For complete video soundbytes and transcripts, please contact the Revolution communications staff at media@revolutionsoccer.net. New England Revolution Head Coach Jay Heaps On the San Jose Earthquakes: Coach Heaps: They are a good team. When you look at San Jose and you look at the pieces they ve added and the pieces that are getting better when I say getting better, I mean maturing they have some young players that have grown into the game. They are, for me, a team that is well coached. Obviously, everyone knows [San Jose Head Coach] Dominic [Kinnear] and [Assistant Coach] Steve Ralston I know extremely well, so I know they'll be ready. ----- New England Revolution Forward Juan Agudelo On the team looking to tie a club record with a seventh straight home win on Wednesday: Agudelo: We've definitely tried to make this place our fort. We don't want any team to come in here and feel comfortable. We need to make them understand that if they come in here, it's going to be a battle and you're not going to come out with any points here. That's very important for us here and [we are] very excited for home games. ----- New England Revolution Forward Kei Kamara On facing Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski on Wednesday night: Kamara: "Wondo [Chris Wondolowski] is definitely a guy that I respect a lot. I've been around him in Houston and him being in San Jose, he's really a finisher. He's a goal scorer, he's somebody that leads his team really well, and he's shown it over the years. When you have somebody like that, you really have to pay focus on him. It doesn't matter how he scores goals. He just wants to put balls in the back of the net. For us, we've been doing well. Respect the guy as he comes in, but at the same time, make him know that he's playing against a tough team." LAST 5 MATCHES (2-2-1) March 18 at FC Dallas L, 1-2 March 25 vs. Minnesota United FC W, 5-2 April 2 at Portland Timbers T, 1-1 April 8 vs. Houston Dynamo W, 2-0 April 15 at Chicago Fire L, 0-3

All donations by the Revolution will be matched by one of America SCORES Boston s corporate partners. Through two home games in 2017, the Revs have raised $700 for America SCORES Boston. The collaboration, which began in October 2016, expands player involvement with youth in America SCORES Boston s after-school program through Academy-run soccer clinics and participation in SCORES Service Learning Projects. TEAM NOTES REVS, SUPPORTERS MAKE GILLETTE STADIUM A FORTRESS Maximizing points at home is key to success in MLS, and the Revolution have been doing just that in recent years. After defeating the Houston Dynamo on April 8, the Revolution improved to 2-0-0 at home in 2017, extending their home winning streak to a MLS-leading six games. During the winning streak, which began last season on Sept. 3, 2016, the Revolution have averaged 3.0 goals per home game and posted at least three goals in four of the last five contests. This week, the Revs will look to take all six points from two home games: Wednesday, April 19 vs. San Jose and Saturday, April 22 vs. D.C. United. Throughout nearly all of Jay Heaps' coaching tenure, Gillette Stadium has provided one of the League's best home-field advantages. Since 2013, New England has totaled 39 wins at home, fifth most in MLS. The Revs have won 55.7 percent of home games in that span, also the fifth best in the League since 2013. Here is a look at the winningest teams at home since 2013: Most Home Wins in MLS: 2013-Present Rank Club Venue Wins 1. New York Red Bulls Red Bull Arena 48 2. FC Dallas Toyota Stadium 47 T-3. Portland Timbers FC Providence Park 38 KOUASSI SEES EXTENDED ACTION After making his MLS and Revolution debut against FC Dallas on March 18, midfielder and Designated Player Xavier Kouassi has become a mainstay in the club's defensive midfield. Kouassi has made four starts on the season and played all 90 minutes in each of the team's last three contests. FAGUNDEZ HITS HOMEGROWN MINUTES MILESTONE Midfielder Diego Fagundez made history in the 15th minute of the April 8 contest against the Houston Dynamo. The seventh-year pro became the first MLS Homegrown field player to reach 10,000 career minutes. The only other Homegrown player to do so is goalkeeper Bill Hamid (D.C. United). After signing his first professional