Operating Instructions 1. General Information 1.1 Intended use This mobile unit has been designed to extract and to collect hardly inflammable, not waterbased liquids. The use acc. to the requirements of the operating instruction is part of the recommended operation. Any other operation exeeding these recommendations or not authorised constructional changes can cause serious danger and does not conform to this requirements. The user is liable for any damages caused by unauthorised use. 1.2 Construction and description of operation Container with four wheels (two castor wheels), level indicator and handle Visual inspection reservoir with calibration in litres Venturi-system with overflow protection valve, manometer, suction hose for suction adapter for BMW (already assembled), Mercedes, VW/Audi and Smart and various suction probes Telescopic drain bowl, depends on model Compressed air connectors Discharge hose Safety valve The container operates for extracting of liquids using a generated low vacuum and will have to be pressurized for draining. The vacuum will be generated by air pressurized operation of the Venturi-system. The extracted liquid collects in the visual inspection reservoir.the total volume can be collected in the draining container. 1.3 Technical data Art.- No. 27 632 27 632 890 27 632 680 27 632 891 Length (mm) 600 600 600 600 Width (mm) 580 580 580 580 Max. height (mm) 1360 1520 1800 2120 Weight (empty) (kg) 39 44 42 47 Max. volume (l) 75 95 75 95 Max. pressure (bar) 0,5 0,5 0,5 0,5 1.4 Operation range With this unit hardly inflammable, not waterbased liquids can be collected up to max. 80 C liquid temperature. 2. General safety information 2.1 Information concerning work safety The waste oil extraction unit is designed and manufactured according the appropriate safety and health requirements of the EU guidelines concerning. Nevertheless, any use contrary to the intended purpose can lead to serious risks. status 19.01.20010 2

Operating Instructions For operation of the waste oil extraction unit pay attention to the local safety and accident prevention regulations in any case and pay attention to the recommendations of this operating instructions as well. 2.2 Explanation of the safety information used The safety information used in this operating instruction differentiates between various risk levels. These risk levels are marked in this operating instruction with following signal words or pictograms. Pictogram Signalword Consequences of not observing of the safety advises Warning Eventionally death or most severe personal injuries Caution Eventionally slight or medium personal injuries or damages to property Tab. 2-1: Classification of the safety advises according to the kind and the heavyness of the danger In addition another advise offering general information concerning the use of the product is included. Pictogram Signalword Signification Information Background knowledege or advises for the correct handling of the product Tab. 2-2: General advise 2.3 Risks when using the waste oil extraction unit Warning! The waste oil extraction unit is not desingned for collecting of highly inflammable liquids. Re-adjustments of the stafety valve and air pressurizing of the container without utilizing the saftey valve are strictly prohibited risk of bursting! Caution! Disconnect compressed air, release overpressure or vacuum generated in the container prior to manintenance in any case. Do not exeed the max. recommended extracting oil temperature of 80 C, otherwise damages of the visual inspection reservoir may occur. 3 status 19.01.2010

Operating Instructions Information The container is designed according to German regulation for pressurized containers section 2. According to this regulation regular inspections have to be effected by an authorised person only. The inspection intervals are subject to termination of the user. We recommend an inspection at least any second year. Pay attention to your local environmental safety regulations in any case. 3. Assembly Unscrew the pre-fixed axis with wheels from the container (SW 17) and re-assemble it on the bottom side of the container. For castor wheels mounting assemble one distance plate each on the bottom side of the container between container and each castor wheel. Connect the castor wheels sliding on a metal bush and fix it with the saftey nut. Connect filling tube with lock and connecting tube with lever ball valve. status 19.01.20010 4

Operating Instructions Fix the filling tube together with the connecting tube in center of the container utilising the prepared thead-connection. Prepare a leak-free thread connection! Connect the collecting bowl and complete it with the drain grill. Fix the oil drip tray on the prepared place and the suction probe storage tube on the fixation of the container handle. Fix the complete visual inspection reservoir on the prepared place of the container. Prepare a leak-free thread connection. 5 status 19.01.2010

Operating Instructions Finally connect the suction hose with the Venturi unit and the discharge hose with the lever ball valve on the container. Prepare a leak-free thread connection. 4. Replacement parts list status 19.01.20010 6

Initial start-up and re-operation 5.1 Extraction of liquids To generate the required vacuum shut-off all ball valves on the container (pos. 2, 11, 8) and the discharge nozzle on the suction hose (pos.14) completely. The ventile opens automatically by pressing down and locking of the locking grip. Connect air pressure to the Venturi system. The air flowing thorugh the Venturi system generates the required vacuum. (minimum compressed air pressure required for operation 7 to 8 bar). Disconnect the air pressure at a manometer pressure indication of a vacuum of -0,7 to -0,8 bar. This vacuum guarantees several suction processes. Connect suitable suction probe (Pos. 13) to the suction hose (Pos. 14). The suction probe with the biggest possible diameter to suit the vehicle's dipstick, provides the best performance. For optimal performance prepare for warm engine oil. Higher oil temperatures are lowering the viscosity of the oil to be extracted and improve the extraction performance. Attention: Max. recommended oil temperature for extraction is 80 C (see safety instruction in part 2.3). A special extraction adapter can be used for vehicles utilizing a dipstick tube down to the bottom of the vehicle's oil sump pan. Adapters for Audi/VW, Mercedes and Smart are included. The adapter for BMW is already assembled on the extraction hose. Open the ball valve on the extraction hose after having inserted a suction probe or an adapter into the dipstick. Extract the oil until air bubbles are showing that drainage is completed. Make sure that the capacity of the visual inspection reservoir is sufficient for the quantity of oil to be extracted. Otherwise drain the visual inspection reservoir occasionally. (See next chapter) 7 status 19.01.2010

Operating Instructions 5.2 Draining of the visual inspection reservoir Drain the liquid collected in the visual inspection reservoir always after each extraction process. Control at any time the level indicator to avoid any overfilling of the container (special marking). Open the locking grip (Pos.5) to drain the oil. 5.3 Draining of the container Connect the discharge hose to a waste oil collecting tank (Pos. 7) in and secure against slipping off. Close ball valve on the extraction hose (Pos. 14). Close the ventile rotating the locking grip (Pos. 5). Open ball valves (Pos. 12, 8). Attention! When using versions with drain bowl be sure that the ball valve (Pos. 2)is shut-off. Connect air pressure to compressed air plug (Pos. 12), recommended air pressure 6 bar. Disconnect air pressure after drainage of the container is completed. The ball valve shall remain open (Pos. 8), until the overpressure is completely eliminated. Remove the discharge hose from the waste oil collecting tank and store it on the dispensing spout storage device. 5.4 Malfunctions Malfunctions Causes Solutions Vacuum cannot be generated Ball valves are open Check ball valves and shut them off Ingress of air between the Venturi unit/visual inspection reservoir or visual inspection reservoir/container Extraction performance is not sufficient. The viscosity of oil is to high Suction probe is blocked The vacuum in the container is not sufficient enough Start engine to warm up the oil Clean the suction probe Increase the vacuum or extract with compressed air permanentely connected to the Venturi system status 19.01.20010 8

Operating Instructions 6. Maintenance The waste oil extraction unit requires low maintenace only. Due to the general duty of the user following parts will have to be checked regularily to avoid environmental, personal or property damages. Container see safety instruction part 2.3.
