-high six quarterback pressures. Dropped Trevor Siemian for a five-yard sack late in the third quarter. At Kansas City (12/18), started at outside linebacker and tallied five tackles, a half sack, four quarterback pressures and a pass defensed. Ended a Chiefs drive by batting down a third-and-nine pass intended for Jeremy Maclin late in the first quarter. Teamed with DaQuan Jones to drop Alex Smith for a four-yard sack in the third quarter. Against Houston (1/1), started at outside linebacker and registered a tackle for loss, three quarterback pressures and a team-best two passes defensed. Batted down a pass intended for Will Fuller on third-and-eight late in the third quarter. Sealed the victory by batting down a fourth-down pass intended for Will Fuller late in the fourth quarter (16/16 - Tennessee): Started all 16 games at outside linebacker in his first season with the Titans and tied for the team lead with seven sacks. Led the squad with 12 tackles for loss and 37 quarterback pressures. Registered 64 tackles, five passes defensed, a forced fumble and a blocked field goal. With his sack at Jacksonville (11/19/15), tied a career high with his fourth consecutive game with at least one sack. Led or tied for the team lead in sacks five times in 2015 (vs. MIA, at HOU, at NO, vs. CAR, at JAX). At Tampa Bay (9/13), started at outside linebacker in his Titans debut and led the team with four quarterback pressures. Collected a tackle. Against Indianapolis (9/27), started at outside linebacker and totaled a sack, a tackle for loss and a quarterback pressure. Halted a Colts drive and registered his first sack with the Titans by dropping Andrew Luck for a six-yard loss on third-and-three in the second quarter. Against Miami (10/18), started at outside linebacker and tallied five tackles, including a sack, a stop for loss and a quarterback pressure. Ended a Dolphins drive by sacking Ryan Tannehill for a two-yard loss on third-and-eight late in the third quarter. Against Atlanta (10/25), started at outside linebacker and amassed five tackles and three quarterback pressures. At Houston (11/1), started at outside linebacker and registered three tackles, including a sack, two tackles for loss, three quarterback pressures and a pass defensed. Against Carolina (11/15), started at outside linebacker and tallied six tackles, including a sack, a stop for loss and a quarterback pressure. Teamed with Daimion Stafford to stuff Greg Olsen for a six-yard loss on a short pass in the second quarter. Ended a Panthers drive by sacking Cam Newton for a six-yard loss on third-and-18 early in the third quarter. At Jacksonville (11/19), started at outside linebacker and collected four tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, a team-best four quarterback pressures, a stop for loss and a pass defensed. Knocked down a pass intended for Julius Thomas on the Jaguars first play from scrimmage. Forced a Blake Bortles fumble on a third-and-one rush that was recovered by David Bass at the Titans 45-yard line in the second stanza. Made the Jaguars attempt a field goal by sacking Bortles for a nine-yard loss on third-and-three in the second quarter. With his sack, he tied a career high with his fourth consecutive game with at least one sack. At Indianapolis (1/3), started at outside linebacker and recorded four tackles with a team-high five quarterback pressures and a stop for loss. Stuffed Frank Gore for a one-yard loss on a rush up the middle in the first quarter. Teamed with Coty Sensabaugh to stuff Trey Williams for no gain on a rush off right end in the fourth quarter (7/7 - Washington): Started seven games and made 28 tackles, a half sack, nine quarterback pressures, a tackle for loss and a pass defensed prior to being placed on injured reserve on Oct. 21, Against Seattle (10/6), tied a career high with eight tackles (15/15 - Washington): Started 15 games one season removed from injury, earning his third career Pro Bowl berth after leading the team with 10.0 sacks. Also added the first interception and first touchdown of his career. Was inactive for one game. At Green Bay (9/15), registered five tackles with one sack, pushing him past the 30-sack milestone for his career. At Oakland (9/29), posted four tackles, two passes defensed and two sacks. Against Chicago (10/20), collected four tackles and added the first interception of his career, which he returned 29 yards for his first career touchdown. The pick was the first of his life at any level. At Denver (10/27), recovered a Peyton Manning fumble to set up a