contract at just 15 years old, Fagundez is now a leader on the team at only 22. He is now the second-longest tenured member of the Revolution behind only Chris Tierney. After more than 155 League games with the club, Fagundez stands near the top of several of the club's all-time charts. He currently ranks seventh in goals (34), tied for third in game-winning goals (13), tied for 10th in assists (26), and tied for fifth in game-winning assists (8). Midfielder Scott Caldwell, the second Homegrown Player in Revs history, is set to become the second Homegrown field player to reach 10,000 minutes. Caldwell needs only 318 more minutes of action to join Fagundez on the list. Here is a look at the top five Homegrown Players in terms of minutes played: MLS Minutes Played - Homegrown Players Rank Player GP GS Minutes 1. Bill Hamid/DC 166 166 14,739 2. Wil Trapp/CLB 100 97 8,555 When Kouassi made his debut on March 18, he became the third player from Côte d Ivoire to appear for the Revolution, joining Arsene Oka and current teammate Benjamin Angoua. Since then, he submitted his first 90-minute shift in MLS in the 1-1 draw at Portland on April 2, completing 90 percent of his passes in the contest. Kouassi also saw 90 minutes of action in a clean sheet performance against Houston on April 8, a 2-0 win. Kouassi joined the Revolution in July 2016 after signing a pre-contract with the club in February 2016. He missed the entire 2016 campaign after suffering a torn ACL with FC Sion shortly after he was signed. The Ivorian international joined the club in July 2016 after eight professional seasons in Switzerland, where he most recently captained FC Sion in the Swiss Super League from 2013-16. Kouassi also played four seasons with Servette FC (2009-13) in Switzerland and began his career in the top-flight Ivorian League 1. ROOKIE SMITH EMERGES AS RELIABLE CENTER BACK A fourth-round selection (75th overall) in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft, Revolution defender Josh Smith has had to fight for every opportunity to see the field in his rookie campaign. His hard work has paid off, as the 25-year-old has already made three starts and played 269 minutes this season. Smith made his professional debut on April 2 at Portland and helped lock down a Timbers attack that leads MLS in goals scored. The 25-year-old rookie went toe-to-toe with Timbers forward Fanendo Adi and held him off the score sheet in the 1-1 draw. On April 8, Smith earned his second start and helped the Revs produce a clean sheet against a potent Houston Dynamo offense that ranks third in the League in goals scored. He logged a third consecutive start on April 15 at Chicago despite undergoing thumb surgery earlier in the week. By starting against Portland, Smith, the 6-foot-4 native of Kaiserslautern, Germany, became the first fourth-round SuperDraft selection to start a game as a rookie since Colorado Rapids forward Dominique Badji did so in 2015. He finished the match with one tackle, one foul won, 32 touches, and one shot in 89 minutes. HELPING HANDS: SEVERAL ACTIVE REVS TOP ASSIST CHARTS Multiple Revolution players are climbing up the club's all-time assists chart this season, as four players are currently among the top 10 in team history. Revolution defender Chris Tierney moved into second place on the list with his 36th assist in the home opener on March 25 vs. Minnesota. Midfielder Lee Nguyen is only one helper behind him with 35 career assists, tied for third with Joe-Max Moore in the New England record books. Midfielder Diego Fagundez is already the first Homegrown Player to crack the top 10 and will pass Jay Heaps with his next assist. TEAM NOTES DELAMEA THRIVING IN FIRST MLS SEASON The Revolution opened the 2017 MLS season with a fresh look in central defense, led by international signing defender Antonio Delamea. The Slovenian has wasted no time adjusting to his new surroundings, playing all 540 minutes of the season in central defense for New England. Delamea currently ranks third in MLS in clearances (39) and has won over 76 percent of his aerial duels (13-for-17). The 25-year-old's contributions have been quickly noted by the rest of the League, as Delamea earned back-to-back selections on MLSsoccer.com's Team of the Week. His first recognition came