Only members of the Board of Directors are eligible to vote on Items of business. Proposed items for the agenda must be submitted in writing to the hockey Office no later than one week prior to the net Board of Directors meeting. PRESENT: - Mike Williamson - Lisa Pietras - Kris Lesniewski - Brenda Clarke - Mark Smit - Paul Schafer - Steve Cutler - Lisa Buck (8:00) - Chuck Nash (8:15) - Donato Dibucchianico REGRETS: - Tom Hopgood - Sue Sacco - John Tedesco - Dominic Marra GENERAL MEETING 1. Call to order at 7:07 - Presented by: Mark Smit - Seconded by: Lisa Pietras - Passed 7/0/0 2. Motion Approval of Agenda - Presented by: Mike Williamson - Lisa Pietras - Passed 7-0-0 3. Conflicts of interest noted: None

4. Motion to approve minutes of Feb 26, 2011 meeting - postponed OLD BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS 1. Bantam AA Jersey Exception 1. Motion to allow Bantam AA team to use the camouflage jerseys used for the Spirit initiative for the final game of the season. 2. Presented by: Steve Cutler 3. Seconded by: Lisa Pietras 4. Question: what do the sponsors think? Jerseys actually came from the Storm so they are okay. 5. Passed 5/0/2 2. Concussion Update - Working with Jackie Singledam, and have spoken to Don Hisey determining more info on what would be best for our kids - Have spoken to the London Knights - Don Hisey does not have a way of supporting us. Recommending that we go directly with the Fisher group. Fisher group has the background to provide post-concussion in Guelph and other cities. Hisey group strength is in Michigan not in Canada. - What is best way of giving info to coaches? Would like to bering all coaches and parents in foc sidcussion on what our direction is. Sometime between middle of April to end of April. Board was targeting try-out time. - Cost is the same between the groups/ - Jackie S. is not affiliated with Hisey or Fisher group. Practitioners can be licensed for Impact testing. There are some issues with the American group regarding their interpretation of privacy legislation. The product is the same however the way the info is shared/used is different between American and Canadian licencees. - Is it mandatory for GMHA Yes for Minor Peewee and above for HL and Rep - GTHL in negotiations with Fisher Group - London added it onto the fees for players. - We would like to make it mandatory to take test and it is required prior to players playing. - Our service agreement will be with Impact - Recommend that all Rep players will have baseline testing done by June 30, 2011, and HL be Sept 1, 2011. - AI: Jackie S will send info to Steve to post on Web.

- There is a card from Impact that will determine if the player should take the test. If a child comes to the bench with any indications, they should not be playing in that game. Coaches and Trainers will have a card to go through. - AI: need to write guidelines fro this (Hockey Canada has this on website) - Trainers need to have the skills, which is part of the package. But we need a mandatory meeting with all Trainers and Assistant Trainers. No ice will be given to the team until Trainer had been at meeting. Coaches and parents will be welcome. - Player will be allowed back on the ice only at the direction of Physician in a progressive set of stages ultimately by a concussion certified doctor. - AI: we need Legal to develop a waiver. Mike to give progression to Paul to go to OMHA and Legal. - GMHA will embark on helping players understand concussions and implications. $20 added to fee for 20 minute online test to establish base line, all rep by June 20, and HL by Sep 1 for mpeewee and above. A Trainer must attend some meeting before team gets ice. Coaches and trainers will receive scat card. - For HL its best to be communicated in the rinls, but we need to get information to come out. - Mike to talk to Hisey Group. 3. Power Play Tournament Lisa Pietras - New rule from Tri-County to reduce number of tournaments from 3 to 2 for A to AA during regular season. Is it feasible to run our PowerPlay tournament? - It has been an issue with Guelph coaches that they have to attend our tournament. - Are we also going to get the numbers from other centres if they can only choose 2 tournaments. Tri-county wants this because they are going to 28 games and remove the third tournament. - We used to get more Alliance and GRHL teams than we are now, so if OMHA can t attend, this tournament may not be cost-effective to run, - Suggestion to ask for an exception for GMHA from Tri-County. If not allowed, we can look at different dates. Lisa P to bring back to the Board. 4. Tryouts - Pretty much set, but we still need some volunteers. - Lisa B to email group for volunteers - What are we doing for Regionals that have not played here last year, can t buy pass on the door. We normally charge $100 at the door, but it is not fair to them. - Motion to allow Regional Players to pay $75 at the door. Seconded by: Mike Williamson Passed 8/0/0 5. Registration

- Starting May 1 June 30 for Early bird. - Midgets, this year will register for early bird - Jackie to send email to minor midget and midget players advising them of the change in registration date. 6. Equipment - About 8 sets of jerseys with socks for next year are left over - What about goalie equipment? - Kris L and Mark will list. 7. Waivers - Motion: Rep committee suggests that for minor bantam and up, 5 waivers players Seconded by: Lisa Pietras Passed 9/0/0 - Motion: Rep committee recommends a Rule of Operation change fro peewee and below would allow 3 waivers players for AAA teams. Seconded by: Mark Smit Passed 9/0/0 8. NRP Players - OMHA passed the rule that AA can accept players from single A centres. (this would be Centre Wellington and maybe some from Hespeler) We are waiting for the map from PMHA to know who can come. For minor peewee and up. - HL committee asked for none to be allowed because we are already turning Guelph residents as due to lack of ice. - From a Rep stand point we could use the stronger kids - We have a scheduling issue that we need to lookat, perhaps we can get more ice fro HL rather than turning kids away. - Option to look at: None, 1,2, or 3 per divisions - Motion: Rep committee recommends that we allows 3 regional players for Minor Peewee to Midget Seconded by: Mike Williamson 8/1/1 9. Development Committee - Submit position of Technical Director for GMHA (see document) - This is Rep and Select only $25,000 to $29,000 for TD, Mike Ciavarella from Mitron would become the acting TD. HL can go to clinics and con go to ice times of similar age to observe the practice. - This proposal was to develop a low cost TD, which meant Rep/Select only. - Tyke to Novice saw improvement

- What about by division, if we take Novice to Minor Atom. Mike will charge $22.73 per hour. - Distinction between Recreational and Representative hockey. But the clinics will be open for every group but monitoring will be for Rep/Select - Mitron didn t go in the direction we wanted to this year. Mike does owe us 3 seminars. We can ask Mike to do specific HL clinics. Template does not work for ½ ice hour practice. So we would have to make full ice and get coaches to work together. There are 2 sets of manuals: HL and Competitive. The HL has 32 practice plans. The competitive manuals consist of 5 separate manuals and assemble the drills that would be appropriate for where the team is. - The HL manuals have the curriculum for each age group. - Development Committee doesn t believe that TD is necessary for HL - Suggestion that TD does 3 seminars for HL coaches. We don t want to have HL go to a separate development path. - DevComm designed this proposal with a much lower budget. - Does this amount include the books? No - Disagreement regarding what was the charge to be: DevCommbelieve it was per player, we think the invoice was per manual. It was $75 per manual and for 475 registrants (Rep players) - When will we see and what will we see as far as benefits? - There is a pre and post season assessment for each player. Team assessments are based on age-specific skills. - We need to have this RD in order to make the Mitron program work. We would need to have this as a two year time frame not just a one year time frame. Dev Comm would have to show in 2 years that this is working. - AI:DevComm we want to see off ice for HL coaches. How many more hours are available from Mike. - We would still do some development for Mid - get to provide them something Need another meeting for budget maybe Apr 7 Motion to close meeting. Presented by Lisa Buck, seconded by Chuck Nash. Passed 8/0/0
