And I'm HANNAH MACKENZIE. Today is October 30th... And UNLEASHED begins... NOW. [INTRO_NEWS_GIVING TREE] Good morning Wildcats. The leadership team is hosting their 3rd annual Giving Tree craft fair. The craft fair is Friday, at the Parks and Recreation building, on 5th street, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. All proceeds from the event go to the Giving Tree that will be up in the amphitheater, after Thanksgiving break. So, start your Christmas shopping early and head over to the Craft Faire, on Friday, at the Parks and Recreation Building, on 5th street. [NEWS_YEARBOOK AWARD] Last year's yearbook was just named as a Crown Finalist by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. This national yearbook award is given to less than 5 percent of all yearbooks in the country. In March, students will travel to New York City to accept the award. [NEWS_SENIOR TRIBUTE] And... seniors, it's time to turn in your senior tribute for the yearbook. Space is filling up fast, and the price goes up again on Thursday. The senior tribute is a special section for the graduating class. Order forms for are available on the WHS website or in Room C-2. To reserve your spot, you need to turn in the form, payment, photos and tribute message. [NEWS_YEARBOOK ORDER] This is also a good time to order your 2019 yearbook. The yearbook is available for preorder online at jostensyearbooks.com or with an order form in Room C-2. All students who order yearbooks before Thanksgiving are eligible for prizes and a special raffle. [NEWS_HOMEWORK] And... if you are struggling in a class, or need some extra help, visit the homework club.... Students can go to the library, after school to get help with assignments. The club meets after school, in the library, Tuesday through Friday, from 3:30 to 4:30. Teachers and student tutors are available to

provide you with extra help. There are also several Chromebooks and study materials for use, as well as a quiet place to study. [NEWS_CRIMINAL JUSTICE] The criminal justice club is meeting today, at lunch, in room E-11. At the meeting, club members are looking at some historical cases and solving a murder-mystery riddle. Again, the criminal justice club is meeting today, in room E-11. [NEWS_FALL PLAY] And... the fall play opens on Friday. This year, the theater department is performing the prequel to Peter Pan, titled, Peter and the Star Catcher. Reporter Karla Barajas is in the theater classroom with actress Carly Keely to learn more about the play and ticket sales. Karla... [NEWS_FEATURE PACKAGE] Playing Peter Pan is no small task, but for one of the actors, the role easier... because he also had to overcome a difficult childhood. Reporter Alaina Roberts and photographer Darienne Sandhu met with one of the male leads to see how he has had to rely on his family... to get him where he is today. * PLAY - 10.24_PKG_DS.AR_Fall Play Lead Outcue: Reporting for... **Set Cam 3 Word Shot with 3 anchors** **Set Cam 1 shot with Word Anchor** [NEWS_FEATURE PACKAGE_OUT] Jake was diagnosed with leukemia at 5 years old, but has been cancer free for over 5 years now. Peter and the Starcatcher runs Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this week. And Thursday, Friday and Saturday next week. Tickets are 8-dollars with an ASB card, and 12-dollars for general admission. They are only 6-dollars for Sunday's matinee, Remember, you can buy a ticket at the door or on the Whitney homepage. [INTRO TO THE WORD] Now... tomorrow is halloween and many people are taking trips to pumpkin patch. And it doesn't matter what age you are... there is nothing like walking the fields and picking out the perfect pumpkin....here's Julia Ruccione with more in your... "Word around Campus." [THE WORD]

UP FIRST, Senior Noelle Don SHARED THIS ON... INSTAGRAM WITH THE HASHTAG WHSUNLEASHED. In this picture, Noelle is at Bishop's Pumpkin Farm with a first grader in her Stars Class. Noelle says while she was there they got to pick out their perfect pumpkin and pet the animals in the petting zoo. She said she was glad she got to tag along with the class on the field trip because it was a great way to kick off the spooky season. AND THIS WEEK WE ASKED YOU to tell us about a family member you rely on, to go with our stories about how families help each other... USING THE HASHTAG WHSUNLEASHED. Junior Eva Lopes said she relies on her mom because she is her best friend and can always make her smile. In this picture you can see Eva and her mom at a restaurant together, having lunch. Eva says she enjoys the laughs and countless memories they share together. NOW, WE WENT ON TWITTER TO FIND OUT WHAT'S TRENDING and while the players celebrated on the field, the fans took to the streets. Red Sox fans flooded the area outside Fenway Park to sing "We are the Champions" after their World Series win Sunday night. The Red Sox's defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in game 5 and after the last out, the players and fans sang many songs including "All I do is win" and to rub it in the faces of Yankee fans, they also sang "New York, New York". [OUT WORD_BE RIGHT BACK] And the singing isn't over just yet... as the Red Sox players and fans will celebrate tomorrow, when the city hosts the World Series championship parade. Now, here are some opportunities you can find in the College and Career Seniors, there are two UC Application workshops coming up. The first workshop is today, during intervention, at 12:20. The second workshop is next Monday, after school. Several counselors will attend the meetings to help you login to the application website, and complete the online forms. [CAREER_NEVADA] Reno. There is a field trip coming up for all seniors who are looking to go to the University of Nevada, To go on the field trip, you must be a senior with at least a 3.0 gpa. UNR is providing a charter bus for the one day field trip, to check out the campus. The tour is scheduled for Friday, November 16th. Pick up a permission slip from Mrs. Randazzo in the career center. They are due by Friday.