after stifling the dangerous Portland Timbers' attack in a 1-1 draw on April 2. He followed up that performance by contributing to the Revs' clean sheet win vs. Houston on April 8, earning him a second consecutive Team of the Week nod. Delamea joined the Revolution via transfer from Slovenian first-division side Olimpija Ljubljana. He made a combined 134 appearances across all competitions in his senior career in Slovenia since going pro in 2008. Delamea's previous experience includes five campaigns with NK Olimpija Ljubljana (2011-17) in Slovenia s top-flight PrvaLiga, and three seasons with NK Interblock Ljubljana (2008-11) in both the PrvaLiga (2008-10) and the Slovenian Second League (2010-11). The Celje, Slovenia native earned his first international cap for the Slovenia National Team on Nov. 14, 2016, appearing as a halftime substitute in a friendly against Poland. LIGHTS, KAMARA, ACTION! Forward Kei Kamara entered the 2017 season with an eye on the MLS record books. Kamara currently sits tied for 11th place on the League s all-time goal-scoring chart after bringing his total to 88 with his tally on April 8 vs. Houston. He is now just one goal shy of entering the top 10. Kamara currently ranks second among active MLS players in goals scored, trailing only San Jose s Chris Wondolowski, who has registered 123 career goals in MLS regular season play. Roy Lassiter 179 154 88 JUAN NATION, JUAN TEAM: AGUDELO JOINS USMNT CAMP Forward Juan Agudelo entered preseason having received a call up to the United States Men's National Team for its annual January Camp. He now owns 23 caps in his senior international career. Under the guidance of recently hired head coach Bruce Arena, Agudelo appeared in both of the USMNT's friendlies against Serbia and Jamaica. After appearing as a late-game substitute against Serbia on Jan. 29, Agudelo started and played a full, 90-minute shift against Jamaica on Feb. 3, helping lead the United States to a 1-0 win. The call up was Agudelo's second since October, when he was named to the USMNT's squad for a friendly against New Zealand on Oct. 11. New England's reigning Golden Boot winner will be seeking a spot on Bruce Arena's roster for an upcoming pair of 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in late March. 2016 MVP ROWE COTINUES TO SHOWCASE VERSATILITY New England Revolution midfielder Kelyn Rowe made his fourth career start on the back line and his second career start at left back in the Revs' 2-0 shutout victory against Houston on April 8. When Rowe starts in defense, the Revolution are 3-0-1 with four clean sheets. All of Rowe's previous three starts on the back line came last season, when he played every position except for center back and goalkeeper. Rowe made two starts at right back on May 14, 2016 vs. Chicago and Aug. 24, 2016 vs. San Jose, and one at left back on Oct. 23, 2016 vs. Montreal. Following the April 8 match vs. Houston, Revolution head coach Jay Heaps had high praise for Rowe's performance: "I thought Kelyn [Rowe] was going to get a lot of the ball and he did in the second half," Heaps said, "I thought he added a lot physically, so he s going to win these individual battles. We knew there was going to be a lot of 1 v 1 defending and Kelyn is one of the best. He doesn t get enough credit for it, but he s a good one-on-one defender, especially when there s physicality involved. FEMI RETURNS New England re-acquired forward Femi Hollinger-Janzen from Minnesota United FC on Feb. 15, 2017 in exchange for goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth. Femi was originally selected by the Revs in the third round (51st overall) of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, but was taken by Minnesota in the 2017 MLS Expansion Draft. In 2016, the Indiana University product made 19 appearances, including one start, scoring two goals and adding one assist in 273 minutes played. His 18 substitute appearances ranked second on the team. Last season, Femi was one of three players selected in the third round of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft or later to record minutes. Femi made his 2017 debut on March 18 at FC Dallas, playing 11 minutes as a second-half substitution. He has totaled three appearances and 32 minutes of action so far this season.

