Five Gaited Stake TBA Classes You may select the Class of your choice and they may be added with $300 Sponsorship MOTORIZED VEHICLES (see GR1301.7): Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. Stable Parking passes for Trainers and Exhibitors may be obtained at the Parking Booth or Visitor Information Center upon entry to the Park. HORSE TRAILER PARKING Horse trailer day passes are required for all competitors showing out of their trailer and must be purchased for $20 at the Parking Booth. IN NO INCIDENT WILL THE KENTUCKY HORSE PARK OR THE KENTUCKY SPRING PREMIER HORSE SHOW BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE IN ACCIDENTS OR DAMAGE TO PERSONS OR ANIMALS OR LIABLE FOR ANY INJURY SUSTAINTED IN ANY WAY TO EXHIBITORS, SPECTATORS, EMPLOYEES OR ANY OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES. NOR WILL THE KENTUCKY HORSE PARK OR THE KENTUCKY SPRING PREMIER HORSE SHOW AND ITS MANAGEMENT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ARTICLES LOST OR STOLEN. IT WILL BE THE CONDITIONS OF ANY ENTRY AT THE KENTUCKY SPRING PREMIER TO HOLD BLAMELESS ANY PARTIES CONNECTED TO THE SHOW FOR ANY TYPE OF LOSS. EVERY CLASS OFFERED HEREIN, WHICH IS COVERED BY THE RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CURRENT USEF RULEBOOK, WILL BE CONDUCTED AND JUDGED IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH. ENTRY DEADLINE: All Entries close March 31, 2014. Entries postmarked after this date will be charged post entry fees regardless of qualification date. POST ENTRIES ARE REGULAR FEE PLUS $10 per class. ENTRIES CAN NOT BE ACCEPTED UNLESS ACCOMPANIED BY CHECK INCLUDING STALL FEES. STALLS WILL NOT BE RESERVED WITHOUT PAYMENT IN FULL. Entries may also be paid by credit card by calling 859-457-0841 or on the entry. ONE-HORSE PER ENTRY FORM. Entries must be completed on entry forms furnished by the Kentucky Spring Premier Horse Show. PLEASE TYPE OR PRINT. HORSES MUST BE ENTERED BY THEIR REGISTERED NAME AND CORRECT OWNERSHIP. Copies of registration papers are required. YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY OR FEDERAL TAX ID NUMBER IS REQUIRED TO RECEIVE PREMIUM CHECK There will be no open charge accounts without an open check in the office. USEF membership number is required for owner, trainer, exhibitor, handler, lessee, agent or coach; as well as any other association membership numbers required for breeds and disciplines. Every exhibitor, owner, agent or trainer must sign the entry blank and be accompanied by a check covering all fees and charges. No substitution of any entry may be made except in accordance with USEF GR911. All Entries are required to have a Certificate of Equine Infectious Anemia Test (Coggins Test) within the past twelve months as required by the Kentucky State Veterinarian. No exceptions. ALL HORSES MUST HAVE A HEALTH CERTIFICATE issued by a veterinarian within the past 120 days with a temperature on each animal. STALLS: Horse and tack stalls are $110 each for the entire show. Grounds Fee $20 per Horse (Showing with no Stall). NO FIRST BEDDING PROVIDED. All stalls are 10 X 10 PVC panel permanent box stalls equipped with sliding doors and equimix asphalt flooring. One Day stalls are available at $45 for the day.

BARN AISLES: Horses may be unloaded in the barn area but VANS MUST BE REMOVED FROM AREA IMMEDIATELY THEREAFTER. VEHICLES MUST BE PARKED ONLY IN DESIGNATED AREAS. ANY VEHICLE PARKED IN THE BARN AREA, ON THE GRASS OR AREAS OTHERWISE DESIGNATED AS NON-PARKING AREAS WILL BE TICKETED AND TOWED per rules from the Kentucky Horse Park. COURTESY TO OFFICIALS: Any act of discourtesy to the judges on the part of any exhibitor, owner, trainer or groom shall disqualify the horse and rider. The owner shall forfeit his entry fees and any prize money won at this show; and, subjects himself to be reported to the USEF. During the time of judging, no person will be allowed in the ring except ring attendants, judge(s) of the class and when necessary the handler in charge of the horse being judged. Attendants or grooms will enter the ring in suitable attire only. Headers may enter the ring by the end gate only and must take no actions that will affect the performance of any animal in the class. Exhibitors must receive permission from the Steward to approach the judge. CONTROL OF HORSES: Horses must be kept under control at all times. At the discretion of the judges and/or steward, horses may not be allowed to compete. Owner will forfeit entry fees. USEF FEE: In compliance with the USEF rules, a $16 fee will be collected on all horses entered including equitation horses ($8 Drugs & Medications Fee; $8 USEF Fee). Please include on the entry blank. USEF AMATEUR CARDS (GR1307) All participants competing in amateur classes must present the competition secretary with a current USEF Amateur Card. USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A non-member may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) lead line; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. AMERICAN SADDLEBRED HORSE ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP: All owners and trainers of American Saddlebred horses must be members of the American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA). You can contact them at 859-259-2742 for questions regarding your membership. All owners, trainers and riders must also have a current United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) card. UNITED PROFESSIONAL HORSEMAN S ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP: Professional trainer of a UPHA Classic entry must be an Active member of UPHA and the current owner of the entry needs to be an Association member of UPHA and the membership numbers must appear on the entry form. If a non-professional is exhibiting the horse they must be an Associate or Junior member of the UPHA. All exhibitors showing in Challenge Cup Classes must be Junior Members of UPHA.

AMERICAN HACKNEY HORSE SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP: Owners and trainers of ponies participating at Federation licensed competitions in any Hackney section must be current members in good standing with the American Hackney Horse Society and provide an original or copy of the AHHS membership card unless the competition, at their discretion, confirms electronically with the AHHS office. Lessees are considered owners in connection with this membership requirement. In the event of an entry with multiple owners, only one owner need be a member of AHHS. Kentucky State Academy Rules Attire of the rider: Jodhpurs, vests, tie and long sleeved shirt, with riding boots and gloves. Hair should be neatly held back so that the back number is visible. Riding suits and hats are prohibited. Protective headgear is strongly encouraged. Equipment for the horse: School bridles, double or full bridles with running martingales and German martingales are all permissible along with appropriate saddle for the division being judged. Any protective equipment (shin boots, knee boots, rundowns, saddle pads, etc) will be permitted. Blunt spurs are optional at the discretion of the instructor. No braiding of the horse; hoof blacking is optional. Training devices such as chains, stretchers, and blinkers are NOT allowed in the warm up ring or the show ring. Class Divisions and Judging Criteria: There should be two main divisions Equitation which is to be judged on basic seat, hands and form, along with effective control of the horse. Pleasure classes to be judged on showmanship, ring generalship and presentation of the horse to its best ability. Correct diagonals are not to be judged in the pleasure classes. Classes should be further divided into walk/trot and age divisions. Rider Eligibility: A rider is no longer eligible for the academy division if he/she has shown, dressed in a riding suit in a regular horse show class; with the exception of competing in a 4-H Horse Show. This applies to riders that compete in a suit in the walk/trot division they cannot then compete in the walk/trot/canter academy division. Horse Eligibility: A horse that is used in an academy competition can be farm or privately owned and must earn its living in a lesson program. It cannot be maintained in training within the current show season. Cross Entering: Academy horses (with different riders) are permitted to cross enter in regular classes of a show as long as they meet the academy criteria. If an academy rider competes in a regular class at a show he/she is ineligible for further competition in the academy division.
