The P ATRIOT P RESS Patriot Oaks Academy Newsletter November 22, 2016 Principal s Post Dear Families, Today, as I watched our PTO prepare for a Chargerthon celebration, as I watched our team suit-up for the Great Sliming and as I watched our students laugh and cheer on as cold and brightly colored applesauce was poured over my head, I realized that today is definitely a day to remember all that we have to be thankful for at our amazing school. In line with giving thanks we also announced our Volunteers of the Year today. Thank you to each of these individuals for contributing time in our school and our community. You must have a FHSAA sports physical or FHSAA sports physical waiver turned in before the try out date. You must have your name on the back of your shirt for tryouts. Once you have made the team you will need to turn in a FHSAA sports physical. If you make the team the cost to play will be $75 per athlete. We are having a Winter Music Concert for First Grade students! It will be on Wednesday, Dec. 7 th at 6:00 and at 7:00 p.m. in the Patriot Oaks cafetorium. It is very important that you and your child arrive ONLY for the concert time assigned for your classroom teacher. We have a large group performing, and it is necessary to allow room for parents to park, and to watch their children. Each concert will be 25 minutes long. 6:00 p.m. (arrive at 5:45) 7:00 p.m. (arrive at 6:45) Ms. Jeroloman Ms. Diaz Ms. Swenson Ms. Patterson Ms. Olsen Ms. Watters Ms. Stewart Ms. Williams Concert attire is dressy, and all 1 st grade students should wear RED tops, shirts, ties, or dresses, if possible. Please do not arrive early if your student is performing at 7:00. You may arrive at 6:45. This will allow parents time to clear the parking area and exit the cafetorium. If your kiddo is a crafty chick in grades 1-5 and is in need of a creative outlet, please email Mrs. Grimes at Catherine.grimes@stjohns.k12.fl.us for more information. IMPORTANT REMINDER: You must have submitted an online School Access Application and passed all required background checks in order to access school campus. This includes lunch, meetings with the teacher, class activities, holiday events, field trips, etc. IF YOU GO FURTHER THAN THE FRONT DESK YOU MUST BE CLEARED!!!