TEAM NOTES SOME REAL KEEPERS New England enters the 2017 MLS season with quality depth at the goalkeeper position. Cody Cropper joined the New England Revolution on Aug. 18 and has since started six games for the Revolution. Last year, he made his MLS debut in the club's season finale on Oct. 23 vs. Montreal. Cropper registered a pair of saves and posted a shutout in the Revs' 3-0 victory. He has started all six games thus far in 2017 and owns one shutout on the season, April 8 vs. Houston. Midway through the 2016 MLS regular season, Brad Knighton began a string of starts on Aug. 20 at Columbus where he started in net for nine of New England's final 10 matches. In those nine matches, Knighton posted a 4-3-1 record, recorded 20 saves, registered two shutouts, and held a goals against average of 1.02. In all, Knighton finished the 2016 regular season with a 6-5- 1 record and was named the Players' Player of the Year by his teammates. WATSON, DELAMEA TAKE INTERNATIONAL STAGE In addition to Juan Agudelo (USA), defenders Je-Vaughn Watson and Antonio Delamea have each played international matches since the conclusion of the 2016 MLS regular season. Watson received the call up to the Jamaica National Team prior to a pair of February friendlies against the United States (Feb. 3) and Honduras (Feb. 17). Watson started both matches, played a full 90 minutes, and captained the Reggae Boyz in both contests. Prior to joining the Revs, Antonio Delamea made his interntational debut with the Slovenia National Team. The defender earned his first cap as a halftime sub in a friendly at Poland (Nov. 11). Matt Turner has had a number of opportunities with the Richmond Kickers during the 2016 and 2017 USL seasons. The second-year goalkeeper has posted a 0.56 goals against average and registered four shutouts in nine starts. REVS DEBUT NEW SECONDARY KIT IN COLORADO New England debuted its new secondary kit in the 2017 season opener in Colorado. The new red-and-white uniform, which evolved from the club's "Flag of New England" kits, brings an authentic, classic soccer design to Major League Soccer. The shirt's design is symbolic of the 13 stripes on the American flag representing the original colonies, including the six that comprise New England. These secondary kits are a reminder to fans of the Revolution's pride in representing all of New England. GILLETTE STADIUM RECIEVES SAFETY ACT CERTIFICATION On March 30, 2017, Gillette Stadium became the first venue in New England to achieve Safety Act designation and certification, the highest level of protection awarded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The Safety Act, enacted in 2002, encourages the creation and use of anti-terrorism technologies and practices. Gillette Stadium is not only the first sports and entertainment venue in New England to achieve the designation, but it is also the first MLS venue and only the fourth NFL venue to be certified under the Safety Act. The Revolution's home in Foxborough has previously been recognized for a variety of security achievements. Last season, Gillette Stadium ranked No. 1 among NFL venues in safety and security according to an annual survey of fans. TOP ITALIAN CLUBS COME TO FOXBOROUGH FOR ICC On Sunday, July 30th, Gillette Stadium will host AS Roma and Juventus F.C. for an International Champions Cup contest. The match is set to kick off at 4 p.m. ET and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN. Juventus F.C. played a friendly against Spanish side FC Barcelona at Gillette Stadium on July 27, 2003. AS Roma has not previously played a match at Gillette Stadium. AS Roma and Juventus F.C. currently sit atop the Italian Serie A league. Juventus is also currently competing in the UEFA Champions League and defeated FC Barcelona, 3-0, in the first leg of the quarterfinals. The two clubs have developed a strong rivalry budding from past success. Juventus F.C. is in position to secure its sixth consecutive Serie A title while AS Roma is looking for its first since 2001. Gillette Stadium has hosted 36 international soccer matches since 2002 at both the club and national team level. Most recently, it hosted three matches during Copa America Centenario in 2016, which featured South American national teams including Argentina, Brazil, and Chile.

