SECTION ONE RULES & PROCEDURES 1.00 INTRODUCTION The World Masters Championships are a means whereby those players, Men, Women Boys and Girls who have been successful during the year in winning BDO & WDF recognised Tournaments and qualifying play-offs or have achieved other special distinctions in listed qualifying BDO recognised events and tables can be brought together by invitation to contest who can earn the Title of Masters Champion of the World in each of the above categories. Since 1974 these Championships have been supported by the Winmau Dartboard Company 2.00 INVITATION CRITERIA a. In SECTION 14.00 are listed the categories and listings of qualifying events and achievements from which the players as eligible will be entitled to invitation for participation the World Masters Championships Finals. b. The determining of the criteria for invitation is solely at the discretion of the BDO Board of Directors 3.00 INVITATION PROCEDURES 3.01 Notification of Invitation a. Invitations to play in the BDO World Masters Championships Finals will be extended to those players fulfilling the criteria as detailed under Section 2.00 of this Document and will be notified by the Promoters/Organisers on the BDO Website www.bdodarts.com 3.02 Eligibility for Participation In order to participate in the World Masters Championship Finals a player; a. Must be a member of the BDO or another member darts body of the World Darts Federation (Lists of which may be found on Page 10 of this document] b. Must not be serving a period of ineligibility imposed by the BDO, the World Darts Federation or any member darts body of the World Darts Federation c. Must not be a registered holder of a currently valid Professional Darts Corporation [PDC] Tour card d. Must not have participated in any PDC Players Championships in the current year 3.03 Responsibilities of Acceptance a. It is the responsibility of the respective organisation to notify to the BDO the names of the players that have qualified for the Championship Finals b. The name of the respective player must be accompanied by: The means by which the player has gained invitation A completed Biography Form if requested for last 16 ladies & 32 Men A head and shoulders passport type photograph for the event programme c. All travel and accommodation arrangements and costs incurred are the responsibility of the respective Organisation / player 3.04 Multiple Invitations a. Whilst some players may qualify for invitation via more than one category players can only accept one invitation to participate regardless of how many categories as qualified from 3.05 Age Criteria Boy s & Girls a. All finalists in the Boys and Girls World Masters Championships must be under the age of 18 on the date of the commencement of the Finals b. BICC - It is recognised that some players participating in the BICC Championships will be under the age of 18 and therefore any winners in the BICC Category reaches the age of 18 by the date of the World Championships finals then that player shall be placed in the draw for the respective Adult section c. Previous World Masters Champion Invite - If the current World Masters Boys or Girls Champion who reaches the age of 18 by the date of the next world Championship to which he/she is invited then that player will be placed in the draw for the respective adult section 24 June 2016 World Masters Championships Page 2

4.00 MATCH PLAY 4.01 Playing Rules a. Unless specified as otherwise the BDO Playing Rules shall apply to all matches played in the BDO World Masters Championships Finals including any qualifying play offs b. The Bracket system will apply to the Men s Women s, Boys and Girls draws 4.02 Playing Schedules a. The BDO will publish on the BDO website a full schedule for the World Masters Championship to include venue details, registration times, formats, prize structures and any other information as relevant 4.03 Player listings & Draws a. The BDO will publish on the BDO website full lists of players and match-play draws 5.00 SEEDING OF PLAYERS In the National Play Offs there will be no seeding of players In Qualifying Tournaments the normal system of seeding those Tournaments will apply In the World Masters Championships Finals only there will be seeding procedures as follows 5.01 MEN S CHAMPIONSHIP The Seeding system will operate as follows a. 32 x Men qualifiers will be seeded as per their position in the BDO Invitational Tables as at 30th September in the respective year b. The players seeded 1 to 16 will enter the tournament at the last 32 stage of the event and will be placed in the draw as determined by their seeding position to play against the 16 x group winners c. The players seeded 1 to 16 will each be placed in the qualifying groups corresponding to the seeding formula d. The players seeded 17 to 32 will each be placed in the qualifying groups corresponding to the seeding formula and the winner of each group will assume the seeding number for that group e. These 16 x players will be allocated places in the 8 x playing groups on the basis of 2 per group and calculated as per seeding formula i.e. c. i.e. Group A will include seeds 1 & 16, Group B will include seeds 9 & 8 etc. as follows: Group A Group B Group C Group D Group E Group F Group G Group H 1 + 16 9 + 8 12 + 5 13 + 4 15 + 2 10 + 7 11 + 6 14 + 3 5.03 BOYS & GIRLS There will be no seeding of players in the Boys and Girls Events 24 June 2016 World Masters Championships Page 3

