GALWAY DOWNS COUNTY SHOW SERIES MEDAL CLASS SPECIFICATIONS Green Rider Medal Open to Junior and Amateur members of. All entries to jump a medal type course of fences 2 3 including at least two changes of direction. A work off is at the judge s discretion. Riders may cross enter the Mini or Adult Amateur Medal. Riders competing at 2 6 may enter the Green Rider Medal only in their first year of showing at that height. Mini Medal (17 & Under) Open to Junior members of. All entries to jump a medal type course of fences 2 6. Course will incorporate 2 standard tests and include at least two changes of direction. No additional testing or work off is at the judge's discretion.. Riders may cross enter the Green Rider Medal, but not the Medal. Adult Amateur Medal (18 & Over) Same specifications as the Mini Medal. Medals (3' and 3'3 ) Open to Junior and Amateur members of. All entries to jump a medal type course of fences including at least two changes of direction. A work off of the top 4 riders (if possible) is mandatory. Riders may not cross enter the Mini Medal or the Adult Amateur Medal. Flat Medal Open to Junior and Amateur members of. All entries will work collectively on the flat and will be asked to demonstrate at least six advanced flat work skills such as lengthening and/or shortening of stride, counter canter (no more than 12 at a time), turn on the haunches, turn on the forehand, work without irons and/or other tests deemed appropriate by the judge. 2 6 Medal Open to Junior and Amateur riders of any age who are members. This class is open to Short/Long Stirrup, Green Rider, Low Children s/adult Amateurs and Pony riders only. Riders may not jump fences exceeding 2 6 at this show. To jump a course 2 3-2 6 in height with no combinations. At the judge s discretion, there may be a work off of two or more competitors. A minimum of three must enter the show ring and start on course. The highest ranking Junior and Adult above 6th place (must have completed the course) will receive a medal and becomes eligible to compete in the 2 6 Medal Finals. Winners are ineligible to re-enter this class for the balance of the qualifying year. Horsemanship Medal Open to Junior and Amateur riders of any age who are members. To be shown over a course of not less than 8 jumps at 2 9-3. At the judge s discretion, there may be a work off of two or more competitors. A minimum of three must enter the show ring and start on course. The highest ranking Junior and Adult above 6th place (must have completed the course) will receive a medal and becomes eligible to compete in the Horsemanship Medal Finals. Winners are ineligible to re-enter this class for the balance of the qualifying year. Riders may not cross enter the 2 6 Medal but may enter the Equitation Medal. Equitation Medal Open to Junior and Amateur riders of any age who are members. To be shown over a course of not less than 8 jumps at 3-3 3. There must be a work off of two or more competitors using any of AHSA tests 1-17. A minimum of three must enter the show ring and start on course. The highest ranking Junior and Adult above 6th place (must have completed the course) will receive a medal and becomes eligible to compete in the Equitation Medal Finals. Winners may re-enter this class for the balance of the qualifying year. Riders may not cross enter the 2 6 Medal but may enter the Horsemanship Medal. Flat Medal--Flatwork only. Must incorporate at least three of the USEF tests 1-9. Work off at the Judge's discretion. 2 3 Medal -- Riders to jump a course of fences at 2 3 with at least 8 fences. Combinations and oxers are NOT permitted. Open to Junior and Amateur riders who have never won a Medal Final at this height or have never won an equitation over fences class of 2 6 in height or higher. Riders may not enter into the 2 6 or 2 9 medal classes. Three riders must enter the ring and start the course. At the Judge s discretion, there may be a work off of two or more of the top riders. The judge may select from any of the USEF tests 1-18 (excluding test 16). 2 6 Medal -Riders to jump a course of fences at 2 6 with at least 8 fences, including oxers and at least one change of direction. One bending line or a roll back is required. Open to Junior and Amateur riders who have never won a Medal Final at this height or have never won an equitation class of 3 0 in height or higher. Three riders must enter the ring and start the course. At the Judge s discretion, there may be work off of two or more of the top riders. The judge may select from any of the USEF tests 1-18 (excluding test 16). 2 9 Medal -Riders to jump a course of fences at 2 9 with at least 8 fences, including oxers and two changes of direction. At least one bending line or a roll back is required. Open to Juniors and Amateurs who have never won a Medal Final at this height or have never won an equitation over fences class of 3 3 or higher. At the Judge s discretion, there may be a work off of two or more of the top riders. The judge may select from any of the USEF test 1-18 (excluding test 16). Riders are permitted to cross enter between the 2 6 and 2 9 Medal classes.

