The Weymouth Middle Distance Triathlon Inc Classic & Sprint - 3rd July 2016 Please read these instructions carefully and if you have any further questions you can contact me at mark@bustinskin.com Location of the event is - Weymouth College, Cranford Avenue, Weymouth. Dorset. DT4 7LQ
Car parking. There is plenty of parking in the car park at Weymouth College race HQ, this is free to all competitors, once we fill the car park (about 190 spaces) you will be directed to the pay and display car park at the Lodmoor Country Park, this is only 50m away so no big deal, only you will have to pay as this is a pay and display car park. The answer to this is get here early to avoid disappointment! Please do not park your car on the road where it could obstruct the event and be a nuisance to the locals. You will be able to leave the car park at Race HQ when you have completed your event, if you intend your family/spectators to be driving around during the event then it is better parked in the pay and display car park. Please bring plenty of change as you will not be able to get any from the registration staff. Directions to the car park are here You will have a 5 minute walk to registration/transition from the car park, follow the signs, please bring everything you need to race with you, otherwise you will be doing a fair bit of running backwards and forwards before you even start to race!! Once you get to the tennis courts, with all of your gubbins, it will all be simple. Register/rack/race! So pay attention - here comes the technical bit!
Registration and Transition racking is on Sunday 3rd only Location - Tennis courts - it will open at 05:30 it will close at 07:00 for all events. Yes yes I know we said it may happen on Saturday too but logistics wise this isn t happening, plus you don t have to drive to the location twice to pick up an envelope! So SUNDAY it is, the same as always. You will need to be racked before 06:30 if you are in the Middle Distance. Classic & Sprint races you will need to be in by 07:00 you will have access to your bike after this up until your race brief but you will not be allowed to rack your bike after the first race starts. Safety of our competitors comes before your lay in bed. Getting your stuff, the easy bit! Everything you need, swim hat, numbers, timing chip, competitor sticker pack will all be picked up from registration in one envelope. All you need to do is let the registration staff know what race you are in. The race numbers have been allocated in alphabetical order. You will need to show the registration staff your BTF card if you have one along with ID. No card will result in you paying the 5 BTF insurance. Non BTF need not worry, you have already paid for this. Please make sure you have your bike/helmet/wrist bands on before attempting to rack your bike. Please do this in the top tennis courts before moving in to transition. No stickers - No entry. This is non negotiable. Go to the top gate (tennis courts) to register - once you have stickered up your bike etc you can pass through to transition. Race stickers place as described on the sticker pack. Race number - TO BE WORN - on your back for the bike - on your front for the run - if no race belt then please wear it on your front. Chip timing. Lost chips will charged for @ 50 per chip. Please make sure it is secured on to your LEFT ankle under your wetsuit, no chip means no time.
Transition Box Please only bring a small box to transition or a soft bag, new rules means everyone panics - just use your common sense, if it s a huge bag we will Ebay it, if its small enough to remain by your bike, that s where you will find it when you get back. Race starts - Middle starts at or as close to 07:00 as the weather permits. Classic starts at 08:00 (or when the last swimmer from the half exits the water, whichever is sooner) Sprint starts at 08:45 (or when the last swimmer from the classic exits the water, whichever is sooner) We will start without you in attendance as we need to be out of the water on time. Transition is about 5 minutes walk away from parking at the race HQ and finish area. Please keep this in mind when you are getting yourself sorted. Race briefings will be given 15 minutes before race start at Transition in the cafe, this is a snug area so huddle up and keep warm people, these are compulsory and the race will start as soon as the briefing has finished. Prize presentation will be given 45 minutes after the winners have arrived back at the finish. This will be in the race finish area at the college. Age group prizes will be handed out after we have the last competitor back for your race. If you think you have won an award please be good enough to wait for it, we will not be sending these in the post. You can however collect it at your convenience later in the week.