3 Redskins touchdown. At Philadelphia (11/17), posted five tackles, including 1.5 sacks. Against N.Y. Giants (12/1), notched six tackles and two sacks. At Atlanta (12/15), tallied a team-high eight tackles, including 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery (2/2 - Washington): Started two games before suffering a seasonending injury to his pectoral. Posted eight tackles, including a sack, three quarterback pressures, a tackle for loss, a forced fumble and three passes defensed. Placed on injured reserve on Sept. 18, At New Orleans (9/9), produced two solo tackles and three passes defensed in a season-opening win. At St. Louis (9/16), registered three tackles and a strip-sack before leaving the game with an injury (16/16 - Washington): Started all 16 games and notched nine sacks, which led the team for the third consecutive season. Finished with 66 tackles, 35 quarterback pressures, seven tackles for loss, five passes defensed and three forced fumbles. Against Arizona (9/18), finished with one solo tackle, one sack and a forced fumble. At St. Louis (10/2), earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors after recording five tackles, 2.5 sacks and one forced fumble. At Carolina (10/23), recorded seven tackles and one sack. Against San Francisco (11/6), posted five tackles and one sack. At Seattle (11/27), notched four tackles, one sack and one pass defensed. At N.Y. Giants (12/18), tallied two tackles, one sack and one pass defensed (15/15 - Washington): Started 15 games in his second campaign and amassed 78 tackles, a team-best 8.5 sacks, 47 quarterback pressures, nine tackles for loss and one forced fumble. Named to his second Pro Bowl. Was inactive for one contest. Against Dallas (9/12), recorded two tackles, as well as three quarterback pressures. Forced a holding penalty which negated what would have been the game tying touchdown with time expiring in the fourth quarter. Against Houston (9/19), totaled six tackles and a sack. His sack of quarterback Matt Schaub marked the 12th of his career. At St. Louis (9/26), had seven tackles and one sack. Against Green Bay (10/10), collected five tackles and two sacks. Against Indianapolis (10/17), totaled three tackles, one sack, four quarterback pressures and one forced fumble. At Chicago (10/24), registered six tackles, two sacks and three quarterback pressures. It marked the third consecutive game in which he recorded a sack, the first time in his career he accomplished the feat. Against Philadelphia (11/15), posted nine tackles and half a sack. Against Minnesota (11/28), amassed six tackles and one sack. Posted 132 career tackles, 22 sacks (tied for 10th on Texas all-time list), 38 tackles for a loss, 62 pressures, six passes defensed, six forced fumbles and one fumble recovery during his career. As a senior (2008), posted 42 tackles and led the team with 11.5 sacks (sixth in NCAA), 19 tackles for loss (tied for seventh NCAA), 30 pressures and four forced fumbles (tied-12th NCAA). As a junior (2007), appeared in nine games, starting eight, and tallied 37 tackles, nine tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, 12 pressures, two passes defensed and a forced fumble. As a sophomore (2006), played in all 13 games, recording 26 tackles, six tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and two passes defensed. As a redshirt freshman (2005), was named Defensive Freshman of the Year and first-team Freshman All-America by The Sporting News. Earned Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year from the league s coaches and The Sporting News after recording 27 tackles and four tackles for loss. Graduated from Texas with a degree in youth and community studies in December PERSONAL: Married to Bitura, and the couple has one son, Brian Jr., one daughter, Brianna, and another baby on the way due in Nov Played for Lamar (Texas) High School and was a three-year letterman and starter at defensive end as a sophomore, junior and senior. Was a two-time first-team all-district selection and was part of a Lamar squad that posted at least nine victories all three years (29-8 record). Posted 36 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and nine sacks and was tabbed second-team All-Greater Houston and first-team all-district 18-5A as a junior and senior. Also played high school basketball during his freshman through junior years. Was a member of University of Texas Athletic Director s Honor Roll (Spring 2008) and was a prep honor roll student who posted better than a 3.0 GPA. Has a brother, Michael, who played collegiately at Colorado State and Texas State, and a sister, Jennifer. Named to the Pro Bowl and finished fourth in balloting for the Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year award. Set a Redskins rookie record for sacks (11), surpassing the previous high of six shared by Dean Hamel (1985) and Andre Collins (1990). Led all NFL rookies, finished tied for fourth in the NFC and tied for seventh in the NFL with 11 sacks. Became the first Redskins rookie to have at least a half-sack in four straight games. Against Detroit (9/27), recorded his first career sack. At Atlanta (11/8), posted two sacks, marking the first multi-sack game of his career. At Oakland (12/23), tied a Redskins record with a career-high four sacks and became the first NFL rookie to record four sacks in a game since Cornelius Bennett on Dec. 27, COLLEGE: Won the Nagurski Trophy (nation s top defensive player), Lombardi Award (nation s top lineman), Hendricks Award (nation s top defensive end) and was a finalist for the Lott Trophy (defensive IMPACT player of the year) in Was a unanimous first-team All-America selection by the American Football Coaches Association, Associated Press, Football Writers Association of America, Sporting News and Walter Camp Football Foundation.