GALWAY DOWNS COUNTY SHOW SERIES SPECIAL CLASSES $500 Hunter Derby Open to all riders, fences at graduated heights (2'6 with 2'9 options or 3' with 3'3 options). The Derby consists of 2 rounds, a classic hunter round and a handy hunter round, with the top twelve horses returning for the handy round. If there are fewer than 9 entries, the prize money will be 100% add-back of entry fees. $250 1.0m Child/Adult Jumper Stakes Open to all junior and amateur riders showing in at least one other jumper class at the show. If there are fewer than 6 entries, the prize money will be 100% add-back of entry fees. $250 1.15m Open Jumper Stakes Open to all horses and riders showing in at least one other jumper class at the show. If there are fewer than 6 entries, the prize money will be 100% add-back of entry fees. MEMBERSHIPS: Association memberships are required to compete in, and medal classes and to qualify to compete in the year end finals, as well as to accumulate points for year end awards. It is the exhibitor s responsibility to be eligible as entered. The horse show office will not be able to determine your membership status during the show. GENERAL RULES, REGULATIONS AND INFORMATION NOTE:To be considered properly made and not subject to additional fees, class adds and scratches must be made on proper paperwork in the show office prior to the start of the class. If an exhibitor rides in, but does not properly enter a class, a RDNE (Rode Did Not Enter) fee of $10 plus the class entry fee will be charged. It is not sufficient to inform the gate personnel of adds and scratches, unless an Add/Scratch form is completed in the office, additional charges will apply. This show is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF (unless in direct conflict with local organization rules), and rules and will be conducted and judged therewith. Management The Horse Show Management reserves the right to itself to interpret all questions and conditions in regard to,arising from, or incident to the show without claims for damage or recourse of any kind. All questions not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by the Horse Show Management, their decision to be final. The Management reserves to itself the right to refuse, accept conditionally, or to cancel any entries, disqualify riders or exhibitors, prohibit exhibition of entries and cancel and award prizes without claim for damages: to change any course, to cancel or combine any unfilled classes, or to reschedule classes after due notice to exhibitors, to change or rotate judges, to change specifications in classes to facilitate the time schedule. Conflicts Riders with conflicts (classes, rings, trainers, etc.) are responsible and must arrange their order of go with the gate official so they will not hold up the class. If this has not been done at the start of any class, the rider may be considered to have scratched. Starters may scratch riders without consultation with Show Management. Scratches To be considered properly made (and not subject to fees) adds and scratches must be made on the proper form at the office prior to the commencement of the class, not at the gate. RDNE If an exhibitor rides in, but does not properly enter a class, a RDNE fee of $10, plus the entry fee will be assessed. Protective Headgear This show follows the USEF Rules for ASTM approved Helmets/hardhats. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor, and the parents of minor exhibitors to comply with these Rules. No one may be mounted on the show grounds without approved headgear. Non-Negotiable Checks There will be a penalty of $25 plus bank fees for entries paid by any check that is returned by the bank. Stalls & Shavings May be reserved by calling Robert Kellerhouse at 951.303.0405. Stall reservations are nonrefundable. Trainers, please call Robert as early as possible to let him know how many stalls and tack rooms you will need. Shavings orders are not refundable. Feed Limited feed is available on the grounds. Drug Testing: State of California drug testing rules apply Warm Ups Warm ups will take place in all rings on Friday at 11:00 AM and on both show days from 6:30am to 7:45am. Horses Schooling on Friday but not entered for the show will be assessed a $40 schooling fee. Please pick-up your numbers before schooling in the rings.
