Instructors: Callie Taylor, Elaine Jaramillo, and Hollie Winter Regular Classes run Jan 8-May 11. All students performing will have an extra week of rehearsal May 14-17. Show dates are May 18 and 19. No classes on holidays/days off from school. For Pre-School aged dancers: Pre-Ballet and Pre-Tap/Jazz *Students must be enrolled in ballet to take tap/jazz Dress Code: Pre-school aged dancers can wear their choice of leotard and tights as well as tutus or skirts for ballet. They may choose to wear the same style outfit for jazz/tap or wear leggings/fitted tops (yoga style attire). Dancers will need pink ballet shoes for ballet and tap shoes for their tap/jazz class. Dancers can choose to wear their ballet for the jazz class or purchase jazz shoes/black ballet shoes. Hair must be pulled back out of the face: ballet bun for ballet preferred, pony tail is acceptable for tap/jazz. Performance and Costumes: Students will learn dances in each class for our spring performance: Cinderella and the Glass Slipper Remix. Costumes for the ballet dance will be borrowed from the studio, students will need to provide their own ballet pink tights and pink ballet shoes. Costumes for the jazz/tap section will be sent home for students to keep but dancers will need to provide their own tights (color tba) as well as shoes. Costume fees are included in tuition amounts. For students in grades K-1: Ballet 1 and Tap/Jazz Ballet 1 *Students must be enrolled in ballet to take tap/jazz Dress Code: Dancers will need a leotard and tights for ballet: black leotards and pink tights are preferred but any solid color/non-flashy styles are ok. NO COSTUMES or TUTUS in ballet class. Simple ballet skirts, solid black leggings, simple ballet shorts, leg warmers, and ballet style sweaters are acceptable. Dancers may wear their choice of dance attire for jazz/tap including leotards, tights, leggings, tutus, dance skirts, and fitted tops. NO Jeans. Dancers will need pink ballet shoes for ballet class, black tap shoes and either black jazz shoes or black ballet shoes for their jazz class. Students enrolled in ballet 2-2 are invited to dance will be cast in Cinderella but must be available for rehearsal outside of their normal class time. For Tap/Jazz, students will learn choreography during their weekly class time. Costumes for the jazz/tap section will be sent home for students to keep. Costumes for the jazz/tap section will be sent home for students to keep but dancers will need to provide their own tights (color tba) as well as black shoes. Costume fees are included in tuition amounts Adult Ballet: January 11-March 15. Minimum 5 enrolled. Open to anyone adult who wants to learn! No experience required! This class will not be performing. Adults may come in their choice of dance/work-out style attire. Ballet shoes are needed, choice of color.
Cinderella and the Glass Slipper Re-Mix May 18 th and 19 th, 2018 at 6p RHS Fine Arts Auditorium Enrollment and Rehearsal Details Specialty Dances: Students may choose to do a solo, duet, or small group number for the show. Students can choose ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, or modern choreography. This option is open to anyone, enrollment and scheduling is first come, first serve and is based on availability. Rehearsals will take place on Friday/Saturday as scheduled. Options for during the week practice may be available but times are limited. Students may borrow costumes that the studio already has or choose to purchase their own. From January 8-May 11, Students in Ballet 1, Pre-Ballet, and all Tap/Jazz classes will learn choreography for Cinderella during their weekly class time. Participation in the show is not required, please let Callie know upon enrollment if you will/will not be performing. Ballet 2 and 3 students will be assigned specific roles in Cinderella and will rehearse these parts outside of their weekly class time and devote class time to perfecting technique. These rehearsals will take place on Friday and Saturday s (there is potential for weekday practice but times are limited), exact rehearsal schedule to be announced during the first week of class and is based on casting *Students who would like to take class but not perform in our show will attend class from Jan 8-April 30. Classes during the month of May will be devoted to rehearsal. Please see Callie for adjusted tuition rates/schedule for technique only students. May 14-19: This week has been reserved in the theatre and at the studio for special rehearsals/classes, set building, dress and tech rehearsals, pictures, and the performance. Exact schedule for the week is TBA and will be announced as soon as details can be finalized. Please tentatively plan to be available all week after school. If you have conflicts during this week please indicate so at registration. **** Theatre reservation has been confirmed via email with the high school activities director. However, changes out of our control have happened in the past and we had to roll with the punches. Every effort to keep the schedule as planned will be made. Thanks in advance for understanding! Cinderella tickets: $5/each or both nights for $7. 2 tickets for each night are included with registration.
Please note the following: Tuition Policy Cedar Street Studio, Spring 2018 Outstanding Tuition from previous sessions MUST be paid in full prior to Spring 2018 registration! -Tuition amounts include teacher/studio fees for the full session January 8 th -May 19 th, fees for costumes and the performance, and 2 tickets to each night of the show. -Some costumes for the performance will be borrowed from the studio and some will be for dancers to keep. These amounts have already been included in the tuition amount. -No additional fees will be charged, however, please plan to provide your own shoes and tights for the show, nude leotard if applicable, and appropriate dance clothing and shoes for classes and rehearsals. Optional costs during the session may include performance photos, DVD s, studio t-shirts, group events, etc. Those amounts will be announced as they come up during the session and are not required. -TUITION IS DUE THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS. Flexible payment plans are available at no additional cost. Please fill out a tuition agreement and submit it no later than the first day of class if you would like to make payments. At a minimum, please plan to pay 1/5 the tuition due over the 5 month session. I, my heirs, or legal representatives forever release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue Callie Taylor, Cedar Street Studio, a representative of Cedar Street Studio or Callie Taylor, or any other instructor at Cedar Street Studio for any injury or death caused by their negligence or other acts. In the event my dancer gets hurt/sick and needs immediate medical care, I authorize my child s teacher to act as she sees fit including transporting my child to seek care and I assume all financial responsibility for this. I understand that it is my responsibility to have my child to class on time and pick up immediately after class. Cedar Street Studio is not responsible for before/after care of my child and I assume all responsibility for injuries/ damages/incidents that may occur during this time including paying for damages to the studio caused by my child.