TECHNICAL STAFF BIOS JAY HEAPS HEAD COACH Jay Heaps is in his sixth season as Head Coach of the New England Revolution after becoming the sixth head coach in club history on Nov. 14, 2011. The Nashua, N.H. native and Longmeadow, Mass. product has led the Revs to three MLS Cup Playoff appearances, including a trip to MLS Cup in 2014, and to the 2016 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final. With his appointment in 2011, Heaps brought his hallmark qualities that fans and teammates appreciated during his playing days to the bench: spirit, energy, charisma, toughness, and passion. He is the first former Revs player and the only New England native to coach the club. In 2016, Heaps led the Revolution to the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final the 10 th major tournament final in club history. In regular season play, Heaps oversaw the implementation of Designated Player Kei Kamara, who was acquired in a midseason trade, and helped players such as Juan Agudelo, Kelyn Rowe, and Brad Knighton flourish. After Heaps instituted a 4-4-2 formation late in the season, the team won five out of seven MLS games to close the season. Heaps was named head coach after an 11-year MLS playing career that included nine seasons with the Revolution. He anchored the club s defense from 2001-09, making 243 appearances and 238 starts, both the third most in club history. After his retirement, Heaps remained close to the club as an ambassador and color analyst on both its television and radio broadcasts, while also working in the investment banking industry. After earning MLS Rookie of the Year honors with the Miami Fusion in 1999, Heaps returned to his hometown club in June 2001 through a trade. During the next nine seasons in New England, he cemented his legacy as not only a fan favorite, but also a driving leader on the field and in the locker room during the team s run of four MLS Cup appearances (2002, 2005-07). He is one of three Revolution players to start in each of the club s first four MLS Cup appearances and was also a member of the Revolution squads that won the 2007 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and the 2008 North American Super- Liga titles. Heaps has participated in all but one of New England s 10 final appearances as a player or coach, including all three of its Open Cup Finals. At the time of his retirement in 2009, Heaps held the distinction of being the longest-tenured Revolution player in the team s history. When he left the team, Heaps was the club s all-time leader in games played (243), starts (238), and minutes played (21,619). He also ranked fifth on the Revs career assist chart (26) and had totaled nine career goals. In MLS record books, Heaps was ranked eighth all-time in MLS in games played (314), fourth in starts (299), and third in minutes played (27,363) at the time of his retirement. He concluded his playing career with 17 goals and 34 assists overall. Heaps made at least 27 regular season appearances in each of his 11 professional seasons. Despite his physical playing style and fearless nature, Heaps missed just three games due to injury during more than eight seasons with the Revolution, making him one of the most durable and reliable players in MLS history. Honored as the Revolution s Defender of the Year for in 2009, Heaps was rewarded for his stellar play with a call-up to the U.S. Men s National Team for the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup. He went on to earn all four caps on his USMNT résumé during the tournament, including his international debut on July 11, 2009 against Haiti in front of his hometown crowd at Gillette Stadium. Heaps is also a former member of the U.S. Under-17 and Under-20 National Teams. Heaps played collegiately at Duke, where he won the 1998 Missouri Athletic Club Award as the national player of the year. He was a three-time finalist for the Hermann Trophy, a four-time first-team All-ACC selection, and a four-time all-region choice. He left Duke s program ranked third in career goals (45), fourth in career assists (37), and tied for second in career points (127). In addition to earning Soccer America s National Freshman of the Year honors in 1995, Heaps also played three-and-a-half years of basketball under legendary Duke and USA Basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski before leaving midway through his senior year to pursue a professional soccer career. He was named one of Duke s Top-10 Devils of the Decade by the Duke Chronicle. In addition to earning his USSF A Coaching License in March 2014, Heaps accrued three years of collegiate coaching experience during his MLS playing days with the Revolution. In 2004, he was a volunteer assistant coach at Boston College under Ed Kelly as the Eagles went 13-5-2 and advanced to the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament. He followed that with a two-year stint (2005-06) at Northeastern under Brian Ainscough in the same capacity. HEAPS vs. MLS Team Regular Season Postseason Other Comp. Overall Pct.
