The F A L L 2 0 1 4 Magnolia Elementary Physical Education Newsletter I Good SPORTSMANSHIP Physical education not only teaches the psycho-motor domain but the cognitive and affective domains as well. My goal is to have every student experience success. I do not stress competition. Instead I stress that if you do your best then you are a winner. Good sportsmanship and teamwork are very important not only in the PE but in real life situations too. Good sportsmanship is always required in class! Hello! Basic Skills The foundation of the elementary physical education program is the teaching of basic skills. After students have first been taught the basic skills and have practiced them in isolation, students should be given opportunities to use them in a game or activity. The basic skills of throwing, catching, dribbling, striking, and kicking are the foundations for most sports and games.
