FC Peoria Financial Policy All fees are due when indicated on the fee schedules. Non-Payment or Late Payments Reminders will be sent before each payment due date. If any family is experiencing difficulty in meeting the payment please contact the FC Peoria Treasurer at as soon as possible. Any family whose account is not in good standing will have their player card withheld and will not be allowed to participate in any practices, skills training, tournaments and games until the outstanding amount has been paid. Families with overdue accounts will not be allowed to register for any nontravel programs. Scholarships Scholarships are available to families that qualify. As a general rule, FC Peoria uses the USDA National School Lunch Program Income Eligibility when determining scholarship eligibility. Applicants should complete the scholarship application form and submit it along with the following information; Copy of the first 2 pages of the most recent IRS tax return The last paycheck stub All documentation must be submitted to the FC Peoria Treasurer by June 30 th. Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Board of Directors and all decisions are final. All personal details will be kept strictly confidential to the Treasurer, Executive Board and the Volunteer coordinator. Any family on scholarship are still required to pay a $100 commitment fee. This secures their place on the team. The remaining travel fees are removed. Scholarships do not include any other costs beyond travel fees such as optional training, camps, uniforms, etc. Any family on scholarship is required to volunteer an additional 15 hours for the year. These hours are in addition to the regular volunteer hours required of all families (see Volunteer Policy for more information). Failure to volunteer will result in the removing of the scholarship and may result in the player being ineligible to practice or play. FC Peoria Player Registration Packet 4
FC Peoria Volunteer Policy Volunteerism is the foundation of all youth organizations. From the Board of Directors all the way through to the parents, the sharing of time and resources ensures success Travel Team Volunteering Requirement - 2 hours in the fall and 2 hours in the spring per family. Each family is required to volunteer throughout the year to help in the successful running of the club. Areas include; bathrooms, indoor facilities, winter concessions and outdoor crew, as well opportunities to help with running and planning events. You will be invited to sign-up for one of these areas when you register your player(s) on the FC Peoria web site. Any family that does not sign up for a specific area during registration will be assigned where needed. Consequences of not fulfilling the required commitments will be a $150 fee added to your account per family per season, unless otherwise approved by board of directors due to extenuating circumstances. Failure to pay the fee will result in your child/children not being allowed to attend practice, participate in games, or attend tryouts until it has been paid. Tournament Volunteering Requirement - 2 hours per child, up to a maximum of 4 hours. FC Peoria will host a fall and spring soccer tournament each year; the success of these events is dependent upon volunteers. In order to share the duties and keep workload to a manageable level, FC Peoria will require each family to work a minimum number of hours per tournament. Duties will be assigned by team and each family will be required to sign up according to their team(s). Those families that have three or more children playing at the club will be notified of which duties they are exempt from. It would be our intention that each family volunteer during time slots when their children are not playing. Consequences of not fulfilling the required commitments will be a $100 fee per assigned volunteer duty. Failure to pay the fee will result in your child/children not being allowed to attend practice, participate in games, or attend tryouts until it has been paid. Families not attending the tournament will not be required to volunteer. All Volunteer hours are scheduled and tracked using SignUpGenius.com. Please be sure to sign up for all hours that you complete so that you get credit for the work that you do. All volunteers must check-in at the front desk. Please contact the office as soon as possible if, for any reason, you are unable to fulfill your hours. FC Peoria Player Registration Packet 5
FC Peoria Code of Conduct Policy Rules for the FC Peoria Fields Smoking is NOT PERMITTED. Alcohol is NOT PERMITTED. Pets are PERMITTED, but pets must be on a leash, waste picked up and pets must not interfere with game action or spectator enjoyment. The pet owner is responsible for the actions of the pet. Pets are NOT PERMITTED during home tournaments. Please drive slowly and carefully. Children should not be left UNATTENDED. Policy Enforcement. The Board of Directors reserves the right to take appropriate action to enforce this policy, including the levy of fines, suspensions or dismissals. As noted in the policy, coaches are asked to assume responsibility for enforcement of the code of conduct at games and training sessions. Code of Conduct for Spectators Parents and players are responsible for the conduct of their guests. All spectators at practices or games for FC Peoria must adhere to the following Code of Conduct. As a spectator of FC Peoria, I agree to: Remember that young people participate for their enjoyment and benefit, not mine. Applaud good performance and efforts from all individuals and teams. Congratulate all participants on their performance regardless of the game's outcome. Respect the decisions of officials and teach players to do the same. Never ridicule or scold a player for making a mistake. Positive comments are motivational. Condemn the use of violence in any form, whether it is by spectators, coaches, officials or players. Refrain from coaching from the sidelines. Leave coaching to the coaches. Show respect for your team's opponents. Encourage players to follow the rules and the decisions of officials. Not use foul language or harass players, coaches or officials. Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion. Respect the referees. Demand a sports environment for the children free from drugs, tobacco and alcohol. FC Peoria Player Registration Packet 6