6.00 PLAYING FORMATS 6.01 National Play Offs Playing Formats a. All legs 501 up, straight start, finish on a double b. No Tie break rule c. Minimum leg numbers being for Quarter finals onwards shall be: Men s = Minimum of best of 7 x legs 501 Women s = Minimum of best of 5 x legs 501 Boys = Minimum of best of 5 x legs 501 Girls = Minimum of best of 5 x legs 501 6.02 World Finals - Playing Formats a. All legs 501 up, straight start, finish on a double b. All sets being best of 3 x legs 501 [except where tie breaker rule is applicable] A. Men s Playing Format All Rounds to the last 64 = Best of 5 x sets Last 32 Round to last 8 = Best of 7 x sets Semi Final = Best of 9 x sets Final = Best of 13 x sets Tie breaker rule to apply Order of Throw a. Each player shall throw for bull to determine who throws first in the 1st leg b. The player that is named first in the match draw shall throw first for bull c. Darts that remain in the Bull or 25 rings to be withdrawn before the second player throws d. Darts that rebound from the board shall be thrown again e. If the darts thrown for the bull prove to be tied then both players shall throw again alternately until a winner of the bull is decided f. The player throwing nearest the bull shall throw first in the 1st and 3rd legs of odd numbered sets and in the 2nd leg of even numbered sets g. The 3rd leg of any set is only played if it contributes to the result of that respective set Tie Breaker Rule Men s Final Only a. If the final set is still a draw after 8 x legs have been played then for the 9th leg the following tie breaker rule shall apply b. Each player shall throw for bull to determine who throws first in the 9th leg c. The player that threw first in the match shall throw first for bull d. Darts that remain in the Bull or 25 rings to be withdrawn before the second player throws e. Darts that rebound from the board shall be thrown again f. If the darts thrown for the bull prove to be tied then both players shall throw again alternately until a winner of the bull is decided g. The player that wins the 9th leg of the final set of the respective final match shall be declared the match winner B. Women s Playing Format a. All Rounds to last 8 = Best of 7 x legs 501 b. Semi Final and Final = Best of 9 x legs 501 C. Boys & Girls Playing Formats a. All Rounds = Best of 7 x legs 501 24 June 2016 World Masters Championships Page 4

7.00 PRIZE STRUCTURE a. The Prize structure will be as determined by the Promoter/Sponsor b. If a player is not present at the official presentation ceremony to receive prize money, or prizes, without the prior permission of the Promoters/Organisers then that player shall forfeit the right to receive such prize money, or prizes that may be due. c. An Overseas player will be subject to UK. Withholding Tax on any prize money won, less an allowance for the cost of hotel and subsistence that is actually incurred by the player. 8.00 PLAYING ATTIRE a. All the terms of BDO Playing Rule No: 25.00 shall apply in all matches played in the BDO World Masters Championships and are detailed for reference in the BDO Players Dress Code. b. In the BDO World Masters Championships Finals the Playing Attire of any participating player shall be subject to BDO approval. c. Any unacceptable Playing Attire must be changed before that player can participate in any introductions, Match play on stage, interviews, and introductions. d. Any player refusing to meet with BDO approval shall be liable to forfeit that respective match, and shall be reported to the appropriate darts body for Disciplinary Proceedings to be considered. 9.00 ADVERTISING a. All the terms of BDO Playing Rule No: 27.00 shall apply in all the matches played in the BDO World Masters Championships and are detailed for reference in the BDO Players Dress Code. b. Any special sponsor or TV regulations on advertising will be detailed in the published schedule 10.00 DRINKING a. No alcoholic drinks shall be allowed to be consumed, or introduced by any player or match official into the playing area designated for the staging of the BDO World Masters Championships b. All venue licensing conditions will be applied in full 11.00 ANTI-DOPING POLICY a. The terms and conditions laid down in the BDO Code of Practice No 6: Anti-Doping Policy shall apply to all players and officials participating in The BDO World Masters Championships 12.00 BETTING CODE a. The terms and conditions laid down in the BDO Code of Practice No 9: Betting and Related Activity shall apply to all players and officials participating in the BDO World Masters Championships 13.00 OFFICIALS a. The number of Officials required to organise The BDO World Masters Championships shall be determined and appointed by the the BDO Directors giving due regard to those persons previously appointed and to the budget for The BDO World Masters Championships 14.00 PLAYERS & OFFICIALS CONDUCT a. Any player s or match official's conduct which is considered to have brought the Sport of Darts into disrepute shall be liable to Disciplinary Proceedings being taken against that player, or that official. b. Such Disciplinary Action shall be instigated by the Promoters/Organisers, and shall be conducted in Accordance with BDO Code of Practice No: 3 as laid down in Volume One of the BDO Authorised Handbook. 24 June 2016 World Masters Championships Page 5