Code of Conduct for Parents As a parent of a player at the FC Peoria Association, I agree to: Be my child s best fan! Support my child unconditionally and make him/her feel like a winner! Remember that children participate in sport for their enjoyment, not mine. Encourage children to participate, do not force them. Focus on the child's efforts and performance rather than winning or losing. Encourage children always to play according to the rules and to settle disagreements without resorting to hostility or violence. Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake. Remember that children learn best by example. Appreciate good performances and skillful plays by all participants. Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from all soccer activities. Respect the decisions of officials and teach children to do likewise. Learn the rules of the game and the policies of the organization and the FC Peoria Fields. Show appreciation and respect for coaches, officials and administrators. Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion. Be kind to my child's coach, other volunteers including board members and concession workers and to the officials. The coaches, board members and concession workers invest their personal time to provide a recreational activity for my child. They are providing a valuable community service, often without reward other than their personal satisfaction. Show respect to the referees. I will refrain from speaking to officials, unless it is to say thank you after the game. If I have questions or concerns with the referees, I will speak to the coach after the game or at practice. Refrain from coaching from the sidelines. Leave coaching to the coaches. Understand that my attitude can influence the players, coaches and spectators. Demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco and alcohol. Be sure my child is available for practices and games. Practices are as important as games. Children who simply don t show up for practice and/or games are letting everybody down. If I know my child is unable to attend a practice or game, I will give the coach reasonable advance notice to enable proper planning. Report to the coach all injuries, special medical conditions (such as asthma) or extenuating circumstances (such as lack of sleep or family crisis) that may affect the player. Send my child ready to play. My child will be dressed in uniform and will arrive on time. On transporting my child home, be supportive and always focus on the positive aspects of the game. Encourage my child to speak with the coach. If my child is having difficulties in training or games, I will encourage my child to speak directly to the coaches, understanding that taking responsibility is a big part of growing into a mature person. FC Peoria Player Registration Packet 7
Code of Conduct for Coaches Coaches are responsible for the conduct of their players and the spectators on their side of the field, specifically as it relates to the referee, coaches, players and spectators on the other team. Verbal and/or physical abuse will not be tolerated. All persons coaching a team or teams for FC Peoria must adhere to the following Code of Conduct. As a coach with FC Peoria, I agree to: Be reasonable in my demands on players' time, energy and enthusiasm. Operate within the rules and spirit of the game and teach my players to do the same. Ensure that the time players spend with me is a positive experience. All players are deserving of equal attention and opportunities. Ensure that equipment and facilities meet safety standards and are appropriate to the age, maturity and ability of all players. Display control, respect and professionalism to all involved with soccer. This includes, but is not limited to, opponents, coaches, officials, administrators, the media, parents and spectators. I will encourage my players to do the same. Show concern and caution toward sick and injured players. Follow the advice of a physician when determining whether an injured player is ready to practice or play. Keep up to date with the latest coaching practices and the principles of growth and development of young players. Understand that any physical contact with a player should be appropriate to soccer situations and necessary for the player's development. Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion. Believe that my role as a coach is to contribute to the overall success, physical and athletic growth of the player through participation in soccer. Endeavor to be a good instructor and a positive role model for my players. Referees shall have the respect and support of the coach. Avoid public criticism of officials. Understand that my attitude can influence the players, coaches and spectators. Demand a sports environment for the children free from drugs, tobacco and alcohol. Before games, opposing coaches should meet and exchange greetings to set the proper tone for the game. After games, the teams and coaches should meet and congratulate each other in a sportsmanlike manner. Be primarily responsible for communications within their team. Make sure to set expectations at the beginning of the season, and, preferably document these expectations in writing. Endeavor to generate written player evaluations at the end of each season, including recommendations for improvement and emphasis on positive aspects of the player s performance. Assume responsibility for enforcement of the code of conduct at games and training sessions. FC Peoria Player Registration Packet 8
Code of Conduct for Players As a player for FC Peoria, I agree to: Play by the rules. Never argue with a referee or assistant referee. If I disagree, I will speak with my coach. Control my temper and maintain control over my emotions. I will avoid bad/negative comments and/or gestures, and I know that purposely distracting or annoying an opponent is not allowed behavior in soccer. Work equally hard for myself and my team. My team's performance will benefit, so will I. Be a good sport; applaud good plays whether they are made by my team or the opposition. Treat all participants in soccer as I like to be treated. I will not bully or take unfair advantage of a competitor. Cooperate with my coach, teammates and opponents. Participate for my own enjoyment and benefit, not just to please parents and coaches. Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion. Respect referees. Understand that my attitude can influence the players, coaches and spectators. Remember that practices are just as important as games and my attendance helps my team. I will notify my coach if I must miss a practice or a game. Not use drugs, tobacco and alcohol. Play for the fun of soccer! FC Peoria Player Registration Packet 9