15.00 INCIDENTS a. When an 'incident' occurs which is not specifically covered within The BDO World Masters Championships Playing Rules and Format, or the BDO Playing Rules, then the Promoters/Organisers decision shall be final and binding. b. Any decision made under Clause No. 13.00 (a) shall be referred to an ensuing BDO Board Meeting, when that decision shall be considered for inclusion within a revised version of these Rules. 16.00 NOTES TO THE RULES & CONDITIONS a. The Qualifications for the BDO World Masters Championship are reviewed annually at a BDO Board Meeting b. In these Rules and Conditions for the BDO World Masters Championship the term 'Promoters/Organisers' shall mean the British Darts Organisation Limited, or a subsidiary of that Company. 24 June 2016 World Masters Championships Page 6

SECTION TWO QUALIFYING EVENTS & CRITERIA Listed below are the categories of Men s, Women s, Boys, and Girls Events that qualify for representation at the respective World Championships Finals Inclusion in the listings is subject to compliance with all criteria as listed in sub-section 5.00 below 1.00 MEN S QUALIFYING EVENTS A. National Men s World Masters Championships Play Offs Qualifying numbers from UK National Play-offs: 1. England Member Counties Play Offs 8 x Men 2. Scotland Member Counties Play Offs 4 x Men 3. Wales Member Counties Play Offs 4 x Men 4. WDF Member Countries Play Offs 4 x Men B. BDO Recognised Singles Events Champions [Men s] 1. The current and 4 x years previous World Masters Men s Champions as eligible 2. The current and 4 x years previous World Professional Men s Champions as eligible 3. Current British Gold Cup Men s Champion 4. WDF World Cup Men s Champion in the year as won 5. WDF Europe Cup Men s Champion in the year as won 6. WDF Asia/Pacific Cup Men s Champion in the year as won 7. WDF Americas Cup Men Champion in the year as won 8. All Events that are included in the current BDO Invitational Rankings Men s Main Tables 9. National Men s Singles Championships & Open Singles Events that have successfully applied for inclusion as a BDO recognised Member Country Event 10. Member County Men s Open Singles Events for which the total prize fund is 1,000 and which have successfully applied for inclusion as a BDO recognised Member County Men s Open 11. BDO 18-23 Tournament Male Qualifiers for the current year C. BDO Recognised Pairs Events Tournament Champions [Men s] 1. Current BDO British Gold Cup Men s Pairs Champions D. BDO Associate Member Countries Performance Ranking Tables invitations [Men s] [Ref: Associate Member Country listings in Section Three Appendix 1.00 of these rules] 1. BDO Invitation Tables at 30th September The Top 20 x men that are not already qualified 2. National Ranking Tables as relevant at 30th September - Those Players in positions 1 to 4 inclusive that are not already qualified E. BDO British Inter County Championships [Men s] [Ref: BDO Full Member County listings in Section Three Appendix 2.00 of these rules] 1. 100% Playing record - Players with a 100% record of wins from the total fixtures available to them in the previous BICC season 2. Dynamic Dart Average - Players in positions 1 to 20 inclusive in the overall Divisional DDAV Table in the previous BICC Season F. 5.00 EVENT APPLICATION PROCEDURES a. Unless otherwise instructed by the BDO It is the responsibility of the respective controlling Darts bodies of all events as listed to submit an e-mailed application to the BDO Rankings Tables Director i.e. John.Smith@bdodarts.com in order to gain official recognition or ratification of each event in question b. All Event applications must be submitted to the BDO by the 30th of July in the qualifying period for which the application is required to take effect c. Applications will be responded to within 14 x days of receipt d. It is the controlling Darts Body s responsibility to ensure that the BDO are notified of all qualifiers as they emerge and in any instance by no later than 30th September in the year of qualification e. All notifications of players as qualified must be accompanied by the relevant documentation of verification i.e. Tournament Draw Grids, Copies of relevant rankings tables etc. f. It is the responsibility of the relevant darts body to ensure that the BDO are notified of all qualifying players intention to participate and to supply all biographical and other details as required g.
